thehalfbloodserb I know it’s a late reply, but have you tried The FlyLady? I’m also like you, lack of energy due to my thyroid. But the FlyLady method has been wonderful to me. I only spare 15 minutes (using a timer) decluttering one room per day. When the time’s up, I stop doing everything and go back to my everyday life. Try visiting their site on how start. Hope this helps! 😊
I watched the video half way, got to the point of clearing office desk, stopped it, cleared my desk and watched the rest of it! that's how convincing you were!!!! thanks
Hoarding is a fear of poverty. My husband comes from a family of hoarders. They all had/have at least 1 retail job so they get big discounts. The very first time I went to my husbands Aunt's house there was a path from room to room because the place was filled with stuff from floor to ceiling! Just like the nightmares that we see on TV. The back porch was full and she had 2 storage sheds built in the backyard that were filled to the brim, as well. I was in shock. It was a small 2 bed/1 bath house. She lived by herself but geesh. So much stuff! As the years have gone by my husband drags more and more stuff home and I have to drag it out to the trash. It's literally become a daily cycle at this point. I'm the complete opposite. I'm not okay unless I live in a magazine cover, Everything is white, light greys, silver, crystal and mirrors. Even my rugs are white fur, The living room furniture is white. White throws and throw pillows, lol, and everything is very minimalistic and immaculate. When you have a home like this it's even more noticeable when something is outta place. It drives me nutz!! We entertain a lot and his family is at our home a lot and they are in love with the place but won't get rid of the hoard to live a better stress free life for themselves. At least his Mom has her stuff in a spare room and it is organized. She's recently let my husband put her place together but that's the blind leading the blind, lol. At least she's coming around. :)
Girl that is so true my husbands sister is like you her husband is such a hoarder and what he days is that if they ever are 9ut of work that he can sell everything and they can survive that way. So maybe that is what it is subconsciously
Just curious, I love all your decorating style, but how do you entertain with all white sofas, etc? I would be freaking out with everyone carrying around food and red wine.
My sister is like that. The first few years, her husband was so proud and abusive, she didn't think to ask for help until it was too late. Now, whatever she sees is what she wants and there is no talking her out of it. Later, she became deathly ill but she is still holding onto all that stuff she accumulated over the years.
Wow this vid popped up so I watched it. I’m one of those with hidden clutter ( closets, cabinets etc) I related to all the feng shui points you made. I recently did major organization and it was very cathartic, spot on re emotions, procrastination and living in the past. Psychologically I feel much better.
Your video is 11:54 in length and you spent 4:55 in intro. I really, really like your channel but (being very ADD) I start doing something else while waiting for you to get to the topic. I know this is my problem but I have to wonder: How many other ADD potential Subscribers are out there?
Lmfao.. the struggle is real. My life. I can't even go to the movies anymore. I can't sit still that long and do nothing else at the same time. I don't want to be rude by bringing a light and book, using my phone, or getting up and down to at least find snacks. I'm 31 going on 9.
I have the famous “chair" that I put all my clothes on. My closet used to be a mess but I try to keep it neat now. You and your place are absolutely stunning! I'm a interior designer as well and clutter is something I pay attention to, even when I'm over someone's home. Love this! Thank you girl :)
This video is very helpful to me. I am not a hoarder , I am just slow on declutter. When I have to make a decision on what to do I don't do anything with my cluttery mess.
Interesting info to ponder, BUT, I truly feel clutter is a sign of Depression and Not knowing how to let go....holding on to things and not able to be décisive enough to Let it Go....
I only just found this today ....thank you .! I found this this to be really motivating ... I have clutter on and around my desk .... it stops me from staying on top of my paperwork , but also it affects my ability to organise my life! I’m going to work on that today!! Thanks for the pep talk!
"A cluttered entryway shows a fear of relationships?" We love our entry to clear to walk into but to be full of shoes taken off and hooks to hang coats so everyone feels comfortable coming in. It doesn't have to feel "posh" which can make people uncomfortable. After the entryway, then the house if non-cluttered. People feel like there is a place for them with their coat and shoes along with everyone else.
