I believe it will, as the Prez. of GM has talked about the car. And if you consider the ZR1 has no front trunk due to the giant exhaust duct while the E-Ray has a front trunk, the two cars could be 'put together' so to speak (having space for the electric front motors and batteries under the console aka E-Ray) , with an output of 1400-1600HP ...or who knows? It most certainly wouldn't be a car for those 'light in the wallet', but would be the true pinnacle of Vette design. It'd be a monster even larger than the ZR1. What other manufacturers? Do you think that Porsche or Ferrari or a Lambo give two shits about the ZR1 - NO. And the reason is simple - neither does most of their customers. Americans just don't get it - its not the horsepower or numbers on paper that sells supercars, its the feeling, the heritage, the sensation.

@@chriscampbell499 judging by price tag its idiotic trying to imply like the vette with 200k price tag is a "reasonably priced" or "obtainable by average joe" car. Its easily in the price range where it doesn't matter if its 200k or 300k since its basically a 200k toy. No one buys cars in that price range because its "affordable" - thats a poor mans thinking. Also its stupid to assume that if anyone wants't to buy expensive car then they buy one with most horsepower for that price - only 12 year old kids on youtube think that the bigger the number on paper the better the car. If that vwere true cars like Aston Martins, Bentleys or Rolls Royce coupes wouldn't exist.
It is NOT a Small Block. Put the Stingray motor next to the quad cam flat plane beast, and marvel - as every hot rodder does - at how the bigger engine is, outwardly, smaller. In the MR configuration, though, this has less advantage.
It’s not about the performance is about the logo and the status that the logo give you. I bought a R8 2019 and it doesn’t matter I say how good the car is and how fast, my friends that have Bentleys or Ferraris always say the same thing “ it is an Audi” and that’s when I learnt the prestige that those brands gives you.
They’ll always be proud of the design or logo on their shoes, wallets, Watches, cars. They have to feel better than everybody else, because their ego won’t let them see reality, see themselves as they truly are.
I think it's brilliant. I have C6 Z06 with a Maggie HB blower and I love my car, it's so fun to drive, but the C8 ZR1 will be in another category entirely. Hopefully there will be decent used examples for sale in 5 years, I refuse to pay new car prices for any performance car, even though I have the money. I will not buy a car that I can't drive for fear of running up the mileage. WTF am I buying the car for if I can't drive it?
I wish I could afford one, but to stand out I'd want mine in green camo with hunter orange on the wing and trim. I don't care if anybody else likes it, I'd drive it every day until I die
It may be more powerful than any Ferrari or Lamborghini or Porsche in this price range, but it lacks the brand status. Anyone who buys a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, etc. will not stop buying. The corvette is more for those who don't have the financial means to buy a 300+ thousand dollar car
And who cares besides the brand snobs? I fix watches too. And I find the Fanboys in the watch world so cringe. I've found more enjoyment in watches that cost me nothing. And I can still appreciate a Rolex. I hate that my job(watches) and passion(cars) are filled with these sorts of people. 🤦🏻♂️
No wonder many of us love Chevy! Ford need to charge TWICE as much as one of these will go, for the vaunted GT with a V6? Or the new Mustang mid engine special.
I realize that in the realm of 1000+HP street cars, 3500 lbs isn’t very heavy, but I just can’t bring myself to call 3600 lbs a featherweight performance car.
I don't think so, the E-Ray just fits into a diff. niche. Kinda like the Grand Sport cars which is basically a wide-body StingRay with better suspension tweaks.
With over 1000 HP Henry Ruggs, former Raider WR (now sitting in prison) could've killed even more innocent bystanders than two that night in his new Corvette at 156 mph on city streets near our home in Las Vegas. Maybe he would've probably gotten it up to 200mph! Nobody "needs" 1000+ horsepower. IMHO -Former Corvette Owner
Is the Corvette a supercar no. It’s the car that defines precisely what a supercar is: better than a Corvette. It’s properly good, but I think it just is what it is. I highly doubt Zora is ever going to come to fruition, the 1000hp zr1 helps support that too... I been a lifetime import turbo cars n used to argue my dad because he used to have 2 corvettes back in the day... GM did an unbelievably good job with this whole platform.
Remember, it was GM that brought up the Zora in the first place, but I guess time will tell. Just my opinion.
@c5kev ok,if you are saying the Zora will be the e-ray/ZR1 in one, then yes it's definitely possible...
@@bitrage. I don't know anything more than you do, but the Zora is to be the top of the heap, so adding the electric, instant torque motors & AWD is the only way I see to top the ZR1. Again, it'd be a total monster and even possible hypercar territory!
