I'm using my blue and white plates/decor with pink as my accent color. This spring I used a lot of yellow accents in our living areas, although my kitchen is still blue, white and yellow. Blue and white is so classic. Your home looks inviting.
You are right - the nectar can go bad in a few days. It's always best to start with a small amount until the hummingbirds and butterflies find it. Love all the lemon decor. 🍋
I love your new plates - they look great with the yellow and white. I decorate with a natural-nautical theme (for years). Woods, baskets, light blues, light seablue, seashells, starfish. Just here and there a little touch. Very minimal inside. Outside I have a cottage garden full of blues and purples and light pinks and some light yellow and many many animals (including snales - baeh) .. I love it. Greetings from Germany ♥

For my summer kitchen decor I’m adding a vintage hanging dairy scale. Just on the hunt for a scoop or bowl to hang from it. Adding two pictures next to it of two little girls, one with a chicken and the other with a calf. I still have my bowl of lemons and limes for the top of my frig, vintage milk bottles in a crate, wood rolling pins and spoons in a crock and a touch of blue and white with teacups and saucers in a basket.
You did the right thing with the “nectar”. It does go bad and it is recommended that you change it twice a week. The amount you put in is a good start. You will see if you get enough activity to empty it or not. Nice video.

Loving all the blue and yellow you have brought into your kitchen! I don’t change up my decor too much indoors mostly spend my time outdoors container planting and decorating our deck and patio. We have had a couple nights with frost this past week, so will start the planting this weekend! Hopefully, the warmer weather will be here to stay by the end of the month!

My mom has had out a hummingbird feeder for years and years. She has hers hanging from her kitchen window. It's so neat to see them up close! The food is basically just sugar water and won't go bad. Her mix is always a red color. Maybe add a drop or two of red food coloring. It will attract the hummingbirds 🙂.
Noooo!!!! Never ever add food coloring. In fact, store made nectar is garbage. Make your own. 4 cups of water to 1 cup of sugar. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Turn off heat. Add 1 cup sugar and 3 cups of cold water. Ready to serve. Store in fridge for 2 weeks. Since you live in Fl it would need to be changed daily. Just put a few ounces in the feeder at a time so it doesn’t go to waste. Please, if you are going to do it do it right. No offense, just trying to help
Also, your feeder isn't high enough. They will not come near it if it is too close to the ground for predators to reach them. I have mine hanging from full-sized shepherd's hooks. You and your littles are going to have so much fun watching them!
I remember when you made the bee houses. I was amazed at your patience. Everything looks so pretty. Its amazing how the simple thing of putting lemons in a jar can become so pretty.

Hi Jessica, another re great video. In regards to the water bird stand, you need to step on the black bar at the bottom & by doing so, it will push the stand in the grass. I found that out when I was doing mine, many years ago. 😁
I absolutely love your simple but beautifully textured deco pieces. Like tea towels and mugs with beautiful patterns on them. Reminds me deco doesnt have to be expensive or complicated. I love that lemon jar so beautiful and you are inspiring.

Loving the chinoiserie touches. Love love those. Next time I would just make the nectar. It’s a lot more healthy and you have to replenish every 2 days cuz of the mold build up. Mold can kill the hummingbirds.
Turned out great! You may have mentioned this and I just didn't catch it but where did you get the lemon sign? It's so weird that, I guess because of the camera angle and different lighting the lemons actually looked orange once you put them on the coffee bar.
I was so excited to get out all of my lemons and olive decor along with my red, white and blue decor for summer. I leave it all up summer long until it is time to decorate for fall. And my new cricut project was a red white and blue Hello Summer vertical sign. I found Popsicles on design space and painted the board white and the top and bottom blue. I have stars at the bottom and the hello in cursive and alternating red and blue Popsicles with white letter for the word Summer on top of each popsicle. I wish I could share a pic. It is so cute and so different than 4th of July or welcome or anything like that.

It appears that you and I have the same top. (New Directions from Belk?) Love the pop of green with your little tree! The cute basket looks great with your range hood. I just shopped at Kirkland’s yesterday and looked at those adorable canisters. Lol 😂 You did a wonderful job decorating for summer!

I watched many tutorials before I was brave enough to take mine out of the box! Luckily YT has plenty of step by step tutorials so you’ll be just fine! I’m trying to get back to my normal twice a week posting schedule in the next week or so! Have a great Memorial Day weekend as well!
hi Jessica it's ok that you did not fill the bottle up. Check to see how many birds come to get the nectar. But the bottle should be cleaned out and replace the nectar every 3-4 days. Just use hot water and a brush, I don't use soap just in case, I wouldn't want leave soap in the bottle. Also there are a lot of U tube videos about hummingbirds you should check with your son. have fun. Your home is cute.

Lot of the vintage blue Mason jar color and copper! Haven't been able to give up the warmth it brings.

It 100% does go bad and can kill the hummingbirds. If your daily temp remains 90ish the nectar should be changed daily!!!
