What one can do with existing plans and foam board is phenomenal. Its not difficult at all. Free plans from Flite Test were great, but for anyone who cares to listen, we know why their access is in need of rethinking. Thankfully there’s an exhaustive history of aircraft and plans to do
LET'S DO THIS!!! No more whining on the FT Fans FB page. Grab some free plans from one of the links below and follow along with Joshua to build it FT style. Then bring it to Flite Fest 2022 and JOIN US!!! Free Plans: aerofred.com/ outerzone.co.uk/ scale-model-aircraft.com/free-plans-drawings
Josh, I love this video. I have been a subscriber for a little while and have absolutely loved the content. I have am a member/supporter of the FTCA because I believe in their mission and the quality of people that support Flite Test such as yourself and Andre. You posses the qualities of a really good teacher. I hope this comment in some small way is an encouragement to you. Thank you for the video. Mike
Brilliant! I’ve built a few foam board planes by adapting balsa plans, and they’ve all flown great! What a fantastic idea to show people how to do this themselves.
I thought everyone built that way 🤣 That kind of thing is right up my street but unfortunately I'm in the UK....would love to be at Flitefest with you all with a bipe
I've got a power 90 and some large electronics leftover from an old plane... Was already thinking of doing a 1/4 scale or so foamboard dr1 for FF22. Maybe its time?
Man I hear you on the lack of foamy WW1 planes! This is exciting! I want to build a Fokker D7 like your D8. Not top gun quality but decent details! Thanks for publishing this series! Is the Tumalesa 1/9? Looks a little smaller than your D8. Also do you think the foamy struts are strong enough? I was thinking really thin wood or ply with steel wire in center for struts? I like where this is going! Thanks again!
It's not that. They had companies ripping off their plans to make their own speed build kits, then falsely selling/marketing them as being official. Customers thought these sub-standard kits were actual FT kits and were calling FT for support, refunds, etc... So bad actors ruined it. All the existing published plans are still available.
How am I just now finding you sir???? Love your work man and I'll be bingeing for sure, thank you sir and keep up the great content
Seems WWI planes are best for stable flight compared to WWII. Really wanted to see more of the biplane in your thumbnail. It was beautiful
