Seriously, thank you for saving it. These vehicles have souls that outshine anything made in the last 20 years. I’d rather have a classic car than anything they make today.

Today's cars are junk. Nothing but computer components in them now instead of mechanical parts. Metal can only be recycled so many times. They just get cheesier and cheesier every year. There's so many stupid little things that can go wrong too it's ridiculous

Please please keep it Gold on Gold!!! Older brother had same car (not an SS) as a winter beater Cleveland circa 1978
Probably paid like $150 for one twice as nice as yours.
Nice find. Glad to see young fellas, like yourself, into old cars. Gives you a real feeling of satisfaction. Looks like you live in a picturesque part of the country albeit the rust belt

I bought a '67 Impala in 1976 for $150. I used the 283 out of it for my '70 Malibu. I gave the body to a buddy of mine and I have been regretting it for a very long time. The body was perfect and I truly believe that the '67 was one of the best looking bodies Chevy ever built! Keep doing what you're doing!

You couldn't land that car against that trailer or have the trunk fit in that hole in the barn again in a trillion years. That was Karma rewarding you. Perhaps for your service. Thank you for that by the way. I love the ss models too. I have had a chevelle. Two monte Carlos and now a camaro. All ss models. I had a buddy who had a 67,the car's as old as me,lol! i remember being in grade school and feeling so lucky to be hanging out with the big kids riding in a cool looking car like that! on a somber note,a cool guy i worked with briefly has a 72 Mercury Montego GT just like I had at 1 time, and I haven't seen many, was going to show me his and take a cruise. just found out today he just passed on.he was only 53, that's young to me . enjoy the times and hopefully we'll meet up somewhere along the road all driving cool classics with stories and cherished memories to pass along with them.☆☆☆

My father-in-law pulled the 396 from his sister's '67 Caprice. She parked it on their parent's property in Springville, Cal. back in '84; I saw the car in the mid-2000's still parked there (it is still there). My wife's grandfather died a few years back, but he and his wife, my wife's grandma (Still alive and kicking at 90+ years old--my father in law is 74), were packrat/hoarders, and their property is a collector's dream of antiques such as old stoves, refrigerators, and a couple cars, including the '67. However, since they never liked to part with anything, if anyone inquired about their stuff, rather than sell it and make money, they would do the opposite. In the Caprice's case, my wife's grandpa got tired of people wanting to buy the car (like he was EVER going to do something with it) combined with the fact that he was going senile, took his backhoe and turned the car on its rood, and pulled all the springs and whatnot off it. I last saw the car when my wife and kids and I went to his funeral in 2009(?). It was turned upside down on their property. Not sure if it is worth anything, LOL.

It would be easier to replace the entire quarter panel of the car because rust will be throughout the panel. Also strenuously suggesting that the motor gets rebuilt and don't be worried about having it running right now.worry about making sure it's rebuilt right. That goes for the whole car. I've been looking for one of those for 3 years now, so you're a lucky bastard.lol. Kidding. Good luck with the build.

I owned a '67 Impala SS 327 in the mid 1970's. Yellow exterior with black vinyl. It came with a powerglide trans. but had been replaced with a Turbo 400 trans. Mine was in very good shape but it's just an ugly body style of a car. I wrapped it around a telephone pole. Also owned a '65 ' Impala 4 door that I installed a 396 into, my moms car previously. Also owned a '66 Chevelle SS 396. It was beattle bug orange and I ran 396's, a 427 and a 454 in it. Barely pulled away from a 1969 Thunderbird with a 429 in it on the top end at 140+ mph running south of Abilene Texas. " Back in the Day "

The valve covers with center bolts were used on later engines than the 327. For instance, an 89 305 I have looks like that engine, and I think the 350 also used them in that "generation". Same on my 94 Caprice 265 (4.3 V8) The Speedway Motors catalog has some good pictures and listings. The 67s are really nice cars, even if yours turns out not to have the 327.

Well to be Honest there are some things I changed like the Points I converted to a Pertronix ignition real simple swap and replaced the master cylinder for safety reasons.. I'm planning to drive the car cross country so I'm seeing what it needs till I go.. I bought an extra starter , alt and regulator for 90 bucks to have around just in case.. The car sat so long I had to do the brakes.. It's what you expect for a 46 year old car.. Now my '76 Trans Am has been super reliable needing just here and there stuff I rebuilt the carb well because it needed it and again a lot of parts were on sale so I bought them up to have just in case .. I grew up on these cars so remember what went wrong with them when i was a kid or teenager..
I will say being mechanical has saved my ass, but I love working on them anyways that is why I have them.. The big jobs I send out but that is rare..
If you want a '73 why not ? But I don't know your situation so I can only speak for my needs ya know..

Power brakes work just fine. Disc brakes not necessary. I had one of these back in 1970. Should never have traded it.

Subbed and I'm certainly glad this was in my 'recommended' list. Growing up a good friend's mom used to have a '67 Biscayne. 6 cylinder and '3 on the tree' 2 door.
    I've personally owned NO '67s or '68s , but I have owned A few '66s, a couple of '65s, 2 '69s, a '64, and a '58 (rough as all get out).
I've always liked the grill on the '67s but have never been able to purchase one. Even 'back in the day' (late '70s early '80s) Maybe someday....

Glad to have you with us, and thanks for the kind words! One of my 67s fits that description exactly, with the straight 6 and 3 on the tree. Only difference is it was a 4 door. Sounds like you have owned quite an awesome collection of muscle cars. I LOOVE the 65 tail lights!

Russ: I had a 1967 Biscayne, turbo-thrift 250 c.i. six, 3 on the tree. totally stripped when ordered by old person (I suspect) Best car ever, put over 120,000 miles on it until the frame rusted out, same gold color