@c5kev yea but why I say I don't think it will be a thing is because everyone is like releasing there own "YOLO" gas engines be4 supposedly going to electric (Please God hopefully not), you think they would put in that much R&D/ Engineering/money into a limited platform that MOST of there customer base won't be able to practically afford?? It would probably be Hurican money so even most vette guys will be out. Then on top of that super limited and RIGHT be4 GM has to invest HUGE money into going EV??? Just seems wayyy to reckless for GM, Dodge maybe but not GM..😆
Its probably going to priced around $200,000/$225,000 MSRP. With dealer mark ups of $100,000/$150,000. Still a bargain in the "Hypercar" space...
Highly doubt it'll cost double that of a Z06, but it will be expensive for sure!
150k base price
Hypercar?????
@@gracielamago4170 What would you call any sports car with over 1000 HP?
@@gracielamago4170car goes 233.5 mph both ways. Faster & quicker than the majority hypercars out there for a fraction of the price. It’s a hyper car. You only disagree because it’s American made and it’s not that expensive
I tell you now the supercar community here in South Florida is salty AF about this car. I think all major TH-camrs (hint hint) should do a poll on weather or not the ZR-1 should be considered a Supercar. Some argue with me about my Viper ACR is not an exotic. I cant wait to see it line up against a Mclaren 750s or 765. They drive those like Hondas out here.
To each their own, but no. Best C2 is 65 fuelie, with side pipes. Functional vents, 4 wheel discs & that light, but powerful fuelie engine. That car can dance.
As insane as the new ZR1 is, personally if I had the money, I'd be riding in a Le Mans Blue '69, 427, 4 speed and side pipes
I’m all for higher horsepower but I think 1k is going overboard. Plus you won’t even see a Nissan Z in my neck of the woods so seeing anything in this class is never going to happen.
Other manufacturers hate this because the C8 ZR1 gives buyers the most bang for the buck BY FAR
@@brudel001 LMAO keep telling yourself that while the Corvette kicks the shit out of all of them for a fraction of the price.
@@chriscampbell499 Rich people don't buy things because "they are cheap for what they are" or "they are bang for the buck" or "its same for a fraction of the price".
Thats the problem with murican cars, instead of making a cool car for what it is they always try compare it others and put others down 'oh it gives middle finger to others" , "oh, its this and that killer" etc. Its pathetic attidude and rich people don't wan't to be pathetic.
@brudel001 judging by price tag is idiotic, no matter how hard you try to spin it
@@chriscampbell499 judging by price tag its idiotic trying to imply like the vette with 200k price tag is a "reasonably priced" or "obtainable by average joe" car.
GM should open a dealership in Italy!!! JK !!!!!!
No manual = garbage. FU GM...never again.
As a c8 owner. The gaps the oversteer and the interior plus tech is what's sets exotics apart. Sounds good till you enter a exotic.
You probably have a 1lt or 1lt. Because the 3lt/3lz is way better than the newest lamborgini and Ferrari interiors.
2lt. Also did you see the full screen Ferrari has going across..also the 2000s Audi row of buttons we have is 20 yrs late
It is NOT a Small Block.
Put the Stingray motor next to the quad cam flat plane beast, and marvel - as every hot rodder does - at how the bigger engine
is, outwardly, smaller.
In the MR configuration, though, this has less advantage.
If I could choose, Old school Tampa Bay orange with red brake calipers and white accents. ZTK package.
Yes very true.
Yeah well its all fun and games until everyone gets gapped by a ZR1
They’ll always be proud of the design or logo on their shoes, wallets, Watches, cars.
They have to feel better than everybody else, because their ego won’t let them see reality, see themselves as they truly are.
Fucc them give me a c-8zr1
I think it's brilliant. I have C6 Z06 with a Maggie HB blower and I love my car, it's so fun to drive, but the C8 ZR1 will be in another category entirely. Hopefully there will be decent used examples for sale in 5 years, I refuse to pay new car prices for any performance car, even though I have the money. I will not buy a car that I can't drive for fear of running up the mileage. WTF am I buying the car for if I can't drive it?
Love it!!! I want a red one
I wish I could afford one, but to stand out I'd want mine in green camo with hunter orange on the wing and trim. I don't care if anybody else likes it, I'd drive it every day until I die
The price of the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is expected to start around $180,000 and go up to $205,000 depending on the trim and options.
My god this thing is gorgeous and crazy. I want it!
No manual = garbage. FU GM...never again.
