Just a tip I found while getting these dialled initially. I was getting pitched almost every attempt and was struggling to get the balance point right so I could sit on them. I went back to doing Slappy crook stalls on an unwaxed curb, if I got pitched forward doing those, I needed to lean back more. Once I could sit on the stall and then come out comfortably (took maybe 5 mins of getting it), I went back to trying them moving and made sure I balanced at the same point I had been on the stalls. Worked a treat!!!
Man you make it look so easy. I think the sitting back on heel is where I’m going wrong. I appreciate this video. Ready to go try this out. I can get in but having trouble holding it.
"Let the board throw you up the curb" really helped me out. I was trying to force it up and jam it. so much so I almost twisted my ankle on the double sided curb. Thanks for the tip.
No problem at all! I kept trying to jab it too hard when I first learned them instead of letting my momentum carry me up it. Remember that same tip when you start doing them FS and it’ll make those click super quick!! 👊🏽
@@eastcoastcurbkiller frontsides terrify me. I landed exactly two in my life on ledges which seem less intimidating than a curb weirdly enough. My muscle memory is tuned to ollieing to grinds haha
Question would big wheels help wit slappies? The curb I'm slappying is kind of tall. I can do most of my slappy tricks on it except for Slappy blunt slide. No matter what I do I just can't get on top. I have 56mm on my Slappy board now. I was thinking of getting a big ass set of wheels but that are still hard. Think that'll help?
So in my personal experience the only benefit from wheels that big is a good lock-in on 50’s, crooks, or feebles. But the difference is really not much better. For noseslide combos, blunts, and everything else a smaller wheel is way better. There is less drag, it’s easier to tilt your noseslide or boardslide combos, etc. I did a lot of experimenting with super tiny (44mm) and bigger (56mm) and the sweet spot seeems to be anywhere from 51 to 53.
@@caseyaylward8853big wheels make me accidentally Willy grind too often. It's annoying. Smaller wheels can get scary if they stop locking in. Like they said, there's a middle ground/sweet spot between too big and too small.
In this particular vid it was an 8.75 Madness deck, 53mm spitfire f4 OG Classics, bronson raws, lil jawns rails, and some prototype 8.75 tensor mids that never made it to market

This is a great tip thank you!
Can you make a video specifically on popping out of the slappy crook? I find myself "walking out" of the grind more than popping.

Really helps to just take it slow and focus on putting pressure toeside with your front foot until the curb stands you up. You’ve got it bro!

@@paunchcoorlightly4000 haha I feel you man! I learned them on ledges way before I learned them on curbs lol
Awesome tips, definitely gonna be trying these out on the curb! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks man!!! Go get it!!!

@@eastcoastcurbkiller good to know. Maybe my big wheels are holding me back. Mine may actually be 58mm.
@@caseyaylward8853 I’d really suggest a smaller wheel. Even going to 54 would be a big help.

Thank you brother!! I think I’ve decided to do noseslide to crook next!
Nice, thanks for explaining.
No problem!!
This is something I want to learn. I just keep nosediving into the curb haha
Haha I feel you bro! That just means you are trying to jab into it too soon and not letting your momentum carry you up it.
Thanks a lot, I will definitely try this out.🤘😌
Get it bro!! Once you figure out the mechanics, it’s the easiest slappy
