It is so interesting to hear Arvind Swamy sir and other south indian actors speak.. because unlike the bollywood actors giving interviews is not so common for them.. These actors are hence much more honest in the little interviews that they give..and ofcourse Rangan sir is excellent as an interviewer with deep knowledge in this field.
Jenny Oommen lol you make south Indian actors sound like some African tribe not having access to anything. Interviews and talk shows and promotions are as common in the south as they are in the north. Just that serious, well thought out responses are respected in the south whilst humour is appreciated in the north. Just differences in what people like.
Avi Arun I only meant in comparison to bollywood. You are reading too much into it.. As a south indian ( and a huge south indian movie industry fan) Staying in Mumbai..It is just my humble observation.
True and one other thing that I have noticed is ,other than shows like Guftagoo , film companion's and Rajeev Masand's interviews , nobody talks about the craft /art cinema is . Most of the interviews are about their personal lives and stupid rapid fire games

We hear a lot about beauty with brains but this guy is handsome with brains. Most would think his charisma emanates from his looks, but it's actually from his intelligence! His humility and a clarity about reality is what makes him stand out in this very fake industry! This is probably the first I actually sat through the full interview of a film personality! The first hint of exaggeration or pompousness I would quit watching! But this one was genuine and brutally honest! Some gems in this interview that makes his beautiful mind obvious: Everyone had evolved as a person Darkness doesn't come because there is darkness inside. There is a bit of me in everything! Mani was at his craziest at that time! Watch and enjoy! You can't duplicate that! An experience is meant to be different! Its not meant to be successful! The easiest was probably the most difficult! When there is nothing pushing you is when you fail! You have to curtail that and make sure that you are sincere to what is required! Its not about what you are capable of. Its not an exhibition! Its my legacy and...nobody gonna remember you! (24:44) What happens after that? I'll decide after four years! He really respected it as a visual medium, right?! Mr Rangan u must shorten your questions.... Ur questions are pretty much longer than the answers... This format is not impressive... U bring in a lot of references when you ask the questions, you could simply let the person to bring in references to his past works if he feels so..