WOW, how resonating!! I have a lot of issues, I have recently de-cluttered my kitchen and at the same time looking at how I nurture my family has really changed from resentment to embracing, loved the video a lot of truth there thank you
At this point I have a lot of issues, I have clutter everywhere in every room right now! I am so overwhelmed and starting to work through this!! I am a New Traditionalist. Time to start clearing out this house!!! Thanks so much, this has motivated me even more to get moving!
I agree with everything but Marie Kondo says re: decluttering that you SHOULD do it all at once (as best as you can manage within a certain time frame) so that you *immediately* feel the benefits as opposed to little by little!
I do not agree with her method. She has very obviously borrowed from feng shui principles, but what she has done with them doesn't really look sound or effective for many people. If it works for a person, fine, but in general, I think she has just capitalized on getting on the clutter-clearing/feng shui bandwagon, but trying to make a new niche. She seems like a lovely person, but as a long time feng shui practitioner (trained in So. Calif.) much of what I've seen of what she presents doesn't have a lot of substance. I'm sure her work has helped some people and that is to be commended. It's not authentic feng shui.
I stumbled across this video and boy it really hit me hard. My house is clean but with clutter here and there. I feel like it clutters my mind and can't seem to move forward because clutter holds me back from progressing it's like a barrier. Love what you explained.
You should ALWAYS either toss out, of give away to a new home, things your not using. It'll make you feel better if its somethng you loved and knowing that its going to a good home with friends. Maybe some baby gear, or an old crib, Things you know people who NEED it will USE it and love it. Some things just need to be tossed, old magazines, news papers. Ive helped many friends who were huge clutter bugs clean out their whole house. I bring the 32 gallon trash bags, and a vacuum if they dont have a decent one and the first rule is to "just go through the house and fill up the trash bags with all the OBVIOUS TRASH. Things you KNOW you absolutely do not need, or things that are broken. Get it OUTSIDE and then take it from there. Ive always been alot like the specialists on hoarders that help those poor souls (and WAY before that show was actually on too!) ; ) great video!
I live with two men, my husband and special needs brother. They both drop things where they please. I think their clutter is a man thing. I put my clutter in bins and behind closed doors. Clutter is stress!
I clutter all over my room my car but not my desk at work ... I have always said the clothes being around my bed makes me feel wrapped up ..some sort of weird closeness...people who clutter all over self loath....right before watching this video I was just asking God not to wake me up tomorrow morning because I just can't seem to get this thing called life in order. And I want to so bad but I just never finish what I start
Hi! How are you doing? I can relate to what you said. I've been decluttering my home goods but have clothes everywhere. I feel exactly what you described, being wrapped up. I've pulled out all my clothes, organized them by type and am going from there. I keep reminding myself to only keep what I love most and that I'm working towards being free. Just want to encourage you to keep trying. Hoping you are well.
DeeDee B have you thought about getting a professional organizer? They can come in and organize your clutter and you will feel amazing when your things are organized. I live in the DC area and know someone who does this and she is paid by the hour, and is reasonably priced. I could find someone where you live, if you want some support. Hope you are feeling better and more hopeful. You can get help.
I keep a really clean apartment partially because I air bnb it on the weekends. My messy spot is my closet. Which causes me stress, I am working to declutter. Recently I have been more into my emotions and accepting them. Declulltering will be a cathartic way to let my emotions breathe. Thanks for the content!
What tips have you for got for editing/decluttering sentimental items, such as school exercise book & childhood drawings? I'm really struggling with this, but I've got such a lot that I simply can't keep it all!
Well I don't have children but I do have some family heirlooms so I will try to offer some advice as best as possible. I would try to take an afternoon, put a favorite movie on / or a podcast and bring out a box of your child's artwork and go through it and make a few piles...one's you really love - that just catch your eye, love the color etc. and the other's that aren't that eye catching or emotional put them in the toss pile. That should help you be able to get rid of the okay stuff since you have a nice selection of pieces that you love. Then I would make a gallery wall of frames of some of the best pieces and put it in a space in your home that you can enjoy and maybe switch it out yearly. Then just toss the rest. As long as you have some great memories you don't need every single item. You could also scan them but I bet you'll never look at those files. Hope that helps.
