The review is spot-on. Essentially the main goal of the car is to save you money. I have had an Aygo for 5-years now. 130 000km later and as reliable as you can get. Fun and easy to drive, easy to park in those tight spaces, very fuel efficient (my Aygo has returned 18km/L on average over the past five years), inexpensive to maintain, and the seats are very comfortable. Perfect for the city. To be honest, space is restricted but then I just pop down the back seats for those weekends when I have some extra luggage. I would definitely recommend this car to any new driver, student and/or young professional. Come to think of it, I would love to get my hands on this new model.
I've driven this car 82,000 miles (91,500 miles on the clock now). Mines a 2012 Aygo and It averages 71mpg and mine uses 600mls of oil every 5,000 miles. I change the oil every 5,000 miles and I haven't had any issues. I started with the recommended 10,000 mile oil change interval but thought the oil condition didn't look that great at that mileage (it had sludge at the bottom of the sump, which is no longer present on 5,000 mile oil changes). I'm hoping to push this car past 200,000 miles. I may change the timing chain before then though as even though they say it lasts the life of the car I can't say I trust it to last more then 150,000 miles. I drive roughly 15,000 miles a year so it'll be due in about 4 years. I recently reapplied a new layer of underbody paint too, there wasn't much more then a bit of surface rust but it's better to prevent it then fix it.
These cars are no longer being produced. Toyota have released the Aygo X to replace it which is a larger car with the same 1L petrol engine. The 108 and C1 are no longer available either.
The clutch's behaviour is completely unacceptable. The car starts every time kicking unless you rev it up like a complete amateur. It's so frustrating that after a few months' use i regret having bought it. And nobody seems to talk about it though i would like to have an answer from someone with more knowledge so as to understand why the car drives like this. Is it faulty material? I ve noticed other cars on the streets and they all seem to have the same bahaviour. Why toyota why?
I have a 2014 toyota Aygo (1.0 3 cylinder engine) with just over 50,000 miles. Its been diagnosed by toyota as using between 0.8 a 1 litre of oil per 1000 miles (tested twice so far). Toyota says its within their specification and they will not investigate unless its 1ml over 1 litre per 1000 miles... For those that didn't know, this is stated in your toyota handbook and its what you agreed to when you purchased the vehicle from toyota or its within toyota warranty !!!
This car worth 5 VW ups. VW ups 60bhp engine is utter shite! You have to spend over 16k to get a UP that has cruise control, what a joke!!! Just don't get the aygo with sunroof.

from under the bonnet, it looks like theyve gone from electric direct power steering (on 2015-2018 models) to a electric hydraulic pump in 2018?
