Carrying your brothers load because he can't and never complaining about it. The depth of character in your circle is awesome to see.

To hear Trevor tell his story and perservere is something else. To hear about all the guys pitching in and pulling weight not saying a word is incredible brotherhood. Proud to follow you guys, rock gear everywhere I go. Cant wait for the rest!

Great video as always, I have never had that much weight on my back, poor Trevor after back surgery carrying that much weight had to be grueling. Archery hunting for elk is definitely at the top of my bucket list, I live back east and may never get to do that but watching your videos absolutely inspires me to some day get it done. Thanks guys, God bless you all.

It's inspiring to see the teamwork you all put forth to help each other succeed and then the humble side of each of you when the successes come. I've never seen such unselfishness before and it encourages me to be more like you all. Thanks for taking us along on this journey!

What a great amazing group. Hearing Trever's story about his back and his brothers and friends that have been quietly helped by carrying more weight, that's awesome and totally shows what this brotherhood is about. Props to all of you!

Tree thanks for sharing that you had surgery on your back, I’ve been contemplating going archery hunting next season because I had an implant put in my back and recently recovering. With that being said my 12 Year old daughter and I have been inspired by the BRO family, HUSH, and Elk101 so we will be hunting next season for the first time with archery equipment. Thank you guys!

Loved the little evil look on Trents face at the end talking about his hunt! Can’t wait to see it. You guys have without a doubt the best TH-cam Elk hunting series out there! Well Hush and Elk 101 ain’t to shabby either!!

Wow, this video touched home. It makes me happy to be part of a hunting community that is so positive. It's all so great to see a group of guys that "get it". Stepping up when another team member can't. Pretty amazing what we do for our "brother's" when they can't take a full load. Working as a group always makes us stronger. Great work guys.

Trevor, thank you for sharing about your back surgery. 5 weeks ago I shot my first elk ever and 3 weeks ago I had a microdiscectomy on my left L4/L5 at 35 years old. I had been wondering what my hunting future holds. Seeing you on that pack out gives me hope that I will be able to continue hunting and pack meat out in the future. Watching Land of the Free 2.0 has been a big part of my recovery process.

Treavor it is crazy that you spoke about your surgery sounds like the same surgery i am going in for tomorrow morning. Before I found out I needed surgery had started planning my first trip out west to try a backpack elk hunt. Hearing your story makes me confident I can still do it. Thank you for sharing your stories.

There is no greater love than those who share your burden never complaining or making you feel broken. I too have had L4, L5 back surgery with a spine stimulator implant and am limited by not having the kind of friends or brotherly love that are selflessness enough to support my limitations. That alone has forced me to only watch others live my dream of elk hunting. Your videos are awesome and allow me to watch your selflessness and support of one another. May God continue to Bless you with many adventures safely into the wilderness of hunts.

  • @heatherd.9390

I can totally relate with you, Treavor. I had the exact same surgery as you, but it was on both left and right. The problem I had afterwards, other than the restriction for carrying heavy things, is I developed a wad of scar tissue on my right side that adhered to my sciatic nerve root. I have 24/7 sciatica with hypersensitivity in my foot and outside of my calf about halfway up. I've had to quit work and am on a walker now. I am very glad that your crew has stepped in to help you. You are a valuable member to the crew in more ways than just what you can carry and they clearly know that. Plus they love you.
Take care of that back... I've learned that you only get on per lifetime and life is pretty miserable if you live with chronic back pain, as you will recall! I've actually turned my daughter into an ab-crunching machine in hopes of keeping a strong core which greatly helps with preventing back injuries and recovery from one if it happens.

Trevor, congrats on joining the Birthday Bull club. I've been a member since 2013 and it is a great feeling. I'm sure every time you look at that bull it will bring a smile to your face!

Trevor I all too well know how your back feels. I too have had lower back surgery years ago L4/5 Lactolectomy and more with bone fusion, four screws and rods. I was told the same, be lucky to pack again, ski or anything of the sort. 2 months later I was in the backcountry of Wyoming hunting, and packing out a bull solo. I’ll be 50 here shortly and have been packing meat for nine years now since my surgery, my bulls every year and hunting partners. I think my love and ambition for the solitude and fire within for elk hunting keeps me healthy mentally and strong. Keep powering through, never stop brother!!!

More MEAT!! That's my 2yo's favorite exclamation, you can use it if you want. Might sound creepy but I would love to see more clips with the carcass, like the actual shot forensics and damage to the organs etc... but y'all made the boning and packing super informational and aesthetic. Treavor has really laid it bare in this series; he's a great steward of authenticity- highs and lows he opens up and owns his actions in an always optimistic way. Thanks to the whole crew for this incredible journey that we get to share with you through the screen

I feel your pain Treavor. I had the same surgery in 2015 after a workplace injury. I am no longer able to do my trade of 19 years (heavy Diesel Fitter) and was told similar in regard to hunting. Persistence as will power kept me at it. I can still hunt with camp on my back but I just have to do it smarter now. It took a re-evaluation of my gear to lighten it right up.
Mates took up my slack whilst hunting. I am so appreciative of that and I can’t express my gratitude to them.
Great video guys and great series. Loving every aspect of it and the brothers are inspiring for us all to get out there. Cheers from Australia!! 🍻

I've enjoyed 2.0 this far! It may seem not as much harvesting of bulls as 1.0 or your past films and that's the reality of hunting and you all show that and have shown that. That's why I'm a huge fan and will continue to watch and support the BRO team.

This one's for Treavor. Definitely understand how it feels to rely on others to help with the heavy lifting. 25 years in the Canadian military, some misspent youth and contact sports left me with S1-L5-L4 with basically no disc material. I went 12 years dealing with pain. Finally had surgery in 2015. Best thing I ever did. Not 100%, but good enough to hunt. I hate asking for help. You know you have the best friends and family when they just help out without a word. Loving the season. Wife and I were away for 8 days with our grandson. Just finished binge watching LOTF 2.0 to get caught up.

Thanks so much for putting this series out there. Ive really enjoyed watching it and can’t wait for more. One question I have is that I’ve noticed that elk have a tendency to drop once they hear the bow go off. Do you aim a bit lower than normal in anticipation of this? The turtle fall would have made great video for sure! Been there and done that Cody. Once on a pack out crossing a stream, I tried to hit each rock but I started leaning. Then it was fas forward to a full on face plant. My "buddies" were laughing as I called for a little help!