Things that have worked for me: * Scanning notebooks, journals, letter/cards, and other papers * Photographing children's art projects (actually *better* than keeping the originals, because kids' art is usually made with inexpensive materials that fade and/or disintegrate over time) * Photographing the stuffed animals your child is no longer interested in, so they know they'll always remember them (and suggesting they consider giving the ones in good condition to their younger cousin or their friend's baby sister, to alleviate the guilt that comes with throwing their former furry "friend" in the trash) * Buying a set of matching banker's box-size containers to hold memorabilia, and allowing myself *one* per period of my life -- i.e., one for childhood, one for high school, one for college, one for the years I lived in New York, etc.. (Bigso makes some really nice file-storage boxes, that somehow hold twice as much as you'd expect -- I was able to keep nearly everything. You only need six or so to contain your whole life. And if you line them up on a shelf, neatly labelled "Childhood"', "High School", etc., you look super-organized, even if what's inside is just a jumbled mess of trinkets and tickets and notes from your friend in fifth grade. :)
My 3 children are grown and have been out of the home for a few years now. My strategy in getting rid of sentimental/childhood things is thinking that when I pass, and my kids gave to go through my stuff, what would they keep? What will they discard? Another thought I use, if I were to move cross country, what would I take with me? What will I toss? I'm definitely not 100% but I'm getting closer. 😉
@@sharyn4271 My mother never kept anything from our childhood except report cards (gives you an idea of her priorities). I was quite an artist as a child and I remember teachers asking if they could keep some of my drawings. I so wish I had some of them.....

So agree with you. Hate the OCDs. Hate minimalism. Not a total clutter bug, but need to do some purging.
My home is cluttered because my husband was injured and lost his job - we had to move into a much smaller affordable place with no garage. Plus I lost my built in book shelves and have stacks everywhere. I thought I was going to be able to use the basement but it flooded. I can deal with it but my hubby has ADD and says it short circuits his thinking.
OMG, you are describing my best friend! I've been trying to get her to clean up and get rid of tons of stuff, and it's an uphill battle. I'm the opposite, I can't stand clutter. I tell her if it's not very sentimental, useful, or a collection it needs to go. But back to what I was saying, you describing the feng shui and the psychology of clutter, wow, that hit the nail on the head!
What comes first - addressing what created the clutter to eliminate the clutter- or - will clearing the clutter eliminate what caused clutter in first place ?!
You need to work from the inside out. Removing clutter without addressing the reason for the clutter will result in 'relapse'. Similar to dieting and over eating.
Excellent, I have to stop shopping at thrift stores, I love finding unique things, but I need to just stop. I have bikes, boat's, skies, several homes full of stuff. Way to many clothes, so much gear. They say wanting is suffering. I love all my stuff, I am active, I love shopping, and I love the outdoors more. I love working and looking nice in front of people. I have music instrumentals, everywhere. I am happy with all my stuff, so many incredible times. I do feel overwhelmed with so much responsibility, homes, cars, stuff. I love my home, I love my collections, as far as others, I don't think their lives could match the active home owner, the doer, not the celebrity person who has to entertain people in their home. I entertain outside my home or at my rich friends home, let them have that neat and tidy home. I will bring the boat, the raft, the fun stuff.
Good thing we don't have a cellar or an attic - Oy! I have clutter everywhere except in the master bedroom (minus the closets), the dining and front room areas nor in my car. I feel the reasons you give for the cluttered areas makes sense.
Loved ur sensible talk..am def subscribing...my tip wud b to always keep a basket/bag and toss things which u wanna throw/give/donate as and whenever u clean..once full it can b sorted and emptied..this way clutter never accumulates.
i have major problems disgarding clothes!!! i try and try decluttering, but i just end up with neatly folded piles of keep clothes .ending in me say "" i have nothing to wear"' im grest in other areas of clearing out organising ect, but i really do struggle / have a big problem with clothes???
