Damn why is everyone giving you shit for not watching mainstream animes, I have done the same thing as well, it's not that I think they are bad it's just all about the genre and I don't like feeling pressured to watch those shows. I like watching what I know I'll enjoy.
Honestly, this is the first video of yours I've watched but I do like it! It's helpful to me because I am in the middle of deciding which anime box to get... Anime Bento, Akibento and Loot Anime all seem so great. It's hard to decide which one to get!

Anime Bento has sent me 3 boxes where I was missing an item and each time I emailed them and all they gave me was an apology, they didn't even reply to my 3rd complaint.... Rude. If I pay $35 I deserve everything I paid for. I subbed from July-December until loot anime was announced and I was fed up from being ripped off. While I didn't love all of the themes so far, this last month was my favorite. Plus everything was LootAnime exclusive which feels more unique and special. Unfortunately I was missing an item in my 4th box (I must have bad luck) I emailed them and they got back to me quickly and are sending me a replacement WITH tracking info. WOW so that really won me over. Loot anime cares about their customers satisfaction meanwhile anime bento didn't give a shit about my displeasure to the point where they started ignoring me. Their items in 2015 kinda sucked and it seems like they have better things in their boxes now after ripping people like me off for half a year
+wendykkuma Aww I'm really sorry that you had such bad luck with Anime Bento :( I've had only good interactions with them, but I can say that customer service is pretty important to me and if I felt like I wasn't being taken care of I would move along too. But I know how you feel. I've had horrible luck with online orders and in store shopping. Like one time I bought a game and inside instead of the PS3 version I got the XBox version. So I get random mishaps like these all the time. It's actually a joke with my boyfriend and BF because I have such horrible luck lol
Yeah it sucked and I'm pretty forgiving so when it happened 3 times and they cared less and less each time it bugged me, so I found a replacement and moved out. I REALLY wanted to like them because I loved their mascot and the fact that they are texas based (where I live) so I wanted to support them but they just continually dissappointed me.
Anyone know what size shirt she got? Im thinking of getting an anime loot crate subscription and way back when I had a normal loot crate subscription i could never get a food size and she looks about the same size as me.
It's not that I don't watch mainstream anime. I've seen Death Note, Fairy Tail, Cowboy Bebop and Sailor Moon just to name a couple. It's more of I want to watch what interests me and not something just because it's popular. I don't think shows like One Piece are bad, I just haven't seen them. And with so many anime series out there I just haven't gotten around to watching some of these.
Unless you like waiting waiting and waiting and continuesly beeing told your box has shipped when it hasent, dont order from Shabby Geek, untill they have fixed their problems with their supplier and gotten up to date with boxes.

