No ABS, Stick Shift, Traction Control Fully Turned Off. Unbeatable Speed in comparison to cars in the same price range. I can see the appeal it can have for a certain driver. You see someone in this and you can probably guess they're not just rich.
Penn Tarleton yeah someone who just wants to show off buys a ferrari or a lamborghini. the type of person who buys this loves the experience of driving on the edge of control.
Danny Kyle props mate. The good thing is you can still show off because its loud and exotic looking but people who actually know about cars go "shit, he's brave"
FideTheProducer Cuz it's calm.. I hate all that, it's only good when it looks like a space ship stuff!!! It's quiet and calm and you'll still blow off almost every car on that planet!!!
That's why I'm a HUGE Lotus fan and previous 06 BWR S/C Exige owner. It's about you, the car, and the experience. Not about where you put your Starbucks coffee. Not where you put your groceries. My 11lb battery died at a mall, needed some kids in an SUV to jump me. They were happy to see my car, and I was happy to let them experience the situation with me. Things this simple with my Lotus stand out, it's like a chapter in my life, but sadly it's not the same without my Lotus...
+4ven8 it's not just looks and sounds, this is probably the purest ride you will get in any 21st century supercar, due to less high tech technology. It means the driver is more connected to the car, it really shows the type if driver you are. that's why it's beautiful.
I just adore that one. It looks great from the inside and outside unlike many others from small companys!! It is pure, it fits good looks, being totally rare, a great manual gearbox and stunning performance in just one car and I say even the only car I know of !!! I'm not a race driver at all and I'm damn scared of this if Jezza says he can't handle it good enough but I'd buy it all the way anyway!!!!
the chaps who are going to buy a noble are the guys who want a supercar but want to be different then all the rich blokes who just have money. just as the mx5 is the drivers car for the economical, the noble is the drivers car for the rich.
Radu Lacatusu I totally see your point, poeple will wonder and you'll shine out even in a crowd of 458 and gallardos... But not in that, show off way because it looks even fancier as in this "what is this car" way!!!
I like that in this car YOU are the ABS module, much like a TVR or first gen Viper (only much faster). Weeds out the yobs who normally buy supercars these days from those who have the guts and ability to take this thing up to terminal velocity. I also like the Yamaha-built V8, the fighter jet interior aesthetic and relatively low tech approach. And as for the lack of airbag, as Jezza put it in the review of the TVR Sagaris: "Well don't crash it, then." About the only complaint I have with it is that the styling is a bit pedestrian, this is very much a blue-collar supercar if there ever was one. You don't buy the Noble to be seen in, you buy it to go absurdly fast.
I love this car I just don't know why... It looks good and it's raw analog just like a supercar supposed to be. If I ever see someone driving one of these I'll immediately know that he's not just rich, a little bit more than that :)
I want to say this is SORT OF LIKE a British Viper because you need a pair to drive it and it has almost no electric nannies. And performance is somewhat similar. But the two cars are completely different.
I regularly visit this video to admire the M600 since they're not that popular and you can't find much videos with them. Every time i watch this i wonder why i get some sensation of a Ferrari F40 and then i figured it out - this is like a lovechild of a Ferrari F40 and Jaguar XJ220. That feeling of pure analog adrenaline and insane speed, all wrapped up in a gorgeous body. It's a shame cars aren't made this way anymore.
@Adrian Shephard First of all, you are judging the brand, not the car, which, in the day and age where seemingly every brand can suddenly come out with a high performance, luxurious, exclusive car which ticks all of the supercar boxes, is not exactly the most sensible thing to do, atleast in my opinion. Second of all... it cannot handle a candle to the ferrari? The 348 and 355 it was competing againts were not faster, and they for sure weren't more exclusive, as less First-Gen Honda NSXs were produced than 355 and 348s. I get that you think brand and exclusivity is everything, so at least the ferrari, with the two individual models, when not combined in sales as I did earlier for the sake of comparison (348 and 355), should be more expensive nowadays, right? Oh right, they aren't. Also, look at the NSX, then the 355, and tell me that the 355 aged better in terms of design. (I know you didn't mention looks but I will).
It's not about looks with this car, it's about a pure driving experience. You buy this car because it is a challenge to drive, it's different, and it will scare the snot out of you if you are unskilled.
I like a noble, but that M600 is just unbelievably brilliant. I love the sound, the way it goes, the speed, the styling and the simplicity of it (proper manual gearbox, no ABS, etc).
It was developed and built by Yamaha for Volvo to fit transversely into a Volvo P2 chassis. Yamaha really are the ones who should get the credit for this engine, all Volvo did was order it.
Yamaha should really start entering some racing series. It would really help with brand awareness imo. But I guess they are content taking the back seat as long as they are financially stable.
couldn't agree more. The Ford Zetec-SE was Yamaha, a fantastic engine with variable timing and loads of torque. Toyota/Lotus 1.8L 192hp ZZ2 ? Yamaha. The Lexus LFA V10 ? Yamaha again. Not even speaking of motorcycle engines, nothing short of fantastic... I actually prefer Yamaha to Honda engines, I said it !
Being from the UK myself, owning a Noble M600 would make me feel proud to be British. Although, yes the engine is Japanese, but the rest of the car is hand built with pride.
there is only one top gear and that is from across the pond, we have nothing close to this show here in NA. keep up the awesomeness guys, lifelong fan!!
