70.3 WORLD CHAMPS - 7th Place! My best race in years

- 7th Place at Ironman 70.3 World Championships in St George, Utah!! This is one of the biggest results of my career, and it came on the heels of a very challenging season, where I really haven't been performing at the level I believe I'm capable of. I really doubled down on my training the last few months, adopting a new strength routine, prioritizing workouts over everything else, and just generally doing a lot of the little annoying things that can fall by the wayside as life gets busy.

Just shows you that no matter how many set backs, frustrating races, and feelings of being left behind while others succeed, you can always work your way out of it and have an even better payoff. HAVE A DAY ERIC!

Great Job Eric. That 7th doesn't reflect how close it was. Taking away Gustav who was on fire. About 4 minutes separated 2 thru 9 so great battles right to the end. Long time follower and so happy for you. Sad to say that you easing off the filming for channel helped you focus on your goal (sad for us as viewers but more than happy for you). I would like to wish you an Irish good luck "go n-éirí an bóthar leat" (translation:- “May the road [i.e. the journey] be successful for you”) But as the saying goes " the more I train the luckier I get", So go get lucky both of you. I will be following. Keep it up

It was great to see Eric have a good race in a competitive field. Even though Paula has been injured you can tell the mood of both of you is alot lighter. You both seem to be more relaxed.

Eric, it's been fun watching your growth as an amazing filmmaker through the weekly videos (you have a wonderful touch with them), but seeing you have a great two races (also Xterra US Champs) is a special treat. It's also great fun to see Paula in super race supporter mode. I'm also fortunate to have a fantastic supporter at races and it's difficult to describe how much more meaningful it is knowing someone is there pulling hard for you.
