Easy Ladybug and Bumblebee Painted Rocks | Step-by-Step Tutorial

- This week, I want to bring you some simpler rocks to try out! When I first started painting rocks, I thought they all resembled ladybugs, so that’s mostly what I thought I would paint. However, I ended up going down some other paths and wound up here on TH-cam showing you guys what I have been painting over the last seven months! So, what I’m hoping this video does is give you inspiration to begin painting your own rocks (if you’re not already). You can start easy with a bumblebee or a ladybug, and then branch out into other paintings, maybe even trying some that are already up on my channel! Enjoy!

I never thought of bumblebees. I've made plenty of ladybugs and never thought of bees. Any more buggy ideas? ;P
Now you can start making bees! I've done lots of things to fill up a whole rock before. Not necessarily insect related, but baby chicks, butterflies, birds... You can honestly do anything!

Wow! Your rocks look so awesome - super creative ideas! 😍 We painted some for the first time some weeks ago and hid them in Germany in the Harz. We also filmed a video about it, because we would love to inspire others with it, like you do. Painting the rocks makes so much fun, also hiding and finding some. 🎉

Very nice…. What type of colour is being used for the same ?
I use various colors of Apple Barrel and FolkArt acrylic paints. Not sure the exact colors I used for this besides black and white, but I'm sure they were just a bright yellow and bright red shade!

What that white paint you applied in the beginning or?
It is Apple Barrel white colored paint. It's acting as a base coat so that way the colors I put on top will show up better!

I use various colors of Apple Barrel and FolkArt paint! I do not know what colors exactly I used, but feel free to be creative with it! :)
You got the colors right for bumblebee but he’s a camaro and that does not look like a camaro that looks like a fly 🪰 but you nailed the ladybug at lest.

Hi - What base paint did you use, and what type of paints did you use for the ladybird, and what did you seal them with please?
I used regular white paint for my basecoat. I usually use either FolkArt or Apple Barrel acrylic paints. For the ladybug, I would have used red and black in addition to the white base of the same brand and kind. I'd like to point you to my video about how to seal your rocks (th-cam.com/video/Vt7py2lZfk0/w-d-xo.html) for information on what I use to seal them and why. I hope this helps!
Don't use doler tree paint! The paint is horrible! You waste your money!

I use various different colors of Apple Barrel and FolkArt acrylic paint. I believe for this video they were all Apple Barrel paints, those are my favorite. Not sure exactly which shades I used as I filmed this last year, but it doesn't matter too much - just choose the yellows and reds that you like best! Or get creative and use something like blue or purple for your ladybug too! :)
What size brush for Painte
Unfortunately, my brushes do not have their sizes printed on them and the package they came in is long gone by now, but they appear to be about 14mm and 2mm in brush width. Hope this helps!
