Great Danes are the most awesome dogs around. I love the fact that they think they are still lap dogs. They can knock things around a bit but their personalities are what makes them so awesome

When my sons were 8 and 12, I got a Great Dane for my wedding anniversary. Best gift I had in my entire life. She lived to be 13, yes 13. Thanks to that breeder. I will never have another one as it would be unfair to that animal because she left such a deep impression of love and happiness that no other Great Dane could ever fill.
Agreed, best dog breed ever when it comes to adorable and also very protective! My 15 year old GD is just a big hound! We’re spending our last days, maybe weeks together now, but been so blessed to have this big baby in my life! Forget about it!
I have two 9 mos old puppies and hands down already my most favorite dogs of all time. After them I can’t ever see myself owning any other breed! They are the sweetest most loving dogs of all time!
Love Danes! My boy Groot is 4 and he’s 180lbs. He drinks from the fridge. Not the inside, the outside. He turns his head sideways and pushes the button with his nose then drinks as it comes out. It makes a huge mess but we love him so he gets a pass. ❤️

I have 7 and feed full raw. I spent $100 more on dog food every 3 weeks when we had two boxers and one dane. Lol. It's a misconception that danes eat as much as people think.

Each of mine weigh between 132 at the lowest and 181 at the highest for my boy... they eat about 4 lbs of raw each a day and I spend less on raw than I would in kibble. With two boxers a bag of kibble was lucky to last me 4 days, with 7 danes if I was feeding kibble it would still last me 4 days. Let me guess, you free feed your dane? But you're right, your experience with one great dane trumps my 20 years of experience with multiples and 7 years of breeding them... 😂

I think it's more of a mastiff thing than just danes, well to me anyway. I have an old school italian mastiff, not a cane corso, or a Neapolitan, but mastino italino, or cane da presa is it's real name. My boy loki reminds me of a leaner, more athletic english mastiff. To me, it's the goofyness i love, especially when they're younger. After him, i'll have nothing else but now, so i get what you mean by you find that particular breed/type and it just becomes your favourite.

You have such beautiful dogs. We rescued one, years ago but had to take him back shortly after as he ended up biting my Dad and almost going for me too! The problem was that he had come from a family that gave him absolutely 0% discipline/training all his life (he was approximately 1 year old) and so he'd always ruled the roost and was totally used to doing as he pleased. We knew that Danes are a proud and intelligent breed, so we were patient, affectionate, caring - yet firm - with him but he was starting to bully our other two dogs...and the cats! Broke my heart when we took him back, but we were informed that he went on to the Great Dane Rescue, so his next owner would've been owners with knowledge of the breed, which was of some small comfort at least 😊 Plus, he was still quite young, so an experienced Dane owner would have been able to 'work out the kinks' in his personality, let him know where he _actually_ stands in the pecking order and he'd have been absolutely fine there after, I'd bet. ☺ Our breed of choice has mostly been St. Bernards - _another_ wonderful, gentle giant - but I'd still like to have a Great Dane again some day.
I grew up with Great Danes. We had a big black one with a white star on his chest and a fawn colored one named Hamlet and a Harlequin named Sofie. They are the best dogs!❤️

Ah, I love them! So cute. A friendly thought: I’m a veterinary nurse and when Great Danes get sick it is EXPENSIVE because of their size. I highly recommend pet insurance! With healthypets it can be as low as 45 a month and they pay 90% of your veterinary costs! It’s so sad when pets are euthanized because treatment is not affordable even if the treatment is simple and would save a pets life

The sad part is they don't live long enough. My first dog that I ever bought was a blue merle great dane when I was 18. That dog only had eyes for me. Didn't matter who else was around, she paid them no mind. I had to put her down 1 week shy of 10. She had cancer and was wilting away. I struggled with the decision bc I didn't want to put her down until she was ready, but I also didnt want to have her suffer. I will never forget Gilly-Ann.
Oh wonderful life full of Danes. 💕 Give them a squeeze from me. We have given our achey senior Danes Rx Meloxicam and it helps with pain. It is very cheap and vet approved. Some vets give Tramadol but it made me not feel right mentally when I tried it so I wont give it to my dogs. Meloxicam was a game changer with 3 senior danes to make the last year or two more manageable. I think with our next ones we will not give them grain or unhealthy oils to reduce inflammation. Meat, healthy fat, and maybe some potato or maybe even a keto diet if I can swing it. We cant have our next Danes for 2years but I want 3. Thanks for showing us your babies.
My wife and I have had Danes since 1981, at least 1 or more at a time. We have a blue female, Ellie and a black female Gracie. We also have 4 other dogs, a Golden, a Australian sheperd, a pit mix and a black lab golden mix.

We have a family of four great Danes - dad who is 10, mum who is 6, Kato is one son of 3 and Sox the baby at 22 months! It's mad and crazy but they are so loving and caring and don't take up as much room as you would think. The painful bit is when an 85 kg dog sits on you for a cuddle!
I have a hamster named Oakley who IS the troublemaker as well. He’s gotten out 4 times in 2 months! I call him Oki Bear though😉 I also have 3dogs who are my absolute best friends,I have no idea where I’d be without them❤️ Prancer is a sheprador, Comet a mutt, and Sailor a five lb Miki! We recently rescued a 'senior' dog about 10 years old now. He was passed off as a Lab but he's 75% Dane trust me!! What a huge cuddly baby too!

Wow 😮 since I was 14 a Great Dane has been my DREAM dog!! I have 3 children so I haven’t got one YET 😆 I have a presa canario X American bull dog pup at the minute. One day I’ll get a Great Dane they are the most beautiful dogs I’ve ever seen 💕💕

We have a family of four great Danes - dad who is 10, mum who is 6, Kato is one son of 3 and Sox the baby at 22 months! It's mad and crazy but they are so loving and caring and don't take up as much room as you would think. The painful bit is when an 85 kg dog sits on you for a cuddle!

I have a hamster named Oakley who IS the troublemaker as well. He’s gotten out 4 times in 2 months! I call him Oki Bear though😉

I have just your typical garden-variety floppy-eared rescue hound, but have always liked Great Danes. I'm glad you didn't crop their ears. I think they look much better with floppy ears!
