I recently moved to Pennsylvania. New state (oops, "Commonwealth"), new town (err, "Borough") and new thrift stores to explore, but besides that nothing much should change once I free up some time to make new videos. Well, I did change the logo.

It's been quite a while since I have traveled through a Pennsylvania tunnel.
I'm glad your family has made it safely.

    Cool and what long tunnels!

I love the tunnels, not something I encounter every day!

Straight roads? Weird. We don't see many of those in Scotland. We'd take 20-30 mile meandering detours around the hills, not go through them, and add interesting features, like potholes. Pennsylvania looks like a nice place!

Well that does sound scenic 🙂 There's lots of winding and hilly roads in Pennsylvania, and those are free to take. The Turnpike where I recorded this is a toll road, and this is what you're paying for - straighter roads and a shortcut through the mountains!

@@ThriftStoreBiblesI passed through a couple of Toll Roads on my one and only trip to the US, going from Detroit to Amherst MA. We briefly had a Toll Bridge in Scotland, the Skye Bridge (or in Gaelic: Drochaid an Eilein Sgitheanaich), but there were lots of protests. Same concept $$££. The Chinese name for America is, Měiguó, literally meaning, "beautiful country", and I could see why on my visit.

I strongly object to you leaving Ohio. But I see it's done now, so I can stop objecting.
That seems a way calmer trip through those tunnels than the last time I went that way.

@@DavidWilson-hd6iz I looked up the Skye Bridge, that was interesting. It seems the fees were quite excessive! Pennsylvania's Turnpike is not cheap, but the alternatives can be a bit treacherous and time consuming, especially in bad weather. I used to avoid it and take the back roads when I traveled on my own but now that I have a baby I don't risk it.
There is a lot of beautiful country here, I do regret I didn't travel more when I was younger and had more time. I do hope someday to visit the Southwestern USA and drive through Texas and New Mexico, I'd love the see the deserts out there.

@@ThriftStoreBiblesThere's something strangely alluring about deserts. Hope you get to do that road trip some day. Those ancient Pueblo villages look pretty amazing too!

If and when traveling the Pa Turnpike, pray to whomever you pray to that when you are traveling the Pa Turnpike that there isn't a traffic collision and or on the more extreme side a fatality within one of those tunnels......will make for a very long day/journey.

I've been fortunate not to run into that on the Turkpike, but I did get held up on 322 somewhere in PA a few years ago due to an accident. Made for a late night.

@@ThriftStoreBibles born in Akron Oh, have lived in Southeastern Pa most of my life, have done the full length probably 60+ times west and east..... unfortunately I've encountered that situations more than I'd like, usually at Allegheny and not so much Kittatinny and Blue.

@@MLKraszewski That's a lot of travel across PA. I'm from Northeast Ohio originally and from there took the more northern routes to Lancaster PA. Only done the turnpike a couple times. There will be plenty more trips in the future so unfortunately I'm sure I'll get stuck again some day.

@@ThriftStoreBibles since they bumped the limit up on 76 it moves better, but, 80 is cheaper (no tolls), only about 10 minutes slower at this point and I feel a better drive.

@@MLKraszewski I took 80 to 322 to 283 to Lancaster many times when I lived in NE Ohio, it was approx. the same amount of time and no tolls of course. But 322 is where I got stuck when there was a crash, I forget where I was but it was fairly remote and near a mountain. Turning around and rerouting was going to take just as long as sitting and waiting.