I have been watching this video over and over for the last 7 years and dreaming since it launched in 2011 when I was 14 to one day be in the position to afford one. Today I am 22, I ve driven so many great cars, 911, pista, speciale, etc but I’m not forgetting that i’ll own one, and drive it every single day until the day I Die
I live in an arab country, the richest arab country which is the UAE and I never saw one, in here most people buy cars for looks not for driving pleasure, even the ones that buy cars for driving pleasure more than 90% of them prefer cars that come with a prestigious badge like a Lamborghini or Ferrari and it has to be in Automatic.
It has the GTR's ass, the 458's front end, the GT3's cab, and the Aventador's wheels. It's like the frankenstein of cars with a supercharged twin turbo.
It has epic handling, not the life support like every supercar gives today. They make you feel like a good driver, this car shows you if you are a good driver or not, it's honest, quite noble. The only thing I'd change is the shape of the front lights.
Really? I love the way it looks so much I would buy it over any of those other supercars in the video. Now I wouldn't buy it over say a murcielago probably, but I love this thing.
because traction control can be acheived either by cutting the throttle or cutting the ignition, both of which have nothing to do with the brakes or ABS. However electronic stability control requires an ABS mobule. So I hope that clears up your confusion?
bbc privated top gear videos so hard that I actually got very happy to see jeremy again... even though this video is 2 years old... here in brasil, top gear was never more broadcasted through payed tv =`(
@USGiorgi Ads don't appear within default Android, the only ads you see in Android is through 3rd party applications, where the ads are placed by the developer to get a return for their effort. It is great to have the choice whether to pay for an application or have the same app for free and just tolerate their ads.
The V12 would lengthen out the wheelbase watering down it's sharp handling. Twin turbos large enough for each bank on the V12 would need larger intercoolers, more airflow, and more exhaust tubing = more weight. Carbon fiber chassis- pointlessly increases the cost of the vehicle where an aluminum monocoque could work just as well and keep tooling costs lower. ABS is truly needed in anything over 160mph but the absence of such means drivers have to THINK. A rare thing these days tbh.
@Jeffero77 as well as the arty Italian super cars you also have the small car companies like this noble, which are beautiful pieces of British engineering. They don't just go fast, they go fast around corners too.
If you want to go into which man produced vehicles first you will find Lee noble was instrumental in the Ultima project which was around 1980 time frame. So his argument is not completely invalid when you take into consideration the people behind the cars and their history with automobiles.
@engaurd You are absolutely right, I 100% agree with you, you're right, I haven't ridden a bike on a track but I have ridden one and I loved it, at the moment I'm doing my bike license. But I also know that no bike, no matter who the rider, can beat a performance car at a track.
@dtsmucker glad to finally hear someone say it. im not so much a fan of the new american cars tho. the mustang, camaro, challenger, charger, ect all have legendary names from the 60's and 70's but these new versions are all about selling as many as possible and not making the cars live up to expectations
I'd say out of all the other supercars in this video the Noble is the most "race car" of all of them due to its small room for error and lack of electronic intervention. I'm not discrediting the other cars, which are honestly amazing, but the Noble does I think have the upper hand when it comes to a pure driving experience and skills needed.
just amazing!! it is a beautiful car, it have a beautiful design, beautiful aerodynamic, an a beautiful engine, 650 hp are very dangerous, but very stronger and exciting.
@N0bb13 bhp is what the engine makes withing itself, hp is what actually goes to the tyres because most of the time theres about a 10% loss in power as it goes through the drivetrain
Koenigsegg was founded in 1994 but released their first street legal car in 2002. Where as Noble released their first car in 1999 the year it was established.
@Jeffero77 i concede that americans are fairly good at building cars that go fast in straight lines, but they follow certain trends. 1) american cars tend to be heavier than their european or japanese equivalents, and worse through corners. 2) the engines tend to be larger but produce a lot less HP-per-cc than their equivalents. 3) build quality is usually lower as well (ZR-1 is a perfect example, because you've already mentioned it). i love american cars, but that's just the way it is.
This thing derives the design, layout style and carries the same driver focus as the other Nobles that came before it like the M14 and M15, so stop complaining that it doesn’t carry the same spirit of the previous Nobles. It very well does.
that is truly a drivers car!! I don't want electronic assist on anything...I want to feel everything. an a/c though may be in order because of how hot it gets where I live but shit I dont need a radio or navi, i know where i'm going!
your right, top speed is not everything... but what about handling? comfort? and everyday drivability? the noble m600 does all of the above better than the aventador, the aventador just looks damn good. If I had to choose between those two cars I'd probably pick the 458 italia though.
well maybe if you looked at some of the other comments with other people. I accepted the fact that I was wrong first time, kenigseggs first road legal production car was in 2002. Nobles was in 1999.
It did the Top Gear lap in 1:17,7
When this episode aired, it came between the Koenigsegg and the Zonda F Convertible. And just for those who are wondering, yes, it was faster then the Veyron around the Top Gear track.