Omg you are killing me with these reasonable sounding notions.... ugh... so far I’m checking all the boxes. A massive pile up of tragedies and various crisis-es laid over everyday life of a generally chaotic girl has arrived me at bad place bad time. Must get out of it all asap thanks for the 4-1-1🖤💜🖤💜
The only places I have no clutter are my cellar or attic! Because I live in a one floor apartment. I'm a new subber and really enjoyed this video. It really resonates with me - the reasons for the clutter in those areas. It has woken me up. Thank you.
I honestly have all of the above. I had an abusive childhood and have dealt with that for a long time. I have also been a single mom for 23+ years. It's exhausting, for real. I find that videos like this making me aware and reminding me that this is not good, motivates me to do something. I am getting something done tonight that i have been needing to do rather than just sitting in bed binging on TH-cam. Because of your video. I really kind of hate technology because i could sit here for the rest of my life and never run out of entertaining things to watch. I wish it was less accessible. I have a lot of stuff because i lived the last 10 yrs in a huge 4 bd town house and now stuck in a small 2 bd apt because my landlady sold the property. i have a storage unit i am paying for as well. its 10x25, almost the biggest they have! plus i have enough stuff in my house to fill up another storage that size. not my regular belongings, those are all put away in the apt. i have a ton of boxes still taking up my living and dining area that i have nowhere to put and are taking up my life. How do i get rid of this stuff? I have tried going through stuff and some things are definitely easier to get rid of than others. i have gotten rid of the easiest stuff but still have tons i can't seem to let go of. i feel a lot better after getting rid of stuff but can't seem to let go of certain things. Tfs.
I am getting to my 40s and I am deciding to work on my clutter borderline hoarding issues which my husband has had to deal with and I know he doesn't like it, but deals with my clutter because he loves me. My reasons for hoarding and clutter is my health both physical and mental I have also been a full-time caretaker for years. Every single space in my home is cluttered. I don't know how to live in an uncluttered space. I am ready to let go. I want to stop hoarding. I'm stuck. I hate myself for being like this. Sighs. I need help to let my clutter go.
cherkkiable I feel like that's me, I used to be ocd now I really don't mind but Iam more content than I ever have been and try to be more relaxed but maybe I've went too far on the relaxed and become too lazy about it all? But I suffer from chronic fatigue so that doesn't help at all , think I need to have a routine.
I do too, but not behind doors! How would you open them? According to the vid, clutter everywhere means filled with self-loathing. Ha! I'm not, I am like Wilma--used to be a neat freak. Then I realized how much time was spent freaking and decided I'd rather be doing other things. So now I have clutter and I don't care. Nor do I care what other people think about it. If I can't find something, I spend a bit of time organizing that section. Nothing's perfect, but that keeps the clutter contained and I'm not cleaning house at 2 am anymore, I'm sleeping.
Angel you sound so like what I was , I was washing windows at stupid o'clock at night, if there was company and they had a cuppa tea as soon as they were finished it was gone , anyone came in I instantly felt cluttered, now it's organised chaos ? Lol it's neat and clean just not overboard, I have things on the kitchen table that's not ment to be there and it's OK to be there for a couple of hours where as before I'd be stressing , like you say there's more to do in life my daughter says our stable and the horses stuff are more organised than the house?? Life's too short do what you enjoy if it's a genuine you love to be ocd then that's ok! If you live in what's classed as lived in then that's fine too, as long as your house is clean messy is ok in my book .
This was so helpful. You have really helped me to realize I have been stuck in the past. Also self loathing, I do have clutter all through my house, but thank you, never knew why❤️
Try to find a different location for filming. That bright window behind you is making your camera expose for the room rather than your face. (It's fooling the sensors in your camera into thinking everything is bright.)
