This is the best reactor themed map, you know why? Purely from the sound design. A lot of maps, hell, even the majority of mods dont pay attention to their sound design. Your map plays like it feels alive
Yeah, i spent a lot of time making my own sounds and looking for them online. The only problem is that people complain about their ears dying because the sounds are just so lound. And the resource pack weights 50 megabytes....
@@jona2395 well, at the end of the day a similar thing is what you hear when you operate complicated machinery, a lot of mods take that for granted and silence is too boring tbh.
This reactor is kept under extremely high pressures via. the core shield, which lowers the temperature required for fusion, but also allows for a deadly overload
@@jona2395 well even then if you have a pressure vessel failure it's not going to be radioactive at all, the plasma expands and cools and becomes virtually benign in milliseconds, and you aren't fusing heavy enough elements to make unstable isotopes

This map is overwhelmingly impressive, and I got so excited when I recognized Panic Track from the Hacknet OST starting to play after the shield failure! The song really captures the frantic feeling of the situation.
I was under the impression that fusion reactors couldn’t really explode. At least, not more than popping and releasing some gasses. I also thought that laser based fusion couldn’t really generate more energy than it required. All that aside though, very neat map, crazy that you were able to do all that in vanilla.
And it can to my knowledge, just massively more manageable than a fission reactor, as fissile products would continue reacting after explosion and leak radiation everywhere, while fusion is just heat and pressure

Unlike fission reactions, fusion reactions quickly die when we switch it off. Otherwise, impressive build and I cant wait to see more!
This was cool to explore. Are you going to add more things like black mesa style? Living quarters, a cafe, etc. underground. A reactor this big underground would 100% have those things.

Hey Jona. So, I got a message from a user saying that my map was a knockoff of yours. Then they highlighted a comment about inspiration, basically saying that because there happens to be 2 advanced reactor-based maps published, that the one published before was a copy. Now, I started building this before I heard about your map, and then when I published it about a year ago, I saw your map and became inspired. But afterwards, I thought about making something completely original. So I made a copy of my old reactor map and added my own features and redid basically everything. I thought of the idea of a voltage output monitoring system instead of a simple temperature monitoring system, and got really deep in commands as I went on. But just today, it looks like the older version of my map was accidentally too similar to yours, causing conflict with users who played my map. So now I’m only wondering from the maker of that map, was it or is it still too similar?
I think that was just the extremely terf obsessed guy who complains about everything and i told him to stop. Dont worry about the measurement stuff like temperature,pressure,spin etc. they are standard stuff and can be used anywhere. I think the main reasons of him complaining is because of the "chat broadcast layout" being simlar and the classic andesite floors. Right now im working on a complete rework (once again) so people can just slap the datapack in their servers or/survival worlds and they can build their own facilities and reactors anywhere in the world with working pipe,wire physics and stuff. If your interested we could maybe collab in developing that because right now im the only one working on it

Isn’t the whole benefit of fusion reactors is because they can’t meltdown and explode? To my understanding, if something were to happen, the fusion reaction would just die out and you’d have to restart the reaction again. It’s just magnetized condensed plasma no?
The benefit of them is that they practically create no nuclear waste. This isnt a magnetic confinement reactor, its actually pressurized via a spherical force field around it to really high pressures to make the fusion more efficient

He said the reason copper cores like this meltdown is cuz once they oxidize enough the copper rods explode
This reminds me of Draconic Evolution's reactor meltdown but way more realistic and cooler, but DE has a bigger fireball and crater
the explosion of this is considerably larger than the Draconic Reactor's, the map constrains just dont allow it

Just put gold,dia or netherite debris in the lubricator and make sure its not broken or turned off
