      Still, for $1.98 they could install one. I have back and leg pain and the grab handles do help. I'll bet the mounting hardware is installed so all you need to do is order one or find one at a wrecking yard.

    The missing grab handle on the drivers side is intentional. One less thing for dumb people to do while driving.

    I'm 62, the seats are fine. The car is fun to drive. It's nice to look at. It's very easy to park. Just remember, it's an Accent. Don't expect a rocket ship...and stop finger banging the dash and door panels. It's an economy car. At 55 mph it gets over 40 mpg.

    Now imagine learning to drive on vehicles built from the mid70s to mid80s which make this Venue look like a sports car in straightline acceleration.

  • @palebeachbum
    @palebeachbum 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    I really like the design of this new Venue. It's stylish, but not obnoxious. It's small, but practical. I think some of the critics failing to mention that this is a replacement for the Accent hatchback is a bit of an oversight, especially in their criticism. It's an entry level subcompact, folks. I think it's overpriced though. $24k for top trim of a subcompact hatch/CUV seems like crazy money to me. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I think this shouldn't be more than $20k loaded.
    This is a bit of a stretch, but when I first saw the tail lights on the Venue, my brain immediately thought of the tail lights on the 1988 Nissan Pulsar. I guess because of the diagonal lines and fairly square shape.

    • @dave3682
      @dave3682 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not quite, actually. I thought the same thing too, initially, but when I spoke to the dealer he told me that the Venue is based on the Hyundai Accent platform, not the Soul's. Also, the Venue is classed as a compact suv while the Soul is classed as a compact car. So they don't even compete in the same class. The fact that they look similar is mostly just coincidence.

    • @kens97sto171
      @kens97sto171 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      as someone else mentioned they are not related. The venue is based off of the Hyundai accent. The Kia Soul is a different platform. And actually has greater interior volume and cargo.
      something they failed to mention here is that the base model comes still reasonably equipped and I believe is
      $17,000.
      at that price point you are getting a pretty good deal for a car that still reasonably well-equipped.
      Car seems to accelerate okay to me,
      It has a new CVT transmission that has extremely quick ratio transition.
      Alex on auto had a much better and more complete review of this vehicle .
      If you ever want real information about a vehicle that is the place to find it.
      fast lane car while entertaining often doesn't really give you very much useful information about any vehicle that they review.. just more feelings, and design stuff .

    Have not driven it but was able to give one a good look over at a local car show. I have to say I was smitten by the design and the attention to detail in both the exterior and interior. I think Hyundai did a great job making a "cheap" car that doesn't look nor feel cheap. I know people like to compare this to the Honda HR-V but really this is a Fit competitor. I think the Venue will be very successful and compel Honda to bring the newly re-designed Fit to America. They make the New Fit with an "suv" style look (roof rails and body cladding). This would compete perfectly with the Venue.

    The Venue is quite dumpy looking. There’s just something very cheap about its styling.
    Hey Hyundai, young urban entrepreneurial millennials like myself are buying Tesla Model 3s, not dumpy compact hatchbacks with black plastic tacked on so it can be called a crossover. If I was in the market for a small car, it would be a VW GTI or Golf R.

    • @dave3682
      @dave3682 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that's the point. A recent study showed that 30% of used car buyers tried to buy a new car first but couldn't find anything in their price range. I'd wager that's the real market that Hyundai is going after with the Venue. (Saying it's for "entrepreneur Millennials" is probably just good PR since its kinda hard to say that it's a cheap new vehicle for broke-ass youngsters who would otherwise buy a used vehicle without offending your target base) If you can offer a relatively well-equipped new vehicle for cheap you should be able to rake in some of those 30% of used-car buyers. Offering apple/android carplay/auto as standard along with lane-keep assist and emergency braking as standard is quite appealing when a high-end used vehicle from 5 years ago doesn't even have those things (my 2015 Ford Fusion Titanium, for example). The Venue screams cheap, much like a Nissan Versa. The Seltos actually looks quite handsome but it costs little more than the Venue. The Seltos looks almost like a small Skoda Kodiaq, whereas the Venue looks like a Nissan Versa compact crossover.

Why would you need more? And it does not even come is 4 weel drive. For the same money you can get nissan rogue in 4 weel drive and sl trim.

    Tommy. Helpful tip. Before posting your reviews, show them to someone else who knows automotive history longer than the past 10 years you have been thinking about cars. Like maybe Nathan. (Roman's not that bright.) For example, Should I say "It has a lot of the same DNA as the original Volkswagen?" The original VW approved by Adolf was the "bug". I can't think of any two cars that could be more different.

    I really wish they would stop doing the whole headlight below the blinker light setup. It didn't look good on the Aztek. It didn't look good on the Cherokee and it doesn't look good here.

    Hyundai and really any automaker should be able to to prevent someone from locking their keys in their car now. You can't, no matter how hard you try, lock the keys inside either of my 2015 Chrysler 200C sedans. If the key is within the confines of the cabin or the trunk, it won't lock. The trunk will close if the key is inside, but then it will pop back open. It should be a feature in any new vehicle these days.

    $23,000 for a tiny car that is loud, slow, and the only thing that is harder than it's seats is it's pure plastic arm rests. Think I'm passing on this one Hyundai. I will admit, it does look good on the outside. It's a shame, they have been killing it lately and they kinda dropped the ball here.

    That you can actually lock your keys in the car is not good. My 2010 Nissan Rogue had 'technology' that would not allow that problem! I would have thought that all cars
    would have taken care of that potential issue by now.
    But, despite that I think it's a car for short commuting in....Florida and not so much in snow climates with snow and no AWD.

    is the "basic" transportation that many commenters in many auto review websites say they want. A lightly used Corolla, Civic, Fit, Elantra, Soul, etc might be a better choice, but for a new putt putt this is certainly better than a Mitsubishi Mirage, although the Mirage will get better fuel mileage. 🙂 I would not want to take a long trip in this car, and the racket from the engine/transmission is annoying.
