Barbara and Carolina are such a joy to watch, so experienced, so clear in their roles and playing to their strengths. We should appreciate these veterans who have impacted our sport for so many years.
If it is 2016 Rio Olympics Barbara, and if Carol had better receptions at the end of set 2, this match would just ended with an easy 2-0 for the Brazillians. I really like Carol's quick transition from defense to offense and it reminds me of her mother: Isabel Salgado, who played as an outside hitter back in the days. Not only Carol looks like her mother and has approximately the same height, but plays like her mother as well especially her spikes and receptions. Carol just looks like a younger version of her mother when playing beach volleyball if you know what I am talking about.
Barbara and Carolina were not partners at the 2016 Olympics, so your hypotheticals are a bit odd. I agree with the rest of what you wrote, though: Isabel Salgado and her children might be the most renowned family of beach volleyball.

@@SadDetonator I am actually excited about that as well! Honestly, I have more hope in Carol than Maria Clara since she is the one that resembles more like her mother, who is Isabel Salgado. Physically Isabel is 5'11 and Carol is 5'10, both have quick transition from defense to offense and court coverage is on par with some of the shorter defenders out there, which makes them very unique. What also impresses me is that both Carol and Isabel are very technically complete players that are able to do many things such as digging, blocking, etc at a certain level on the court. I really like to watch Carol play at a professional level.