Everywhere says to avoid Anime Bento. That they quite honestly just scam people, hundreds of people go months and still no box being sent and they don't respond to support requests.
Same thing happened to me, except a couple of months later i actually finally got a reply from one of their members and they shipped me my box which gives me a feeling that they have too many requests to handle and can delay sometimes
Lootcrate, carries higher priced higher quality and just plain has more items and costs less, Losses. Animebento wins because carries cheap blind boxes you probably could have bought with the money you'd have left over from the difference in price of AB and Lootcrate, that's the winner? Really, that makes no sense.
+Melissa Gomez I think part of the reason Loot Anime can deliver stuff like that is because of the partnerships they have and also they are a bigger company, which is great that they are able to give us exclusive items. But I do also love being able to get items that are straight from Japan since in physical stores at least there is very little options around here. So I think they both cater to different things, but the cheaper price of Loot Anime is a bonus. I don't think I gave a winner in the video though as I think I listed off things I liked about both. These videos really are about showing you what's available and having the individual decide as we all have our own personal tastes.
I kinda liked my loot anime because..even though I don't drink. I like to collect nifty looking shot glasses for my wall of random weird collections. But overall I think they could of done better. I have decided to stop getting loot crate all together and am only gonna stick to Bobos box. They actually curate your boxes to you and no two boxes are the same.
+Hauntress Hauntings I think the shot glasses are nice. Love the colors and the painting of Ken, but ya I just don't drink enough. Never heard of Bobos Box though. I'll have to look into that at some point.
+Bloosica agreed and the full name is big ol box of stuff. they give you a quiz and you can request what fan bases you are. You can even request Anime as long as you aren't to specific since they are an everything box.
+Jeiganz The shot glasses look great, but I do wish they were full sized glasses or as someone else suggested coffee mugs as it would fit the theme of the anime a bit more as there is a coffee shop in Tokyo Ghoul that does play a role with the characters. I still can't decide which box I truly liked more, but I still say my favorite item was the little Umaru.
+Para Bellum More than anyone can fathom apparently. One video and a couple of boxes can't even begin to cover the thousands of other animes out there. And even if I have heard of an anime doesn't mean that I'm interested in it or that I should watch it because it's popular.
Anime Bento is better, even though I got Loot Anime's box. I was very disappointed with Loot Anime, nothing was really worth it besides the Noragami manga cover (and yes the cover, because I own the original version of the manga with other cover.) But the RWBY shirt was okay, kind of hoping the shirt would be Tokyo Ghoul. But with Anime Bento, I'm kind of wishing I got that box since I had a chance of getting something Blue Exorcist related (since it's my favorite anime.) But anime bento for the win!~
+Emily Loves Cookies I think it's neat how they are getting special covers for the manga they include. Last month's box had an exclusive manga cover as well. I think I would have liked a Tokyo Ghoul shirt more as well, but I do really like the design of the RWBY one. I do hope that Anime Bento listens to their customers where only animes that are including in all the boxes get shown off in the next boxes spoilers. I was ok with getting Assassinations Classroom this time as I also like that anime, but I remember a past box showing off Vocaloids and then it was an either or product which I didn't get :(
omg I loved the anime loot box I know that manga I started it never finished but its really good does a manga come in every box??? love the t shirt and everything I mostly value little key chain characters like in the anime bento box but I definitely liked anime loot better ^^
To be honest I haven't read the Noragami manga they gave me yet, but instead I watched the whole anime and loved it. When I get some quite time I will need to sit down and read it to find out the manga's take on the story. Manga doesn't come in every box however, but they do have them every now and then. The Music crate had Your Lie in April with it. :)
I need to buy noragami I can't believe I forgot about it I started it and then I must have gotten distracted by something else honestly I'm so glad you make your videos I stumbled upon ur video looking for something else and I watched your Japan crate and doki doki video I didn't even know that subscription boxes existed and I'm a huge fan girl when it come to Japan and its everything so when I saw this I looked at your other videos now I'm hooked I've already subscribed to doki doki and Japan crate .....and soon loot anime too I'm going to the 12 mos subscription tho because I love that a t Shir is guaranteed and I want the chance to get the manga :3 and soon I will check out anime bento too :3

Do you always watch one video and make assumptions like that? If you do then you don't deserve to be here. I don't watch anime simply because others do. I watch what I like and for your information, that includes Fairy Tail. Anime is not all about the big 4. People have different taste and enjoy different things. Anime is so much than just shounen and it's really sad when people try to cram anime into a small box.

Bloosica The animation is really unique. It reminds me of MMD(MikuMiku Dance) music videos that are found on TH-cam. Though I don't feel the trailers represent the anime to well, but that's just personal opinion.

There is just so much content out there and since we live in a country that isn't immersed it in it takes more time to dig it all up. But you gotta love it!
Of the two boxes, I liked Anime Bento's box more. To me Loot Anime's kinda seems like they just put in a few things to "fill up the box" if that makes sense. I do really like how the RWBY shirt looks, but I can't imagine a lot of people being thrilled about getting the notepads/memo pads. I agree with you on the Blue Exorcist item situation with Anime Bento, though. As far as the "box exclusive items vs items from a JPN store", i guess it depends on what the exclusive items are. Overall, I would prefer items you can get in an actual JPN store. I admit that I actually hesitate to subscribe to a lot of anime-themed boxes because of fearing I end up with things I don't like/want, or worse, could go get at my nearest Hot Topic/bookstore. The one time I tried an anime box - Betoyo Bento - I was disappointed because the only items I really liked were the small gashapon and chocolate egg figure. I am gonna give Omakase a shot, in only in part because their next box's theme is Vocaloid.
+MilkyStar I don't get very excited over the little filler items. The notebooks are ok and I might see myself using them on occasions to write notes, but it's something I wouldn't have missed if it didn't come in the box. I agree that it really depends on the exclusives as some items are nice, but then others I would have preferred a nice blind box. That's the thing with sub boxes though, with such a random sort of items chances are there will be something in the box you could care less about. I did see a couple people write on Anime Bento's Facebook page on how they didn't get the Blue Exorcist item and the fb staff at least agreed with their concern and that they would bring it up with staff. For me the closest Hot Topic is an hour away so sometimes it's nice to get something they I could get there as we don't make it that way to often. But I think overall I would prefer items that are harder to get around here as it's kind of a treat. We don't have many places around here to get imported Japanese items. Betoyo is a nice service and I've gotten some nice larger items, but the issue is that if you don't like the large item you feel like you just spent 30-40 bucks on a couple small items you could get for $5 or less. And shhh don't tell anyone, but I will be trying Omakase out as well :P
I still would love Manga in every box, but I have heard from some of you that it's not really their thing and they wouldn't want it in each box. I think they normally go over well though, but I can see why some people wouldn't want to see one in every box.

