As someone living in Utah this means everything to me. When my family moved here I was fourteen and my mental health started rapidly declining. I won’t get into detail, but I’m sure you can guess what I mean by that. All the queer youth I knew were suicidal. Now that I’m 21 years old, I’ve learned that all my queer friends were suicidal in their youth, and some of them still struggle with it today. I heard about TrevorSpace from you when I was young, and used to text their hotlines. I cannot thank you enough for what you’ve done for me and so many others, Miles. Although I don’t like to call Utah my home I feel a strong connection to the Utah queer community and youth because they kept me here and helped me be who I am today. Again, thank you for spreading awareness about this community and helping in such an immense and world changing way. 🖤🖤🖤

10:04 this is the realest thing every. I got dysphoric, I wanted dyed hair and piercings, I got tattoos as soon as I got to college and was like IMMEDIATELY getting tons of em. and two years later i feel way more comfortable with myself and i haven't so much as changed my hair color in months

In the book Stonewall by Martin Duberman, the author tells a story of how Marsha took Syliva out to breakfast and Marsha shouted at the cook "Don't give me any greasy plates Mikey!" And I say that sht to myself every time I do dishes 😂
@ the new season is going to follow a different story so it’s technically an anthology but not like the old series… the first five episodes kind of have that style though, each focusing on one character and the first three all taking place on the same night.

I disagree with you about trans characters being played only by trans actors. I think any actor should be able to play characters of all genders. I think bigots are going to try to do their best to separate everyone into their two categories no matter what we do and the best thing we can do is blur the lines between who can play these and all other categories as much as possible. Let's make it normal for men to play women and women to play men and for people of all genders to play characters of any other gender. Trying to insist that trans characters have to be played by trans actors also limits trans actors into only being able to play trans roles. The beautiful thing about acting is that you can play a character that is entirely different than you.
Could not be more wrong. That’s like telling poc their roles can actually just be given to white people because we want to “blur the lines” of race. Trans actors are already at an extreme disadvantage in regards to getting roles - especially ones that aren’t basically just typecasting them as “the trans character”, taking away the one role that can authentically be played by someone who has that actual lived experience is the equivalent of being kicked when you’re down. Anyone with a good mind wants to disestablish the gender binary throughout our culture (because it is totally limiting) but removing jobs from an already marginalized group isn’t going to change anything for the better. You want people to see trans/nonbinary people as humans - let them be seen and heard, give them the chance to share their voices and creative passions to the world.
