    Vianney, this is so fascinating to me! As a city girl who grew up with a mother who “believes” she is allergic to everything that grows, I never learned how to compost/grow/care for plants! Moving from Michigan to Georgia, I feel like I have more of a fighting chance with these sorts of things, lol. For the past 7 years, I have annually invested in hanging plants as well as caring for my landscaped perennials with touch and go success. I really appreciate all of your tips/inspiration in this regard!! 👍🏼👏🏼😍

    My husband made his own composer out of plat the only thing I don’t like about it keep the stuff in the house until he ready to move it to the composer bin but you get some pretty dark rich sol out of it thank you for sharing you have a awesome green hands all your plants are just beautiful

    I have similar one and it works great. I mainly compost fresh yard waste and cat litter(wood pellets),used coffee grounds. I think it’s very easy to operate,taking out compost and putting wastes . It’s also blended in very well in the garden.

      That’s so great! Thanks for sharing how you use yours. Mine looks as great as the day I bought it, the plastic hasn’t dulled or faded…or bent out of shape!

    I am glad EDCO has started collecting food scraps!!!! My friends that tried composting had trouble getting enough "dry".

    Thank You for showing your compost bin. I have the same one but still haven’t got any compost. I never add water to mine and I know I need more greens. Maybe next year. I’m in Chicago so winter is nipping at our heals.

    Love that you are sharing your gardening adventures…I would like a composer but I am afraid of it attracting roof rats that we have here in Phoenix AZ. I strive to be as self sustaining as possible with my raised bed vegetable garden. I look forward to more of your gardening videos!! Thank you!

      Hi, if you only compost fruit, veggie, cardboard etc it will reduce the chance of vermin by a lot. If you compost meat however (which these tumblers are not really equipped for) then you will get all kinds of pests.

    Hi! Thank you for the video. I’m juicing right now and I was hoping I could put the pulp in my bin.

    I just bought this. The instructions say not to put it in direct sunlight. Have you have any issues keeping yours in the sun all the time?

    I gave up on the divider. I found it impossible to get it in place so I tossed it and have one big tumbler.

    can you roll a wheel barrow under to dump the finished product in?

    The green vegetables start turning into nitrogen and forming a liquid which will drip from the bin, to counter that process adding brown compost items like dead leaves, paper egg cartons, old brush etc. will limit the liquid dripping from the compost bin.

    Does it matter which side you start on?
    Thank you for the video!

    • @VianneyCreates
      @VianneyCreates  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, you can start on either side...once it's filled up and breaking down...start using the other side. I hope that makes sense. TY!

    Hi! This video was super helpful as we just got a tumbler! When do you take the compost from the add side and put in the other side?

    • @VianneyCreates
      @VianneyCreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      TY! I actually don't take it out of the "add" side. I add until I feel like it's full enough, and just don't add anymore and keep tumbling until it's ready. When I stop adding to the one side, I begin adding into the other side...then start a new process in there. So, two sides going at different stages. I hope that makes sense.

    I have the same, but leaving the food scraps in the bokashi compost. However, I dont get this tumbling compost to get warm

  • @Marilynlovesebiking

    Would one be able to add leaves from the yard in there too? We have tons of leaves. I have always wanted a compost bin. This looks like a nice size one.

    • @VianneyCreates
      @VianneyCreates  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, absolutely! In a good compost, you want dry things like leaves. It's a bummer, I really only have palms...so I never have enough leaves to really help. My compost is generally just fruit/veggie scraps from the kitchen and garden.

    That's awesome. Could you share when it's done? How long does it take for you to be able to use it??
    I didn't think here in Michigan that would work. Be great if it did!! Love when you show your garden and flowers!

    • @VianneyCreates
      @VianneyCreates  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't have an update video, but it's been great. The barrel looks as good as new, no discoloring or warping at all. I know a lot of times plastics that are in the weather all day, all year get grey and brittle. It looks perfect (and works just the same).

    • @VianneyCreates
      @VianneyCreates  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What I recall is it was not hard to put together...but I did mention in this video...the inner separator wheel does not really nestle in. It's kind of just there. You would think it would snap in or nestle in better...but it's kind of off set. I hope you saw that part.

    It is a useless composter. It takes too much time to assemble it. Also, it is very difficult to take the compost out.
