Should have avoided the play in entirely, just too many stupid losses. But anyway, you can't win a championship when your starting lineup is weak and your coaching can't adapt. We were carried by the second unit in a lot of games. The CP3-Trayce-Klay combination was a killer, and wasn't used at all in this game.
And I've always been a Kuminga defender but I was disappointed by him in the last month. The Mavs game to get the 8th seed was critical and he ducked it. His knees were fine. And he's had this shitty body language, whining to the refs every time he gets blocked. But I'm not disappointed in Wiggins because I already knew he checked out after he got his contract.
Draymond likes talking basketball. So let's talk basketball.
Sacs defense wasn't as great as you said. The offensive awareness of you guys was pretty poor. In the first 5 minutes you had Trayce rolling in a wide open lane to the basket 3 separate times and nobody fed him. Instead Klay elected to shoot over a double team, Wiggins went for a drive into the defense, and Curry dribbled into the corner and got doubled, swinging the pass cross court. A drop-off would have got a dunk from Trayce. Trayce got benched inexcusable for this.
The effort level on defense, especially transition was bad. People weren't sprinting back. Communication clearly wasn't happening except on Fox doubles. But the DHOs to Keegan? Nobody stepped up.
The gameplan to put Dray on Sabonis was nonsensical. It puts Trayce on Barnes, whose only offensive value is to post up in the corner as a shooter. You should have played Barnes because you can sag off, help off ball, and close out in time. Plus we all know HB is TERRIFIED of you Dray.
This doesn't even touch on how many times people got caught either ball watching on defense and losing their man, or not keeping their head on a swivel on offense, dribbling up court, and getting swiped from behind.
I say all of this with love of the Warriors and the game of basketball. That loss was on poor gameplan, poor execution, and poor effort. You deserved the loss on the merit.
That being said, the team got significantly better by the end of the season. And I'm very high on the 4 young guys. I'm hopeful for next season.

About the 4 young guys...I've been a Kuminga defender for years against irrational haters, but I'm no longer high on him. It wasn't a 1 and done elimination game like Draymond said - we actually had 3 playoff games. We had the Mavs game to get the 8th seed (with no Luka), the Pelicans game to get the 8th seed (with no Ingram), and the Sac game. Kuminga ducked the first 2. He had 5 games off for knee tendonitis and Kerr thought he was going to be ready for the Mavs and saw him warming up, but he sat. Then he comes back the next game and takes a nasty spill and and misses the Pelicans game with back pain. After a great couple months it's like he suddenly didn't want to play because the refs weren't calling fouls anymore. Just driving to the basket clumsily and then crying to the refs every time.
I still think he can be a good player, but I'm more open to seeing him as a trading piece now.

Big fan of yours. If you decide to play next year , please go the extra mile to get your anger in check. Cards on the table , the anger management was big problem against LeBron for the championship, loss of chemistry with Poole incident , and instrumental in this years playoff chances with suspension. Team would never been a dynasty without you , hoping for a strong next year

Alot of people are saying if draymond didn't get suspended we would've had a better season. Partially true but also a Cop out for STEVE KERRS Decisions..... Kerr barely started trusting kuminga this season and still for some reason doesn't trust Moses Moody enough. Imagine those 2 guys from the beginning of the season both already having big roles whether it's starting or first off the bench(for moody) instead Kerr decides to experiment line ups til the end of the season. Love podz but he shouldn't have got that starting Job over Moody during the season especially when Kerr knows he doesn't really trust rookies in the playoffs so why are we even wasting our time? Moody helped us win a ring already and was more than ready for that role we still have yet to get to see Moses Moody unleashed and in a rhythm cause this coach treats him like a Rookie in the dog house still. It's ridiculous. Kid deserves better and I hope he gets it whether it's with or without being on this team. Kerr has handled him so poorly
I'm not going for the we didn't have enough talent narrative. We had the talent the coach just couldn't put it together. Idk if that's all his choice or steph/dray have some say so in these decisions too but it's time for everybody to wake tf up and realize we are nearing the end and there's no more time to waste. We have this young talent ready to take the baton from Klay and Wiggins. I don't mind keeping them at all and think they'd both be great off the bench. Like imagine a bench with CP3 Klay Thompson Andrew Wiggins and Podz for a whole season? With Moody and Kuminga starting getting a rhythm playing with the Greatest point guard of all time and one of the greatest defenders of all time? We could easily still be playing basketball rn regardless of draymonds suspensions if Kerr knew how to utilize his young talent.

