  • This is my 2017 Club Car Carry All 500 electric golf cart. I picked it up over the summer for $1000. On the first video we got it running and cleaned it up. On this video we modify a Allsports 10" Lift kit to fit on it. However on the website it says it wont work. I also adapted the brakes to fit the lift kit as well. This isnt finished but we have a good start on it.

That’s coming along quite nicely. Can’t wait to see the finished product and hear the details on the new lithium.

I have a 2012 carryall with dump. Love it. It also has a Curtiss cab on it. Somebody put a lot of money in it.

@@Fentertainment how did you drill the hole on the brake bracket? I’m trying to do the same thing and how much did you have to measure stuff

@@dmax9731 The front brake bracket? I just cut it off the stock spindle like shown in the video. I then grinded the weld down and opened it up with a step bit with a drill press to match the od of the new spindle. I cant remember off hand what the measurement was.

I just bought a ds carryall 6 and i can’t find a lift kit for it anywhere so looks like I might be doing this same thing this weekend

Loved the new project and the direction you're headed. I probably would have drilled out the tie rod and drag link holes for the larger tie rods.
I absolutely agree with the way you went about the front brake kit mounting. That will work out a whole lot better. Once we get these huge wheel and tire packages it makes stopping in a panic a real problem. Don't redrill the springs, just redrill the lift block locating pin hole. The springs are hardened or at least tempered.
But you're right. You are going to have to go bigger on the tires.....I've got a set of Escalade wheels that are going to end up on a cart one way or another

Thats actually a better idea! Thank you Sir.

Agree with you on the tires and wheels, they look good on a regular size cart. Amazing how small they look on that beast. Still they look good but bigger would look better I think. The lift help the looks tremendously. No doubt it will look bad ass when you are done.

Interesting project, when doing something like this and you decide to sell it are you concerned about failure, injury and getting sued if something you do causes damage or injury?
In the video from a few months ago you wondered about the purple wire at the key switch, its for a 3 position key switch (mode 2) in the controller allowing you to have two different setting based on key switch position.
What do you do with factory take-off parts such as the motor and controller?
Top speed from Club Car on the 1520L is 17mph until you change the tire size. Club Car has Curtis preset the Motor RPM/ Vehicle MPH to 217 on the 500's. If it were a 550 (factory lifted) or 502 (smaller tire size than 500) the setting would be different. The speed is set to these limits to ensure the vehicle can stop at the required distance when fully loaded.
If/when you work on another Carryall (gas or flooded led acid battery) with an electric bedlift and the battery(s) are dead. Crawl under the rear of the vehicle, disconnect the two wires (bullet connectors) going to the bedlift actuator and with jumper wires and a 12 volt battery you can raise/lower the bed. To change direction of the lift change polarity.
    Good luck, be careful.

Usually I dont sell my projects that I have modified like this. I really only sell standard run of the mill bolt on flips. This one will not be as big as my DS but will still be a fun cart to have for my collection. I keep the stock motor and controllers that I remove from all of my carts and use them on non running carts that I find. Couple videos back I installed a precedent excel motor/controller on a DS that was originally a regen 2 cart. Nice little upgrade when you have the parts.

@@Fentertainment I saw the ERIC system DS video this morning. I have done that conversation a couple times myself but use the IC (eric) charger by removing the 3 screws on the receptacle and using the DS bezel. Good videos. If you have questions let me know I maybe able to point you in the right direction.

So is there really no lift kit at all thats designed for these models? I have a 2016 carryall500, and want to put a slight lift for larger tires and a wider stance. I use it around the farm and I'm trying to make the cart fit the wheel paths of my rows and be a bit higher. What should I look for when buying a lift kit? Any lift kit for a DS?

I think the sgc lift for the ds carryall will work but I waited and waited but they never came available.

Could you talk about or make a video about my issue. My 2023 Club Car Tempo-gas/EFI doesn’t work in reverse when I switch the lever to reverse, but… makes the beep sound. If I hold the reverse level by hand in reverse position, all the way back, It works. Do you know the cause and how to fix. Thanks

Check to make sure the cables aren’t binding, remove the seat and shift it and so if you can see what’s not engaging. Had a similar problem with a gas ezgo a while back. The cable wasn’t engaging in forward but I could engage it manually and it worked fine. Sounds like a similar issue. I’m not big on gas carts.

Go into the back access panel. You will see the shifter cable going to the transaxle. You will see two jam nuts. Most like a simple adjust with those will correct your issue with shifting to reverse.