I have most of my home in boxes in the attic because we live in my Mother in Law's home for the last 8 years! I am NOT getting rid of my personal belongings.... I have hope to use them again in a new home of my own!
Iluminada Williams But that's different - I wouldn't categorise that as clutter! It will be so exciting to have it all in your own home (and when you do move will be the perfect time to do a declutter- if you feel the need to.) Wayne's wife.
I know how you feel Amy. Several years after my mother died I still had some of her stuff that I knew I would never use. I had to ask myself, "How does this serve me?" what I couldn't give to those that knew and loved her I ended up letting go. I kept a couple (2) of her personal items and a few kitchen items that I knew I would use.
I absolutely can’t handle clutter. I will throw everything away before letting it pile up. But I live with someone that can’t let go of anything, the house looks like all generations before 2000 came in and threw up everywhere. No counter space no flow of anything. My bedroom is my sanctuary.
My Mum has the same problem. I often have to sit with her to give permission to get rid of things. If you have some one who can help you, ask. It's always easier if you can give things to goodwill rather than throwing them out. Remember when they were useful or important to you and then let that go, you're not at that point anymore
I like happy clutter al over. It's another name for eclectic, which is what my house is. If it starts to ;look like annoying clutter such as too many knick knacks, etc, I sell them until I'm comfortable with what there is. I'm fastidious about clean and any kind of article s just randomly lying about the house. It has to be in it's place.
What about if you have stacks of clothes in your bedroom piled on top of 3 boxes you can't seem get around to emptying and clearing away after moving 3 years ago ?
I guess I'm just a procrastinator, I often thing to myself while in my bedroom I'll come up here sometime in the day and start putting things away, but then I'm spend my day downstairs & forget about it 'till next time. I did make an attempt at one box last year, emptied it & felt great to get rid of that box. With the next one it was more tedious stuff in there requiring sorting out, so back to procrastinating lol
lily verschnaetti pretty self explanatory. Do you not know what any of these rooms look like in your home? She didn't talk too much, you're just remedial. Lol
I keep a leather suitcase under my bed to store my off-season clothing (I had to move back home- my childhood room is extremely small). It is the only thing I allow to be under my bed, how does this effect the energy in my room?
I'm new to your channel, and just have to say I LOVE IT! You are so professional and engaging. :) I look forward to your videos each week for inspiration. Keep up the great work!
I took the style quiz and the result was I am "New Traditionalist." The truth of the matter is that I am a clutter bug. So the photos I selected in the quiz were what I found most appealing, but they didn't match my real life.
my clutter in my house, especially my bedroom closet, says I'm way too obsessed with knitting--works-in-progress, knitting needles, bins of yarn to be knit, left over yarn to use for other projects--It's my shoe/handbag/clothes equivalent for some women. Any suggestions, other than the obvious of getting rid of some, which I'm working on, but I'm always going to need a set amount of supplies and tools?? For example I knit for charities throughout the year, but esp at Xmas, knit for gifts, for friends, and even knit for designers to test patterns. If the closet shows unwillingness to deal with emotions, where would a better place to keep hobby supplies? How do designers handle large amounts of hobby supplies?
jayathome, no need take everything she says as true always for sure,, if that's where you keep your art supplies and like them there use it,, nice you help others with your gift of knit, my friend did test knit patterns, her knits were all over the table and she didn't have a problem with that at all.
Well, I/we do not do everything on your list; however, I/we do more than 1. Oh how I wish you were wrong!! I also wish I had found you 3 years ago. Thank you. Seriously, thank you for this; I hope we can examine our personal issues while we dig our way out. [OK, that sounds like we're hoarding which we are not. But we really do have to work at this.]