Merica 🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
but how reliable will it be?
...and it only cost us the Camaro.
And it still has room to add the hybrid motor from the xray to boost it. Twin turbo E-Ray/Zora?
Yeah, that's what I think...1400-1500HP? Holt S***!
No wonder many of us love Chevy! Ford need to charge TWICE as much as one of these will go, for the vaunted GT with a V6? Or the new Mustang mid engine special.
What do you think it costs?
A Quarter?
Mill?
😂 the general public is not going to be able to afford this. After dealer.markup, i bet its close to 300k
I was thinking around 250k msrp + markup so 350k-400k
The ZR1 was not created with the general public in mind. That's the base C8's mission.
I realize that in the realm of 1000+HP street cars, 3500 lbs isn’t very heavy, but I just can’t bring myself to call 3600 lbs a featherweight performance car.
The Zora is coming. 1350hp.
I think the flat-plane engine was developed by Yamaha, and first showed up on their sportsbikes.
Take Notes Carlos Tavares of Stellantis. This is what Americans want!!!
Also the turbos have to be able to separate from the header. It would never be cast as one piece
I do not want one.. I want two.
Salivating
Love the car ❤ but taxes here make the price go 3-4 times higher 😮
Does it make the E-Ray Obsolete in the line up?
I don't think so, the E-Ray just fits into a diff. niche. Kinda like the Grand Sport cars which is basically a wide-body StingRay with better suspension tweaks.
With over 1000 HP Henry Ruggs, former Raider WR (now sitting in prison) could've killed even more innocent bystanders than two that night in his new Corvette at 156 mph on city streets near our home in Las Vegas. Maybe he would've probably gotten it up to 200mph!
Nobody "needs" 1000+ horsepower. IMHO
-Former Corvette Owner
This car would beat a GT3 RS at Monza! Tight technical tracks the GT3 RS all day but the ZR1 is going to be king at a few tracks with high top speeds.
I am in love.
Is the Corvette a supercar no. It’s the car that defines precisely what a supercar is: better than a Corvette.
It’s properly good, but I think it just is what it is.
The C2 was *almost* a supercar, the C4 was *almost* a supercar, the C7 was *almost* a supercar, and so is the C8, but I don’t think you can call your car a supercar unless it can outperform the Corvette.
You guys are acting like Chevy hasn’t been better all this time… since like the mid 2000’s……
A c6 zr1 corvette from 2006 will mop the floor with any lambo you can think of. All you gotta do is spend no more than 5 grand on a few basic mods and a tune…..
It is NOT from Detroit, it is from Bowling Green KY. Just like every other Corvette.
I can only afford the base model stingray
The wet dream of any sane (and insane) Corvette lover. Imho it was a long time ago the Corvette stopped being a average Joe sports car with decent performance.
Nope! The 1963 C2 was the first mid-engine Corvette - front-mid-engine. They all have been mid-engined ever since. The C8 is the first production rear-mid-engine Corvette.
Great iob Brad
I'm surprised that they didn't make the new corvette have more horse power then the 2024 stage 3 yanko camero which has 1,500 horse power
Horse power isn't everything it has to be engineered to proform on the road we will see if it can corvette always come close but never closes the deal I still own my first corvette a 1986 c4 I love it it was a great car for its time but the European car s were always built better hope this zr1 prevails
Add a powerful electric motor to the front wheels and this car will be the best ever made.
I absolutely believe that's the upcoming Zora. It'd be a monster!
Um, the best bang-for-buck performance car in the universe is ... electric. The camel's nose isn't in the tent, boys, the elephant is in the room.
Love it ❤
You got a Thumbs Up for the fart...LMAO
People hate on a car that keeps up or shits on ones that are a million or multiple millions of dollars. Chevy hit a grand slam.
The crotch rocket of muscle cars.
Gm….. I think it’s time to slap this motor into trucks or build a SS Silverado with this engine 😂😂
If I had the money, (big, big, big, woefully huge "if",) I would rather have a Mercedes AMG One.
"The best or nothing."
The best 0 to 60 for the zo6 was 2.3 mine went 2.6 plenty of times this car should be a 2 second 0 to 60
Will you trade yours in? For the ZR1
I bet that Zora go have an electric ⚡️ motor to the front wheels to make it AWD and over 1200hp 😊
I want one! ❤
I saw one at a chevy dealership. I like the car untill I saw the price tag. It was more than 150K. Too rich for my blood.
Just needs a downpipe and a tune 😆
It's not the 1st American car to surpass the 1,000 HP mark. The Dodge Demon already did that.
