Marion Island 2023 Astrophysics Expedition

The final Marion Island expedition for a team of astronomers and engineers from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and McGill University.
Seven years ago Marion Island became the heart of a cosmic search for the very first stars in the Universe. This year the experiments were concluded and so a team of South African and Canadian scientists travelled down one more time to retrieve all the instrumentation and enable the island to return to its pristine marine protected state. This is a glimpse the team: Mohan Agrawal, Austin Gumba, Ronniy Joseph, Tristan Ménard, and Veruschka Simes, their journey, their work, and their adventure on one of the most remote research stations in the world.
