Your laugh is so wonderfully infectious! My best elevating idea is not a piece of clothing or accessory. It is music! Listening to upbeat dance music , whether it be a cha-cha, swing, latin etc. picks me up, and l then l feel like dressing and accessoriesing! When it is ten below zero here in Wisconsin, l have to really layer up. In the past l suffered from severe clinical depression and would want to just get my errands done without thinking about my clothes. Baggy thick sweat suits, cloddy boots, etc. But l found that forcing myself to dress chic and warm elevated my mood. I still have bouts now and then but dressing well, listening to great music, and finding fun clips to laugh at help me get thru. Thank you for another fun and informative post, Marie-Anne.😊

Yes. Silk is very warm. I enjoy the feeling of silk next to my skin. Use silk as a base layer. Very nice for all seasons. Wearing scarves is my personal touch before leaving the house. I’ve been collecting scarves for as long as I can remember. They make me feel beautiful and add so much interest.

BTW we have a new product in Australia called CLUTCH Glue, it is so handy to have, if it's a stubborn bra strap or too reveling neckline , you can apply a small amount of this product to clean dry skin where you'd like to stick your clothes, you only need to use a tiny drop. It's a friendly vegan product and you can just wash your skin with water and it comes out when you wash your clothes normally. So handy to have. I used to work with a very elegant lady. She wore her allocated uniform as a phlebotomist for our in hospital pathology company. She wore sensible black heels, often with pearl ear rings and always with a little scarf around her neck that matched the uniform colours. A more french chic styled Australian you will never find. One day i saw that the company had given her scrubs to wear instead of a blouse and skirt. I commented that she could even make scrubs look elegant. Unfortunately i never saw her again after that and i wonder if its the scrubs fault that we lost our elegant phlebotomist.
Yesterday, I went to a college luncheon. I wore a pair of stretchy pants (one size up since I wasn't sure of the sizing) - purple with blue suede shoe booties, a purple long sleeved t shirt and a vintage bright yellow with little butterfly. My makeup was very minimalized -- I was a subdued fashion hit. Plus, since it was cool out and we walked a few blocks to the luncheon across campus, I wore my vintage Sherlock Holmes cape. WOW n how.
When I wore pearls like those it immediate aged me. A gold short chain in multiples with a small peral- natural or baroque better- elevates in a more modern way.

I don't have anything that is silk. I can't find anything that is silk in southeastern Illinois. I would like to have a few silk scarves and a blouse or two I like to see and feel what I buy, not just order from a catalog or online. What are your suggestions?
