I’ve only had the chance to make one quick flight in this but I’m already in love with how good the airplane feels when you hand fly it, it definitely feels realistic without having flying one of these in real life this makes it feel like I have. Still just a beta but it’s really well done.
I picked this up and also bought the GNXxi750. The FPS took a big hit in VR with the software, but the support folks are working with me on that issue. I will keep you posted. I love this aircraft.
thanks, maybe next month, bought too many planes this month. will add it to the list. nice to have quality aircraft releasing almost back to back for the sim.
14:20 The landing lights extend from the wingtips. It's the rightmost switch on the exterior lighting. I suspect they didn't extend because of keymapping. Also, tap the camera hole on the EFB to remove it. 17:50 In my last flight I got up to FL200 and 215kts ground speed. She's fast. I've been waiting for an aircraft of this class for a long time. Sits right between the unpressurized Baron and the turboprops. There's still a lot of bugs to fix, but when it's done it'll be quite polished.+
She's a nice plane but I think a better fit between the Baron and the turboprops is the Duke B60. Although it carries only 5 passengers against the Cessna's 6, it does have a significantly higher cruising speed at 239kts and a greater slightly range at 1020nm at 25,000ft. I'm hoping that at sometime, someone will bring out a B60 or even a Turbine Duke for MSFS to match, or if we're exceptionally lucky, to surpass the P3D versions by Realair Simulations.
Would love to see " Turbin Duke v2" Originally produced by RealairSimulations who ,unfortunately are out off business. Was made for FSX, and P3D. This 414 looks nice.
Agree, the Turbine Duke by RealAir was a fantastic add-on for FSX, really hope that somebody can produce it for MSFS 2020. It was such a good add-on. Jerry
Landing light switch is a 3 way switch. Off, On and deploy out the wings. You did not switch it fully down to 3e position so they never where deployed out the wings and where shining down on runway. Once deployed you can turn them off or retract them again into the wings for less drag ;-)
I'm definitely want to get this Cessna 414! Thank you for the review! I really like when on final approach I can notice wind drift moving me off center and requiring my attention to compensate for it when landing and it felt like there was a good amount of that going on from how it looked to me!
Was not a fan for some reason of how it looked. Then I looked closer and then bought it. Woah this thing is great. In VR looks awesome too. I think this is one of the best aircraft in the sim.
This was a day 1 purchase for me, and I honestly think it’s my favourite aircraft right now. A couple of bugs need to be fixed (I think there’s an update coming out later today or tomorrow) but other than that it’s a pleasure to fly and it actually *feels* like I got my money’s worth.
So beautiful, and one of the planes I've been lucky enough to ride in for real with my uncle! I bought it a couple days ago but haven't had the chance to take it up yet because I also bought the DCDesigns Concorde in the same week :) It looks like it will be the perfect step up from Carenado's Piper Seneca which I've also really enjoyed.
I just picked it up yesterday, I agree, it does need some work yet. But it'd beta, for the price they want for beta I would imagine/hope no stone will be left unturned when it comes to making this as realistic as possible.
Just a quick update, the GTNXi suffered from a bit of a FPS loss, the support folks were great and sent me a new panel.cfg file. This seemed to help. They also replaced a file to fix the intensity problem.
I am waiting for the Milviz c-310.I was tempted to pick up the c-414 but my hangar is flooded with GA aircraft. At this stage I will just throw money at whichever developers rolls out the first tubeliner!
I love the 414. PLEASE PLEASE tell me that this ipad can be turned off. This is such an eye sore in that beautiful aircraft. In an era where you cannot see a single teenager with a phone or pad not glued in their hand, i would like a break from these devices in older plane classics. Good video buddy, really enjoyed it.
OK, hopefully someone can help. Purchased this plane and cannot find app to install. When you click on app that was downloaded, from simmarket, does not let you run and install. very frustrating. Have seen some bad comments about this, just wondering what I am doing wrong. Thanks.
Do you mean "Nothing can beat the Kodiak?" If nothing can't beat the Kodiak then you are saying the Kodiak isn't up to scratch comparted with every other aircraft.
some of the instruments don't look very sharp in VR. I'm using the Aero and its hard to read the airspeed gauge. Im not sure how they make these but i suspect they use a photo of gauge rather than a draw it digitally. Would be great to get clear gauges in Vr!
Dear Overkill, I bought this only yesterday and upon loading up found I couldn't have the usual pilot-in-command's panel view. Matter of fact, the view that greets me when I select cockpit view is the front wheel. When I try to use the up arrow key to hoist myself into the cockpit, the main panel fills up my view and there appears to be no way to readjust the POV so I can fly the aircraft. It's so darn disgusting and depressing, I've sent Support a ticket but I'm hoping someone here could advance a remedy, please. Much thanks in advance.
Thank you for this review. This is definitely a purchase for me. I noticed on the flight computer gauge in your video (and also on the video of Into the Blue Simulations), residual background lines that constantly vibrate. It's a bit annoying. Do you see them on your plane or is it due to the video recording?
Thanks for the review. Looks very nice. If i see that right she cruises even faster then the MB-110? Is there a version included without these winglets?
Most likely faster, as the 110 isn't pressurized and can't go as high without oxygen masks. And I would prefer no winglets as well, although I don't have my hopes up because this is based on a particular plane owned by one of the developers in real life.
Deal breakers for me are the filthy windshield and apparently locked in place flypad blocking views of gauges. PS why are you sitting so high up? Your head would be against the roof. I've got 77 hours RW time in this bird and the seats are definitely lower even when adjusted full up. If they cleaned up the window(s) and allowed movement of the flypad I'd consider buying it.
Yes, the default cockpit view position is high, exactly something like you say. They still have to tweak and sort out the cockpit views, I noticed they kinda left it for later...cuz it's simple. That's okay, this is beta, they also yet need to separate the instrument views from all those outside views for the walk-around, for now they are actually all instrument views, all the same group of "instrument views" - they should be in the outside/showcase views group... I think they still didn't do that cuz you can't translate nor pan those. They are fixed and that couldn't be changed until SU8 cuz the camera API wasn't exposed at all. I got me some free time and wrote new properly positioned camera views for C414 as per the latest SDK..overall what to say...easily one of the most enjoyable and detailed aircraft at present!☝🏻
🙂 don't worry those are not deal breakers - but just a matter of both devs and community members creating refurbishings with clean windows, the new views, etc. Those are really the easiest elements the one can create in one afternoon. This airplane has thousands of complex features and details made well - and all those take a year to properly recreate.
It's from "Flight Sim Ware" not 'Flight sim Aware'. They've been around for over 10 years in the FSX/P3D scene. Stsill this wouldn't be a review by an American if there wasn't a mispronunciation or mis-spelling! :o)
I didn't know that the Cessna 414 was a beta version at only $39 (an excellent price). Do you know what the full release edition will cost and if it will have options to remove the dirt from the windshield (in Australia it's named windscreen)? The dirt is quite prominent in your video. As I mentioned earlier, the dirty windscreen was a deal breaker for me. I'd now like to take those words back. My bad... 😕 I happen to have 77 hours R/W pilot in command time in this very bird, but it didn't have winglets and a few other, minor, modifications. Anyway, I copied and pasted the following notes that I made earlier - while revising my rather harsh critique 😑) : I suppose that, even if they leave the windscreen dirty, there might either be a mod to clean it up or it can be done via a manual method. I used to create/modify many freeware aircraft panels for FS9 and FSX and upload them to places such as AVSIM, etc. Cleaning up windows was very easy for me to do. So, if editing things like this using MS Paint (or other graphic programs) were possible in FS2020, I'd definitely buy this plane at its current price, then proceed to clean up the windscreen and other areas to my liking. What do you think, Overkill (sorry I don't know your name 😊)? Thanks in advance. Bill 🤙👍
I've seen similar mods for other planes, so they should be possible for this one as well. $40 is already a lot for me (especially considering the Concorde came out in the same week) but I jumped on it because I was afraid it would go even higher if I waited.
Thank you for this review, I own it now as well, would it be possible to do a video on how to set up proper camera views, the views seem to be all over the place on my computer. Thank you for all you do for the MSFS2020 Community.
hey i just bought it and i was wondering if you can help me out! problem is that i cant be able to extract the file says that is currupt and i was wondering if you had the same problem, i would appreciate some guidance i have never had problems to extract any files.