Fast and loud heck yea
Rectal Prolapse not JUST rich. Meaning they're rich and they can drive. You dolt.
I see alot of folks saying its not about the looks...well I think this car is beautiful!
FideTheProducer Cuz it's calm.. I hate all that, it's only good when it looks like a space ship stuff!!! It's quiet and calm and you'll still blow off almost every car on that planet!!!
It is!
FideTheProducer me too
a gorgeous car
It’s unfussy, late 60’s LeMans car looks.
The fact that it's barebones on technology is awesome...
That's why I'm a HUGE Lotus fan and previous 06 BWR S/C Exige owner. It's about you, the car, and the experience. Not about where you put your Starbucks coffee. Not where you put your groceries. I honestly think that this car is beautiful.

+4ven8 Same :)
deadseriousforsure
I would love to see it race a Zenvo ST1 or Corvette Stingray.

One of those TG vids I return to time and again, and why this show is still my favorite of all time.
Noble m600 favorite car ever
It's my favorite too. What an awesome car
This car looks, sounds and drives like a car from a Burnout game.
+Eggly Bagelface Wasn't it?
yeh it does!
Really? Which car from any Burnout game you think it's based on?

one of my favorite top gear segments of all time. just a beast.
a REAL drivers car , no cpus driving this beast. i wish i had the money so i can tame this beauty with the TC off ..i am in love
and it's a manual! which is rare in supercars
the only real way to shift :)
A driving mans car.
Makes the F40 look like a SUV.
Mclaren F1 now a Vaxuall Nova.
Nice car. I would buy it just to get away from the crowd and what I mean, originality, rare car most people wonder what it is.
Radu Lacatusu I totally see your point, poeple will wonder and you'll shine out even in a crowd of 458 and gallardos... But not in that, show off way because it looks even fancier as in this "what is this car" way!!!

that car is not for pussies
That Yamaha V8 from the volvo is no joke, such a gem that volvo really should’ve used for a sports car
fr, I've seen some prep'd S80s and they're SCARY
I want to say this is SORT OF LIKE a British Viper because you need a pair to drive it and it has almost no electric nannies. And performance is somewhat similar. But the two cars are completely different.
TVR fits that category a little better. I’d say the Noble is a British version of the old Shelby GT500
4:15 Look out! Here goes Chuck Yeager! He's brave, unlike that Aventador driver.
I regularly visit this video to admire the M600 since they're not that popular and you can't find much videos with them. Top Gear makes the best car reviews of all time. Period.
I think its such a beautiful agressive car
i think that this should be considered a hypercar in the same sense as the honda nsx is considered a supecar
it still beats most supercars even today
Why do you think the nsx shouldn't be considered a supercar?
Of course the NSX is a supercar lol
@Adrian Shephard Wait so bad reliability is what makes a supercar a supercar?
@Adrian Shephard First of all, you are judging the brand, not the car, which, in the day and age where seemingly every brand can suddenly come out with a high performance, luxurious, exclusive car which ticks all of the supercar boxes, is not exactly the most sensible thing to do, atleast in my opinion.