I do personally love getting Manga in the boxes, but then you have to go out and buy the rest. That is only if the first volume has caught your attention. But a Manga Library in your home would be awesome!
I think loot anime mainly focuses on popular animes whereas anime bento focuses more on newer animes. I think both boxes are really good but I prefer anime bento
+Billy Mays Well Loot Anime is just starting out and it's probably a good idea to cover all the popular animes to bring the most people in. Time will tell if they broaden their merch a bit. I still can't pick a winner though.
nice unboxing wish mine was better and I would have rather had a mug or Japanese tea cup with Tokyo ghoul on it and the only things I liked this month from loot anime was the manga and t-shirt
I loved both boxes, but since loot anime pays for customs if you get caught, it is better for me cause I live in Europe. Im also getting Super Geek Stuff and Shabby Geek both are from UK. Soo far Shabby geek has dissapointed me because my personalised box is 2 months late. They have also told me 3 times it had shipped, still no box, and other people who complained about their box being late on facebook, had their comments removed by Shabby Geek, not a good sign, I regret I ordered 6 months personalised boxes, cause likely I wont get them all, even if I do, theyr probably gonna be very very late. :(
I always seem to like the anime bento boxes more than the loot anime boxes, though I guess it's preference. but I mean.. how do you top a cute lil Umaru blind box! ^.^ ~

I'm also very happy that I got one of the Umarus. The other characters are cute, but if I can only get just one then I'm glad it was her ^_^

RWBY is pronounced as Ruby. The RWBY are the first letters of the four main girl characters in the anime. Awesome unboxings, i loved both boxes. each one had something cool in them. so im with you on which one was better lol.

Ok I'm just going to reply here lol. Just because an anime is popular doesn't make it an insta watch for me. I've seen other popular animes: Fairy Tail, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Love Live, Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, many many Studio Ghibli films, etc, as well as some less popular animes that sometimes I think are better than the super popular ones I've seen and even liked. I watch what appeals to me and don't base an anime solely on it's popularity. And yes I have learned the errors of my ways and pronounce it "ruby". As for the rest of the video I honestly don't even know what I said anymore lol.
It's not that I don't like mainstream anime, just not all of it. But I never understood why some people get so offended. I'm not saying that you were at all, but things can get pretty heated in the anime community. People are going to like what they want and shouldn't feel force to watch something. But yes CosmicVelocity. I think a lot of it does have to do with if you grew up with some of it. Not saying people can't get into it now, but nostalgia does play a part in things. But I would hope that people wanting to get into anime check out some lesser known titles they are interested in as well as some more popular. It's all about tastes and what makes you happy.
I think that the genre is a big part, being about whatever you like in the end. And the nostalgia stuff. I'm not trying to act offended (i did act that way...) now but i guess i kind of assumed you watched those anime, sorry.
I bought an Anime Bento and was terribly disappointed. So much so, I've never bought another. I mean, I was so bitterly disappointed as the box had crap in it that month and I had been so looking forward to it. (It was the one with Digimon, and I LOVE Digimon. Yet the figure was...meh...) Plus, I got hit with a ton of import /handling costs for it and it doubled the price. I've subbed to Loot Anime since month two, and I've yet to be disappointed. Sure there are things that maybe could have been better (I LOVE Yu-Gi-Oh and it was in the Duel themed box this month, expected a figure or something but it was SOCKS! Still love them though XD) So yeah, personal opinion is Loot Anime is good value for money for someone from the UK, Anime Bento burned me, and I doubt I will ever buy it again. +F. R. Donaldson The custom fees and shipping can be rough. Anime Bento comes from the US so I'm all set there. I find with any sub services though they have their hits and misses, but when you have to pay double because of customs and stuff then i probably would pass as well.
+Bloosica Yeah, it can be crazy prices. Strangely though, I don't get charged import or such for Loot Anime. Perhaps the smaller price per crate is just at the threshold for the taxes etc.
+Julie Lane Both boxes have some great items. If you like more exclusive type items then check out Loot Anime and it's a bit cheaper to if you are strapped for cash. But if you like blind boxes and more items that you might find in an anime shop in Japan then check out Anime Bento.
I still need to try that out. I'm wanting to do a full Battle of the Boxes to just talk about the different ones so it might help people make a decision.

Decisions decisions so hard lol. I really wanted to start with Gacha crate but I am getting one that is based in the US only. Stupid Customs keep messing up my friends box and I would be so angry if it were me.

