TM Krishna: Raga Khamas

- TM Krishna's next was an alapana in Raga Khamas followed by a lovely virutham, which led into a javali composed by Dharmapuri Subbarayar entitled "Maru Bari Tala Lenura".
Krishna was accompanied by RK Shriramkumar on violin, KV Prasad on mridangam and BS Purushotham on kanjira. Tanpuras and vocal support were provided by Krishna's disciples Vignesh Krishnamurthy, Vidhya Raghavan, Rithvik Raja and Vignesh Ishwar.
@1:05 As soon as Shri TMK says "vasi vasi", it is so wonderful to hear Shri RKS immediately hit us with phrase after phrase of classic Khamas
I never seen such an artist like K. V Prasad ,accompanied in mridangam with TMK..

Listen to Sri TM K in the early morning Silent hours . It is a Heavenly Experience. Especially this Raga . Note unconsciously he himself folds his hands . When Sri T M K is on the stage a Divine force enters into TMK, and at that time the Sri TMK is not the same as the one whom one sees off the stage .

A very nice take on Khamas...
Super Khamas with a subtle touch of Mishra Khamaj. Although, KV Prasad is an excellent artiste, I feel Arunprakash or Praveen Sparsh's style of playing would have gelled better with TMK's rendition. Overall fabulous work FEA -- great balancing; 10/10 for AV!
Ambareesh Iyer hmmm....I actually thought that KV Prasad did commendably. Of course it is the ultimate test of a mridangist’s skill to accompany TMK! Comparable to accompanying MDR who had the added challenge of singing at an extremely low pitch - 1 kattai Shruti if I’m not mistaken
@@Suraxa1970 MDR sang at below one... Probably 6 or 7. But I'm sure accompanying MDR would have been much more tough given the unusual pauses & sang at a very chowka kaalam...
Ambareesh Iyer wow! Just imagine that! I remember my first experience listening to MDR.....I must have been 8 years old, I think. I remember asking my father in a very puzzled tone if MDR had forgotten the lyrics😂 once I understood his style, I became an ardent fan 😃