was one of my favorite cars since i was a kid, was a big supporter of this car when they showed it on top gear. Good times.
This is a very nice car.
as an owner of one of the Last Volvo V8s, an 09 S80 AWD... awesome Cruiser which goes quite Hard 😉 this machine makes me smile 😊
Beautiful looking car, love the lines on it.
And it sounds great too!
Damn they squeezed a lot of power out of that volvo v6! Amazing!!!
That's a V8 :)

Nothing wrong with the Noble m 600 or been proud off been brittish i actually like the car a lot
British Racing Green with a tan & black interior. And yellow calipers
there is only one top gear and that is from across the pond, we have nothing close to this show here in NA. keep up the awesomeness guys, lifelong fan!!
I would choose this car over the McLaren P1.
:O no. The p1 is in a league of its own
+Just ANY G4m3r Except it gets spanked by the 918...and more recently the Dodge Viper.
+Adeum Deus well....yes but the p1looks incredible in my opinion
+Just ANY G4m3r True, it looks more exotic. Personally I can't stand the P1's looks. I like the sleek, understated design of the 918, personally.
+Filip Borin No worse than Comparing a Fiat LaFerrari with the P1...
I really like it, it looks nice and seems really fast. Not sure if I would like not having all the features though.
Anyone want to buy one of my kidneys?
(slow claps applauding....)
hahaha dude relax hahahaha
Its not worth anywhere near enough to buy the car
This is a car in it's purest form. No assistances, you control it directly. That's got to be such a feeling.
I have one of these cars. They're not bad.
+Sam Walter Pft, you should see my 10 Bugatti Veyrons.

The noble has a strange and amazing charisma... It's perfect.
In all honesty headlights look like a 240
I think that "featureless body" looks super clean
It's simple and fast. Although it does not have the pedigree of a Mercedez, it can be something to brag about since you wont find many arabs with it
Yes you will
Colds
oh, no. they just like mercs and beamers
+S96Blue Qatar is actually the richest Arab country if I'm not mistaken.
Obama is bought by the saudis

animekid69 But for a Frankenstein it's hell of a beauty :D
animekid69 lol
And reliable like a lotus at least according to the road trip episode they did
Twisted Needles
Because Yamaha made this engine for Volvo, then Noble bought some engines and fed them steroids.
1:31 and 6:27 leaves me breathless. they look intimidating. just awsome!!
its the hipster supercar
the noble truly is a world class car for sure!
Front side of that car looks bad
Back side of that car looks AWESOME
Seems like a very raw, powerful car.
Resuming. A piece of crap that goes really fast. I wouldn't buy one at all.
Now I wouldn't buy it over say a murcielago probably, but I love this thing.
id rather the noble then that technology filled Ferrari in your profile picture, it would be a much better driving experience.
wow...never thought Noble was such a beast
That was simply awesome. A great bit of engineering by the boys from Brit. Buy in preference to the other vehicles? yes I damn well would!
because traction control can be acheived either by cutting the throttle or cutting the ignition, both of which have nothing to do with the brakes or ABS. However electronic stability control requires an ABS mobule.

No heavily congested dashboard or fancy navigation system, just speeeeed :D
what an enjoyable car!! i was excited and i wasnt even driving it!
one of the best cars ever made of a british producer it looks like it has a billion hp on his engine

No, it was measured in a efi data logging program called EvoScan. We were logging the car in 4th gear 1:1 gear ratio and realized that.
would have liked to see a straight up drag between them all!

your right, top speed is not everything... but what about handling? comfort? and everyday drivability? the noble m600 does all of the above better than the aventador, the aventador just looks damn good.
If I had to choose between those two cars I'd probably pick the 458 italia though.
@rey1164 im sorry i dont get the civic movement... they are FWD.. instant fail for me but i love that ppl support them for the reasons you mentioned
i like the way jeremy says'No'.
