Veterinary professional here. Grain free diets can cause dialated cardio myopathy in dogs basically an enlarged heart which isn't good. That's why they don't recommend grain free. You should also gradually switch his diet to prevent gi upset as well.
Ask the vet to do a panel to see what major is allergic to…also, allergies wouldn’t cause an upset stomach. Changing foods for dogs can cause upset stomachs though so be careful with that.

You have to progressively change your dogs food. Sprinkle the new dog food in with the previous dog food or it’ll bother their stomachs