It is a spoil of an otherwise nice product. Come on developers, at least give us a choice, perhaps make it a check box on the iPad. Fix it and you will have my money.
Finally hit xbox today on marketplace so better late than never...

Astonishingly good. Comparable to Aeroplane Heaven's Mustang in terms of quaity!

Yes, you can click it out of existence. 😎
Yes you definitely can and then you can open the window
@@ErikFigueroa You guys made my day! Thanks!
Surely you can, but don't call me Shirley.
I finally bought this plane and it is completely awesome. I love everything about it!
I notice on their website that this is a Beta version. I think the price is steep so will wait on this although it looks very good.
Good stuff! But I’m awaiting the MILVIZ C310R…
Great Video. This is my new default aircraft for sure.
Great flight , thanks for the video mate ; buying tomorrow .
A tutorial demonstrating the Fuel Computer might be a nice vid for you to do.
I can only get left engine to start. I hit GPU on iPad, then CTRL - E, but right won't start......

This is getting close to an A2A experience which I really miss since the migration to msfs.
I so miss an A2A aircraft
For some reason my GTN750 would not load up. I have purchased the PMS50 premium, but still no luck..
any help?
Nothing can beat kodiak 100

Tap camera hole to remove the pad. Sure they'll be a mod to clean the screen. Mucky shields do seem yo be a feature with this sim!
As stated, the efb is removable. This was his first flight so he missed a lot.
There are now mods to get a clean windshield, a more modern-looking interior (seats, carpet, no mirror) and better cameras.
