Don't get me wrong, I really like Lordi and do have every album and of course have pre ordered To Beast Or Not To Beast, but to me this performance seems to be a mixture of playback and live singing. Could this be possible?
I can't reply to the people down below because of TH-cam's new comment system, but to all of y'all who are talking about the playback: In this performance all the instruments are live. Kita never sung live when he was in the band because he couldn't sing with his mask on, so at gigs they used playbacks. His backing vocals are in this performance, along with Awa's. I'm not sure if Hella is singing the backing vocals as well or not. Also, jus' to throw this in, during the Eurovision performance the Kita backing vocals were done by Pasi Rantanen from the band Thunderstone.
Just remember that in Eurovision it's necessary sing alive. You playback all or most part of the sounds (bass, guitar, etc...) but you need to sing alive. And if youn mislead in some place will be noticed. Remeber in 2010 in Finland when the Spain entry suffer interference of a vandal? And the singer still sing among the presence of that stupid catalán. This is the spirit. Or you sing really, or you go to study use AutoTune like a major USA singers, if you can named her singers.
yup, because during this particular kind of shows there's hardly any time for soundcheck, so most of the time bands perform playback (for the most part) - just because it's an easier more safe way ;)

Kita was fired in 2010 and replaced by Otus, who died in 2012 and is replaced by Mana. Awa left in 2012 and is replaced by Hella.

Drums are clearly live. Cant say about the guitars, but doubt its playback if drums and sining aren't..