Hey! I have two very cluttered rooms in my house that indicate an infestation of teenagers!, lol How do I get rid of them, I mean it (the clutter)?? Also I have been using my dining room table as my sorting/organizing/storage area and it's right in the middle of my open concept house. I used to tell myself that keeping it there made me deal with it quickly, but now I'm just sick of the mess! Help me Design Diva!! Where should you store that stuff (ya know like this is for my neighbour and this has to go back to my friend and this has to be returned etc etc)
Take one day this weekend and just do it! I've been there a few times and sometimes you just have to goodwill the heck out of it! Clear your table then go buy yourself flowers and put a big beautiful bouquet on the table and let me know how you feel! Bonus- have a decluttering party with your kids and let them have some type of reward for getting rid of a bunch of stuff. Let them choose a cause or something to give their stuff to so it's positive.
My decor reflects my image; my clutter betrays my truth. This is a whole new way of thinking about housekeeping. Thank you for this.
Susan D cool comment thanks for watching
The Fly Lady was a big inspiration in decluttering and cleaning my home. I was borderline suicidal, it helped me tremendously.
Dang, sounds like it need it too, very depressed from chronic package n. Glad you said that, hope you are doing very w ell!
Love fly lady:)
Your words were very kind towards people who hoard.they do need love.
Clutter under furniture could also mean that you have a preschooler lol
hahahaha, good one!!
someone once told me to just start in one area and clean/declutter....bit by bit.
I own far too many books, all of which I love. My clutter is those books. I’m having a bookcase made to hold them in style.
My main issue is that I never have enough energy or motivation to tidy. I feel tired so often (and I know it sometimes is due to iron/vitamin D though it's hard to keep track of the supplements) and when I do have energy, I have issues focusing on anything that isn't mental. So I usually don't have issues getting stuff done for uni and I can be quite perfectionist for that sort of stuff but when it comes to cleaning or tidying stuff up I feel physically exhausted. Relate to the messy room (my clothes are everywhere, I struggle doing laundry regularly) and the kitchen
thehalfbloodserb I know it’s a late reply, but have you tried The FlyLady? I’m also like you, lack of energy due to my thyroid. But the FlyLady method has been wonderful to me. I only spare 15 minutes (using a timer) decluttering one room per day. When the time’s up, I stop doing everything and go back to my everyday life. Try visiting their site on how start. Forward to @4:53 for the info you came to listen.
Wow this vid popped up so I watched it. I’m one of those with hidden clutter ( closets, cabinets etc)
I related to all the feng shui points you made. I recently did major organization and it was very cathartic, spot on re emotions, procrastination and living in the past. Psychologically I feel much better.
And if you have clutter in lots of places, you’ve got issues! 😉 **goes to clean up a pile**
I am an Interior Designer, photo ready is COLD and TOO PRIVATE... get real, get cozy...
Dayum I’m clutter eff’d!😂
Your video is 11:54 in length and you spent 4:55 in intro. I really, really like your channel but (being very ADD) I start doing something else while waiting for you to get to the topic. I know this is my problem but I have to wonder: How many other ADD potential Subscribers are out there?
Saundra York I do. So I busy myself with comments while I wait. I came across your comment at 4:09 in on the video while Waiting for the point.
my point exactly ^_^
Lmfao.. the struggle is real. My life. I can't even go to the movies anymore. I can't sit still that long and do nothing else at the same time. I don't want to be rude by bringing a light and book, using my phone, or getting up and down to at least find snacks. I'm 31 going on 9.
my earlier videos I agree...more current ones I've shortened them and trying to get to the point quicker. Thanks for the feedback
Mara Willman relate to everything you said. And clutter is an ADHD problem. Have you tried medication? It does help.
Clutter is a sign of depression. I was waiting for you to mention this, but thought I'd put it out there, b/c it is not all so cut and dried...
Not always
It's an anxiety disorder, so yes, there is a depression element.
I’ve found that the nicest people in my life have clutter everywhere. They are far more interested in people than stuff, being on display.
This video is very helpful to me. I am not a hoarder , I am just slow on declutter. When I have to make a decision on what to do I don't do anything with my cluttery mess.
Interesting info to ponder, BUT, I truly feel clutter is a sign of Depression and Not knowing how to let go....holding on to things and not able to be décisive enough to Let it Go....
you're probably right about that
I only just found this today ....thank you .!
Procrastination...that makes sense..
