    Of all the Filipino dishes, kung pipili ako ng isang ulam lang na kakainin ko buong buhay, Tinola yun. It's my ultimate comfort food.
    Tinola is my all time favorite ulam to cook and to eat. Everytime matikman ko to it brings out so much joy to me and makes me feel like a child hahaha. I don't know why may nagiging controversy dito but what I only think is.
    They don't know how to make it.
    Tinola is love, Tinola is life, pare.

    Tinola is very special for me because it screams home. I always request Tinola from my mom whenever I go home sa province kahit niluluto ko naman siya sa bahay ko. 😂 Idk, it comforts me.

    Tinola is my favorite comfort food. Pinapaalala ng Tinola ang pagmamahal ng MAma ko. Whenever I miss her nagluluto ako ng TInola at pag may sakit kami ng anak ko Tinola ang katuwang namin sa paghilom. Yung mga may ayaw sa Tinola usually ayaw ng ginger . Need lang ng taste buds nila na ma aquire ang taste, kung gusto lang nila turuan sarili nila KUNG gusto nila matuto.
    Minsan luto ko sa Tinola eh may grated na luya with oil, hinhiwalay ko ang sabaw sa chiCken parang Hainanese style ba. MAsarap with malunggay at madaming sili. The best pag nilagyan mo ng sili mismo pag kakain na with patis.
    Sarap ng Tinola, love this food na alam ko binanggit yan ni Jose Rizal sa Noli or El FIli. ibig sabihin sa KAstila na dish natin yan namana . Ginamit ni Jose Rizal ang parte ng manok sa pagtrato sa bisita yun ang natatandaan ko sa libro di ko lang matandaan lang kung san Libro nabanggit. Anyway classic ang TInola. Bata masarap yan .

    Your episode of tinola made me realize this: Tinola is the best example na dapat ang luto ay nilalaanan ng oras para maging masarap. Di pwede yung pagsamahin mo lang ingredients tapos haluin ng five minutes tapos tapos na. Hindi siya tulad ng adobo may lasa kaagad kahit hindi patagalin kasi may toyo at suka na. Give it time. Give it love. Dun lalabas best lasa niya. 😍

      dear, medyo i write as i think kaya pasensya na kung mahaba ang comment ko, hindi kasi ako nag o-organize muna ng thoughts bago magsulat...okay dear...ganito...
      yung sinabi mo ay siguro ang isa sa dahilan bakit marami ang di nakakapagluto nang maayos, i mean, kung bakit marami ay di nabibigyan ng justification ang ating mga pinoy na putahe...kung bakit ang ibang pinoy dishes ay di masarap ang pagkaluto keysa sa iba....
      yung technique na pagsamahin lahat tapos haluin for five minutes ay okay na....alam mo, merong mga dishes na pwede yan eh...merong mga dishes na angkop yang technique na yan...pero alam mo sa tingin ko, angkop yan sa mga lutong visayan...at i have nothing against visayan dishes, i think they're really great and one of the best....promise! ang sikreto sa luto nila ay yung ease of preparation, one..but moreso, is the freshness of ingredients...and yung piling pili yung mga ingredients kaya kahit konti lang ang ingredients at ang bilis lang gawin dahil pagsamahin at haluin lang, masarap talaga...
      anyway, dito kasi sa bandang katagalugan, lalo na sa kamaynilaan...lahat dapat igisa....nasa paggisa ang sikreto....at yung dapat ay hindi masyadong maraming likido sa umpisa, at least sa umpisa, para umangat ang lasa ng bawat ingredient at umangat yung mantika....yan ang di alam ng marami kaya di nila maluto maayos ang mga putahe...kasi ang turo sa kanila, pag maalat dagdagan tubig, pag matabang dagdagan asin...that is, really wrong. kasi ang damidami nang tubig at ang damidami nang asin, di pa rin ma achieve ang lasa eh!
      yung mga ilokano naman, iba din ang way of cooking nila....sila pala yung classic na pagsamasamahin ang mga ingredients then haluin konti pag papaluto na! sila talaga ang malapit na pinsan ng mga bisaya eh, hehehe....pareho sila ng paraan eh, heeheheh... pagsamahin lahat tapos haluin konti, hehehe....ang mga ilokano din kasi, parang galit sa pleasure yan, di lang sa pagkain pero sa lahat yata ng bagay...ayaw nila ng anything extravagant and lavish, kahit putahe...gusto laging tinitipid lahat, ingredients, apoy, kaya ayaw ng pinapatagal lutuin kasi aksaya sa apoy, init, sa mantika, etc....pero sa mahihirap na ilokano yan, pag daw kasi ang ilokano yumaman, bumabaliktad ang ugali, nagiging lavish and extravagant na...anyway...
      yung lutong pampanga naman, iba rin yan...di ko lang gaano alam masyado pero base sa konting narinig ko, gusto nila maraming ingredients...meron din sila kung anuanong techniques para mas lalong sumarap, yung sila yung tipong hindi titigil hanggat hindi sobrang sarap or pangpyesta or panghandaang malupit ang putahe, yung ganon yata eh, ewan ko , search pa ko more, heheheh...
      so ang tinola, atbp putaheng pinoy, pag dinala sa maynila at niluto ng mga taga ibang probinsya or rehiyon, nag iiba eh, hindi nakukuha yung lasa...or pag niluluto nang hindi gaanong naturuan o sinanay sa kusina yung tagapagluto....marami kasi hindi binabanggit sa cookbook, makukuha mo lang pag sanay ka sa kusina nanonood sa parents mo magluto..eh yung iba sa cookbook lang umaasa...kaya maganda andito na si ninong ry para yung mga di tinuro sa cookbook na natutunan niya sa kanyang butihing ama ng kusina, eh mashare niya sa atin...slamat sa kung sino mang makabasa, alam ko sobrang haba, huhuhusorry na po sa haba nito, huhuhu...napapa-isip lang po kasi ako ng mga bagay bagay, huhuhu.....

