God accepts us just the way we are. But He loves us to much to leave us just the way we are. God bless her for her honesty, but I believe she is missing the mark and I pray she'll discover God's best.

INSPIRATIONAL! Honestly Chely is an amazing woman and role model. From her music to her interviews to her book and then to top it off a ground breaking movie that lets others see the struggles and fears of coming out. God has truly blessed you Chely and I wish you and your beautiful growing family the best.

@dennissa1 It's ok to go to church and be gay. Check out united church of Christ. You might like it. They are very open and accepting. Or, maybe a nondenominational church. Igoing to church helps fuel you spiritually and getting together with other Christians is good.

q: why did kd lang stop doing country music? a: there just wasn't room in country for a lesbian, vegetarian buddhist. come on, Country; grow up, join the real world, embrace the twenty-first century ... stop being a hindrance and start helping. kd and chely are great singers - that is all which really matters. if GOD hates gays, why does he make so many of them?

I relate to that powerful moment of coming out with your dad; it was a defining moment for me and it forever changed my relationship with my dad. He disowned me for two years- but in that time came to realize that life is extremely short and that I was still the same girl that he loved. I am forever grateful that we reconciled before his passing in 2004. Thank you and others for speaking and living your truth. God bless.

It is not for us to judge others, no matter who we are. God loves us all. Each and every one of us. Jesus Christ taught us to love one another, no matter who we are. It is a commandment from Jesus. I am a Christian. I have different beliefs than others, and I don't agree on many things, but that doesn't/shouldn't distract me from Jesus's/God's commandment. Love one another. Whether your gay, straight, a thief, beggar, rich, poor, republican, democrat, whatever and whoever you are. Love one another. I know it is a tough one to do, and we all have some bias in us. Were only human and we have our faults, but we need to be on that path. It's ok to be and live different. We can get along and acceptance of one another. That is Gods will. Gays will not go to hell. All judgement is left to God. He knows us and whats best for us. He is the almighty and is perfect above everyone else. I respect Chely Wright and her music. I respect her choice to live. It is her choice, not mine to judge.Acceptance and love.

Chely Wright is a couragous, strong, fantastic woman. I didn't have the nightmare a lot of Gays did when I came out to my family. They accepted me with the love we always had and still have today, and coming out with them made us stronger. Because i wasn't hiding from them anymore. I believe they all knew long before I told them, because I had a partner for 5 yrs and we did everything together and lived together. The only thing that my family has ever had for me is that I'm safe and loved. I was a very lucky lesbian with my family and everyone I worked with, and they all knew about my partner. i drove a school bus in SoCal for almost 40 yrs and it didn't matter to anyone. Let Go and Let God. Thank you Chely for all you've done for yourself and showing that God and Jesus" DO" love us for who we are. Amen.

I think the thing we need to Remember when dealing with anyone. Is this as a Christian. Is this.I was a fan of hers before her Decision and im still a fan of hers.
When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” John 8:7

So is "Thou shalt not be gay" one of the ten commandants?
How about one of the seven deadly sin? No
Well then surly Jesus gave some sermons speaking out against it. Oh.

Good to see non confrontational dialogue on this subject I'm glad she is saved she seems nice. I am disappointed with the off the top of my head this is what I think God is like approach though. When I avoid the Bible I tend to drift and when I think the world should be run by women in high heels I know it is time to get back to the word:)

There is no gap to “bridge”. Sin is sin, and has NO place being ok’d in the church!! We ALL sin, but to condone and bless it is blasphemous.

Hi Chely, God loves you very very much. He made you. But we cannot rely on our feelings no matter how strong they are. They have been adulterated since the fall of man from the Garden of Eden by the eating of the forbidden fruit because we wanted to know the knowledge of good and evil. That twisted our thinking for what God wanted for us. We have no capacity to be able to handle our feelings in the sense that they can confirm a decision for us. Morals have become relative. I hated the bible. I thought it was awful against women. But as I studied the full council of God and was around some very good encouraging folks who told me I must have a daily relationship first and foremost, which you say you do. Things that I did not see as a problem were explained by the Holy Spirit that resides in me and from that I continue to grow and have more peace. Peace that Jesus gives, not as the world gives. There is a difference. I suspect I still do things I ought not to. It's a process and I continue to die to myself everyday. Give up something everyday. I ask God to help me daily. He will either walk me through, take it away or leave as a thorn in my side to keep me humble so I'm no bragging or unloving. Human sexuality is very powerful and many identify themselves based on that sexual desire. Sexual desire has been corrupted from the fall. Those feelings do not define us. His ways are higher than our ways. If he says its wrong, whether I feel it or not, It's wrong. I believe he wants the best for you and me. I don't know why it has to be this hard, but it is. You either believe the full council of God or you don't. If you think that God wants you to have a perfect and full life down here, that is not so. He is no respector of persons and what they want. He is much more interested in your eternal salvation. Being with him, you will forget all about sexual desire. Being in his presence is amazing. Jesus had noone when he was here. He denied himself and knew no sin and was tempted every way a man is tempted. He was frustrated, he cried, he got angry. He leaned on the Holy Spirit and his Father to get him through all the tough stuff he came here for, just to save us. What a gift! He told us to pick up your cross, deny yourself and follow me. That strong sexual desire for a woman may be the cross you have to carry if for some reason the feeling does not go away. Were you not involved with Brad Paisley? You don't think lack of feelings don't happen in a marriage between a man and a woman too? God expressed his desire from the beginning of creation. Jesus spoke to that in the New Testament as well when the pharisees were questioning why God granted Moses divorce. Jesus said it was not so in the beginning. There were things God was letting slide in Old Testament like men having many wives. What was that about? It was not God's original plan. He was trying to work with these fallen people he chose to lead the rest of the world. He is very patient. But he is clear about his ways. If you really want to follow him, sacrifice everything for him. When you are most satisfied in him only, your life will come together in ways you never thought possible. But your motive and desire has to be his way for you, not a world fleshly desire. Self glorification and worrying about what you want will not make you happy, truly happy. Clearly God is trying to show you he loves you and if you love him above all else and ask with his will for your life in mind, he will bless you; just not the way you want. He created us, he gets to make the rules. Surprisingly, it is way better than you would have wanted in your own way for your life. God Bless you in Jesus name!