Your simple methods for decluttering gives clarity to setting goals
You are fabulous! I adore your channel. I just found it today and immediately binge watched several episodes. Thank you...thank you...thank you!
Darlene Becker My pleasure so glad you found value in my work
I stumbled across this video and boy it really hit me hard.

DeeDee B I was where you are, even one item per day is a start.
Awe... hope u r on the right track now or at least better than when u wrote this, 👍🏾👊🏾🇳🇬✌🏾
DeeDee B have you thought about getting a professional organizer? They can come in and organize your clutter and you will feel amazing when your things are organized. I live in the DC area and know someone who does this and she is paid by the hour, and is reasonably priced. I could find someone where you live, if you want some support. Hope you are feeling better and more hopeful. You can get help.
I stumbled across your channel and liked what I saw. I have subscribed.
Awe thank you!!
Me, too!
thanks Mari!!

Shena52 amen to that. I stopped my crochet project to listen🙂
You really need a Talk Show!
I do need to get rid of a lot of stuff. I have a hard time with that.
Things that have worked for me:
* Scanning notebooks, journals, letter/cards, and other papers
* Photographing children's art projects (actually *better* than keeping the originals, because kids' art is usually made with inexpensive materials that fade and/or disintegrate over time)
* Photographing the stuffed animals your child is no longer interested in, so they know they'll always remember them (and suggesting they consider giving the ones in good condition to their younger cousin or their friend's baby sister, to alleviate the guilt that comes with throwing their former furry "friend" in the trash)
* Buying a set of matching banker's box-size containers to hold memorabilia, and allowing myself *one* per period of my life -- i.e., one for childhood, one for high school, one for college, one for the years I lived in New York, etc..
Sharyn Braud Thank You Sharyn Braud
@@sharyn4271 My mother never kept anything from our childhood except report cards (gives you an idea of her priorities). I was quite an artist as a child and I remember teachers asking if they could keep some of my drawings. I so wish I had some of them.....
So agree with you. Hate the OCDs. Hate minimalism. Not a total clutter bug, but need to do some purging.
I love this. Thank you so much for this topic
Stumbled across your channel this morning & OMG love your content!! Thank you for sharing all of this information! You're amazing!
Erika Moore thank you!
What are your thoughts on plants in your room? I would love to have some but my home is very dark.
My bedroom is very cluttered, and yeah I wanna escape from so many emotions in my life.
Lv those earrings....
I'm Grateful for this video to day.
12 minute of realizing what the clutter at my place say about my life/me.
Humm.
Thanks
Keep up the good work.
Thank you.
Clutter goes with a Chronic illness.
Very insightful! thank u!! Do u have free class in 2018?
Tfs.
Did you finish declutter? It's a process!
Clutter next to my bed happens when I go though a depressive state. My husband lovingly calls it “my nest.” 😂
sounds like a great husband!
Sighs. I need help to let my clutter go.
good for you! Awareness is half the battle. I am rooting for you and for your success!
what if I have clutter everywhere?😂
cherkkiable I feel like that's me, I used to be ocd now I really don't mind but Iam more content than I ever have been and try to be more relaxed but maybe I've went too far on the relaxed and become too lazy about it all?
Angel Doors? What doors. They got in my way. Make good table tops/work space though.
LOL! Good idea!
This was so helpful. You have really helped me to realize I have been stuck in the past. Also self loathing, I do have clutter all through my house, but thank you, never knew why❤️
I enjoy your presentations! Lovely smile!
This video is old. Do you still do the 30 makeover challenge? I hope so! I need this badly. I just put my name on the waiting list. Thank you !
Not to be rude. 8yrs I bet you will declutter most of those things.do you sometime revisit the boxes?
Yes, john69john1. I will declutter when the time comes to move. Most of my "things" are useful stuff, not junk. Thanks for your comment.
Hope you find your own place soon.
+john69john1 Doesn't matter if it's been eight years ore one year or whatever, when she's ready to get rid of it she will
Very informative. Great show, I learned a lot. Thank you.