    I remember when I was a kid, whenever my Mom ask me what ulam i would like to have, typically a kid in my generation would request Fried Chicken, or Spaghetti. Me? I always request for Tinola. Until now, Tinola is still on my top list as my favorite Pinoy Ulam, followed by Sinigang na Hipon. 😊😋

    Thank you Ninong Ry sa mga panibagong kaalaman na naman. Mahilig din ako magluto kaya itatry ko yung risotto at haianese. 😁 Masarap ang tinola lalo na't ikaw ang magluluto at magtitimpla. Papaya or sayote, kahit ano ginagamit ko Dyan basta Kung ano available. ☺️🥰

    ninong as per may nanay the secret is luya dapat make it sure brown ito. bago palang onion at garlic then sankutsahin mabuti ang manok with patis .. ganun lutuin siya sa sariling katas pag medyo malambot na thats the only time ilalagay ang papaya o sayote .. timplahan mo na once luto na turn off ilagay ang maraming dahon ng sila.. kung lagyan ng tanglad ok lang pero sa tagalog walang tanglad .. ty avid fan mo ko ... sawsawan patis at sili at kalamnsi

    Hi Ninong Ry!!! Green papaya has enzymes called Papain (hindi naman to hango ke Emelda Papain😆) na nag brebreakdown ng protein kaya lalambot at mas aabsorb ng flavor, lalo na pag tandang manok na napurohan sa sabong ang lulutuin mo...

    Iba rin version ko sa tinola..pag native na manok hndi kna ginigisa para di maglasang mantika kundi manuk na manuk talaga.pakuluan lang ng tamang dami ng sabaw at pag malambot na ilagay ang sibuyas kamatis at kunting luya tsaka kapayas at lagyan ng 2 kutsarang giniling na bigas instead of hugas bigas para mas malinamnam talaga at mas masarap sa native manuk tanglad at takpan.after 10 min cguro mdyo luto na ang papaya timplahan ng chicken cube patis at kunting betsin asin at ilagay ang sili mahaba na hilaw para mas mabango mga 5min cguro isunod ang dahon ng sili at dahon sibuyas at pwd ng atakihin.sabaw palang ulam na...congrats sa inyong dalawa mga idol nakainspired talaga kayo!.

    Sa aming bahay basic tinola must have Tanglad, Ginger, Scallion, Onion, and Green Chilly (Siling haba). Rock salt for seasoning no MSG.

    For me, ang sikreto ng masarap na tinola, bukod sa manok, papaya at luya, ay ang patis.. Tapos imbes na tubig lang sa sabaw, ginagamit ko yung hugas-bigas.
    Sa nagsasabing basura ang tinola, baka kasi style ng luto nyo tinolang carinderia.