Dray with you suspended this year we lost 8 games. If we had you in those games and won at least half of them we could’ve been the 5th or 6th seed. Just shows you how important you are to our team. Thanks for all the good times. The Worriors, 49ers, Giants and all the teams were wining divisions and championships , even the Raiders helped me through a difficult time period in my life. We moved to Moraga Ca in 2009 through 2016 and I remember going to theWarrior champion celebration party in Okland. You had the mike and dominated like on the court. My wife of 30 years passed away from cancer in Jan.2023. She was a saint. Her birthday was yesterday. We had a son now 26 non verbal Autistic trying to get on a kidney transplant list. I was at the game, these guys are some of the best players to ever touch the ball, the kings fan in me was happy we can still keep playing, but as a lifelong bay area resident, always supported the Dubs (y'all kept me sane during our rough seasons). Even saw klays 37pt 3rd qtr in person you don't forget that kind of greatness. Feeling the pain right now, they wont break up the 3, loosing cp3 may be a good thing , many players are going to be available this off season so Dubs will some good options. Wish y'all the best. I don't understand the logic of you guys who keep saying shit like "Dray, if you would have not been suspended then we'd have been the #6 seed". If we get dog walked by a team that's a #9 seed and missing really big pieces, what makes you think it would have been more than a 5 game series against the #3 seed?? Especially considering the #3 seed has the dubs biggest weakness right now being a dominant interior defender??

Facts, I think people are just using the suspension as their last excuse for why this team isn’t contending so they don’t have to finally face the reality that this team just doesn’t have enough. The roster isn’t good enough.
But had they gotten a playoff spot, it’s a 7 game series. Teams lose games, they lost by like 40 vs memphis in game 5 in 2022 and went on to win the chip
I sort off agree with this. I think if there was no suspension they would have had a chance against several teams to win a first round series. That said, they aren't a contender even if they were a 4-6 seed.
As for roster construction, you are so right. They so need another offensive star to share the load with Steph. It doesn't help that the young players are years away from being consistent play-off performers. They won't likely be ready on Steph's time-line. That means that if they want to contend soon, some of these young guys (who will become really good players) will have to be traded. It is what it is.
You’re right. I think you gotta give Dunleavy credit for a pretty dam good first draft. But the lack of a solidified #2 shot creator to Steph and at least 1 Seven footer when we need to play big, all of that handicapped us.
You could tell our vets were spent too with how hard they had to work at the end of the season just to get a 10 seed with 4 wins shy of a 50 win season. Just my dumb 2 cents

If that 2022 team had to face a 9 seed for a 1 game winner takes all do you think that team would lose by 20+ pts? And you are ignoring that even when they had Dray they were woefully bad against the top teams, Minn included.
Also the game you mentioned in 2022 was game 5, as in NOT a critical game with Ja injured so by losing that game they could win the series at home the next game. The entire point here is that if that's the best they could do in a winner takes all game then they stand no chance in a 7 game series against higher seeds who are healthy (Sac was not) and they match up worse against (they match up great against Sac).

The comments about Dray taking accountability for his suspension are weird as hell. The man made a public apology. Then came on the pod and elaborated in multiple episodes. Yes, it played a part. But the Dubs loss games they shouldn’t have and didn’t click together early enough in the season.
That being said, this is another year the core and some upcoming young guys got some experience. If Klay stays and maybe some roster improvements are made, GS state can most definitely win at least one more championship.

Steve Kerr has made soo many wrong decisions (not mistakes) this season. With Moody, with Kuminga, with Steph's minutes, with Klay. And in perhaps the most important game you suddenly change TJD's place on the floor. Made him go from center to PF; Of course he was gonna struggle he's a rookie!
And it's on Dray too with the suspension and anger management issues, which have affected us at different times during the dynasty (2016 finals, beefing with KD, punching Poole, getting Indefinitely suspended, getting ejected throughout his career). He has to do and be better.
Given all of that I still think we need another star paired up alongside Steph. Plus the luxury tax will be interesting to see too

I hope in the free agency. You can get a LEGIT big man that will give the Warriors an inside presence.

I want to start out by saying the past season + this season were extremely tough for the team themselves + us fans. The team dealt w/off the court "drama" + on the court Injuries
which resulted in the team not having the ability to win most of their games. Yes the players blew some leads which in those were losses but I am not worried about that going into the offseason.
I think this off-season is gonna be 1 of real change 1 which I hope will result in the team coming back stronger next season for hopefully another successful season for the Dubs.