I keep all my clutter, books, collections, etc in my office. The rest of the house is junk free.
What do I do with old family photos and heirlooms? My parents are passed away and I feel like I must keep all this “stuff “. Help?!?!
Amy, you might think about a local genealogical society, collections of photos of a whole family are useful in tracing family lines and family ties.
I have the ancestry app and upload the photos to that app so other people in my extended family can see them also.
Also, many families have one person in it that is really into genealogy and would love to keep and preserve those photos
Thankx so much 😇 🙏 😍
It's a little low on the volume
Your style quiz was right on. The first one that has EVER hit me right o .
I absolutely can’t handle clutter. I will throw everything away before letting it pile up. But I live with someone that can’t let go of anything, the house looks like all generations before 2000 came in and threw up everywhere. No counter space no flow of anything. My bedroom is my sanctuary.
that's hard to live with!! I'm sorry.
My mother often told me, "Don't do too much!"---and I find myself blocking my path through the house with piles of stuff....
Did you notice the lamp swinging from your ceiling in the background?
my bedside table and my bathroom counter top are 2 areas that need decluttering.
Excellent video. I have clutter and can’t figure out how to rid myself of it. Not a hoarder. Just stuff that I’m holding on to and not using
My Mum has the same problem. I often have to sit with her to give permission to get rid of things. If you have some one who can help you, ask. It's always easier if you can give things to goodwill rather than throwing them out. Remember when they were useful or important to you and then let that go, you're not at that point anymore
I declutter and decorate with ease.....but I just thought you were charming so I listened.
Loved this video.. made so much sense.. i stuff my clutter under my bed and in our closet.
So much you said about why & where you have the clutter s so true! Interesting! TY!
Thank you!
QueenlySweetpea something is wrong. What is it? Some of this is emotional. Make yourself as comfy as possible at home and start with one box.
Very insightful. Also during this video, I learned my style is New Traditionalist. Awesome!
Omg i have all the clutter and all of these problems. Exept the basement and atticbut because i dont have those two
OMG, this was awesome! I felt like this was straight a read! lol But a well needed read on what clutter came mean. Love it!
Showing some examples would be much better then talking to much.
lily verschnaetti pretty self explanatory. Do you not know what any of these rooms look like in your home? She didn't talk too much, you're just remedial. Lol
Same to you.
I have nothing against the person but I had to switch it off.
Tesha Miller m
I keep a leather suitcase under my bed to store my off-season clothing (I had to move back home- my childhood room is extremely small). It is the only thing I allow to be under my bed, how does this effect the energy in my room?
Those earrings are hypnotic 😵
Fascinating! Loved this!
I'm new to your channel, and just have to say I LOVE IT! You are so professional and engaging. :) I look forward to your videos each week for inspiration. Keep up the great work!
Linda P thanks for watching and you're lovely comments!
Hi, I like your channel, it’s very helpful! Keep doing it and show some more examples if possible. I subscribed, yessss!!
Hey, did you update your clutter class. Iim in trouble. 8 have a great house if only I could see it.
I glad I found cuz I love keep my house clean like it to smell nice I even buy the air
Hi, will you be doing your class again? Thank you for this video!
I have a new thing that I'm working on. If it's interesting send me a dm through instagram :) . www.baiyina.com/society
Great video. learned a lot!
Judgements! Acceptance is key.
I like your channel, I binged watch your videos.
I took the style quiz and the result was I am "New Traditionalist." The truth of the matter is that I am a clutter bug. So the photos I selected in the quiz were what I found most appealing, but they didn't match my real life.
that's ok. you can use my info as a guide and make small changes over time if you feel like you want to
my clutter in my house, especially my bedroom closet, says I'm way too obsessed with knitting--works-in-progress, knitting needles, bins of yarn to be knit, left over yarn to use for other projects--It's my shoe/handbag/clothes equivalent for some women.
But we really do have to work at this.]
apparently I am a total mess lol
I cannot disagree
I’m watching this video as I clean out my closet 😶