    Iba iba talaga ang way ng pagluluto ng tinola may sarili din akong way para lutuin yan I also prefer papaya and dahon ng sili sakin naman ginigisa ko talaga sa umpisa at maglagay na ako ng patis habang ginigisa para manuot ang patis sa manok no need na nga ng chicken cube dahil nanuot na sya at pag magisa na ilagay mo na ang papaya para mag blend ang lasa sa manok which ang result ay magiging manamis namis ang lasa then tsaka muna lagyan ng tubig yun sakto lang para yung lasa ay andun parin pang huli ang dahon ng sili mga 3 mins para mag lasa din ang dahon ng sili.     Ang ginagawa ko ninong sa tinola niluluto ko muna sya sa sarili nyang tubig at konting mantika ng ilang minuto hanggang magmantika tapos mapiprito sya sa sarili nyang mantika para merong maiard flavor tapos ihihiwalay ko yung manok bago ako maggisa ng aromatiks pero dapat bawasan ng konting mantika para bawas kolesterol tapos isasangkutya ko yung manok ulit sa aromatik bago ko lagyan ng sabaw at mga gulays.

    Ninog ry, I am from negros. Lahat ng ingredients na sinabi mo i think thats the usual ingredients na ginagamit talaga ng taga negros. And its true na masarap ang tanglad, papaya, at dahon ng sili sa tinola. What we do nga lang nilalagay talaga namin pati dahon ng tanglad saka tinatali na lang para d magulo sa kaserola. I think if you’re from negros thats the style talaga of cooking tinola 🙂 Just sharing 😁

    Dapat gisa muna bawang then put rice, gisa kunti then put chicken broth. Ginger with spring onion dapat lagyan ng salt before putting hot oil.

    Yes dahon ng sili, very well blend po sa tinola... Pinaka madaling lutuin ang tinola po talaga.. taste adjustment lang ang kalaban niyo.

    Parang nag-Tinola Theory na rin si Ninong Ry. Classic Tinolang Manok as it is maybe simple pero compact ang flavor nya. Tapos naiadopt nya pa toh to other ways, foreign way to be exact. More power Ninong and Panlasang Pinoy. More power din sa Tinola. Hoping to see soon na yung Adobo Theory

    Tama ka jan sa papaya Ninong. Isa pang kagandahan ng papaya sa tinola is, mas nare-retain ng papaya yung integrity nya. Mas name-mentain yung texture nya on longer braising time unlike sa sayote na andaling lumambot at maging mushy which is not a pleasant experience.

    tinola una kong natutunan lutuin 3 years ago , 34 na ako ngayon🤣 akalain mo yun?
    napakasarap ng tinola pag konti sabaw
    pero pag swimming pool yan e wala tlgang lasa
    luto ka na lng ulit ng panibagong sabaw pag kinulang

    Kapag ang tinola ng mga ilocano, bagoong ang ginagamit na pang gisa and we're not using knor cubes, nevertheless gaya nga ng sinabi ni ninong, dipende yan sa kung ano ang gusto. God bless ninong ry

    I used po yung medyo pahinog na papaya . mas manamis ang lasa. tinuro a akin ng isang lehitimong cavitena. sinubukan ko. ayun ang sarap. iba ang sayote , mas yummy papaya. 10 out of 10 na pinatikman ko. papaya na sila ngaun. mas ok ang pinitpit labas ang lasa ng luya. Try to also cook yun POSPAS Ninong.. halaan na lugaw. ang sarap din sobra. try mo po

    curious pa rin po ako sa mga ginagamit sa kusina like magic sarap, knor cubes, betsin etc. sabi nila masama daw gumamit ng sobra sa mga yon, request po sa next content about po sa na mga ingredients na ginagamit sa kusina salmat po 😄😅

    Approved Ninon Ry, dito samen sa batangas city di na nilalagyan actually ng knorr kapag manok tagalog/native yung karne na iti-tinola kase malasa talaga sya tapos madilaw talaga pagka sabaw nya pag naluto. pero sa luto mo swak na swak pa rin at mukha talagang masarap hehe katama nyan patis na may kalamansi na maraming sili! gayahin ko to Ninong Ry!.

    Nong, dito sa amin. Kahit yung bulaklak ng sili at maliit na sili, kasama. Try mo nong minsan yung Semi hinog na Melon as a extender. Mindblown!
