Hi Karen I am in favor of protective styles for my natural hair. I can only afford to get braids or crochet braids every few months. Heat is only applied to my hair with a blow dryer to prep for a protective style or every three months when it’s time for a trim. What I want to know is this: how often can I blow dry my hair in between protective styling? Is once a week on wash day too much? I normally wear a wash and go style, but I don’t always feel like applying tons of product to make it last. Thanks for your advice.
Hey Denise! I would say no more than once per week. And, if you can, you can let your hair air dry a bit first, then use the blow dryer to stretch it out some this way it is less heat.
Hello there! I keep it on protective styles and when I wear it out I heavily moisturize and seal / coat strands with a thicker butter. I will do a video on this as well