That is what I was getting at when I was saying that Anime Bento has items that you can find in a shop in Japan. Loot Anime has their labs as they call it and exclusives that they work on most likely with a license to use the source material, but they do it in a style that is familiar to North America. I'm not saying it's bad as some of their exclusives are nice. Even the Norigami cover still was in the style of the manga, but it was exclusive to the box which is cool. But it's also nice to get items that aren't easy to get here that come straight from Japan. And your comments are always welcome!
The thing I like about Anime Bento is that they are one of the only Anime sub boxes that I've tried that constantly puts in blind boxes and I love that. The thing with sub boxes though is that one they aren't for everyone and two there are some months you just aren't going to like. I've had some great months though that had me very pleased.

+Adrian Perez IIRC, they are both February. Anime Bento came late that month and Loot Anime always comes the month after. So I paid for Feb's box early Feb and they ship it in early March. March's theme for Loot Anime is Duel and I've already gotten an email saying that it's shipping out late, about a week I believe they said.
Aww that sucks :( I hear that Loot Anime is trying to expand more and more, but I think they have to deal with all the licensing issues. Hopefully someday soon they will ship to you though.

Everywhere says to avoid Anime Bento. That they quite honestly just scam people, hundreds of people go months and still no box being sent and they don't respond to support requests.
Same thing happened to me, except a couple of months later i actually finally got a reply from one of their members and they shipped me my box which gives me a feeling that they have too many requests to handle and can delay sometimes

+Melissa Gomez I think part of the reason Loot Anime can deliver stuff like that is because of the partnerships they have and also they are a bigger company, which is great that they are able to give us exclusive items. But I do also love being able to get items that are straight from Japan since in physical stores at least there is very little options around here. So I think they both cater to different things, but the cheaper price of Loot Anime is a bonus. I don't think I gave a winner in the video though as I think I listed off things I liked about both. These videos really are about showing you what's available and having the individual decide as we all have our own personal tastes.

I kinda liked my loot anime because..even though I don't drink. I like to collect nifty looking shot glasses for my wall of random weird collections. But overall I think they could of done better. I have decided to stop getting loot crate all together and am only gonna stick to Bobos box. They actually curate your boxes to you and no two boxes are the same.

+Jeiganz The shot glasses look great, but I do wish they were full sized glasses or as someone else suggested coffee mugs as it would fit the theme of the anime a bit more as there is a coffee shop in Tokyo Ghoul that does play a role with the characters. I still can't decide which box I truly liked more, but I still say my favorite item was the little Umaru.

Anime Bento is better, even though I got Loot Anime's box.
I was very disappointed with Loot Anime, nothing was really worth it besides the Noragami manga cover (and yes the cover, because I own the original version of the manga with other cover.)
But the RWBY shirt was okay, kind of hoping the shirt would be Tokyo Ghoul.
But with Anime Bento, I'm kind of wishing I got that box since I had a chance of getting something Blue Exorcist related (since it's my favorite anime.)

+Emily Loves Cookies I think it's neat how they are getting special covers for the manga they include. Last month's box had an exclusive manga cover as well. I think I would have liked a Tokyo Ghoul shirt more as well, but I do really like the design of the RWBY one.
I do hope that Anime Bento listens to their customers where only animes that are including in all the boxes get shown off in the next boxes spoilers. I was ok with getting Assassinations Classroom this time as I also like that anime, but I remember a past box showing off Vocaloids and then it was an either or product which I didn't get :(

omg I loved the anime loot box I know that manga I started it never finished but its really good does a manga come in every box??? love the t shirt and everything I mostly value little key chain characters like in the anime bento box but I definitely liked anime loot better ^^
To be honest I haven't read the Noragami manga they gave me yet, but instead I watched the whole anime and loved it. When I get some quite time I will need to sit down and read it to find out the manga's take on the story. Manga doesn't come in every box however, but they do have them every now and then. The Music crate had Your Lie in April with it. :)
I need to buy noragami I can't believe I forgot about it I started it and then I must have gotten distracted by something else honestly I'm so glad you make your videos I stumbled upon ur video looking for something else and I watched your Japan crate and doki doki video I didn't even know that subscription boxes existed and I'm a huge fan girl when it come to Japan and its everything so when I saw this I looked at your other videos now I'm hooked I've already subscribed to doki doki and Japan crate .....and soon loot anime too I'm going to the 12 mos subscription tho because I love that a t Shir is guaranteed and I want the chance to get the manga :3 and soon I will check out anime bento too :3

Do you always watch one video and make assumptions like that? If you do then you don't deserve to be here. I don't watch anime simply because others do. I watch what I like and for your information, that includes Fairy Tail. Anime is not all about the big 4. People have different taste and enjoy different things. Anime is so much than just shounen and it's really sad when people try to cram anime into a small box.

There is just so much content out there and since we live in a country that isn't immersed it in it takes more time to dig it all up. But you gotta love it!
Of the two boxes, I liked Anime Bento's box more. To me Loot Anime's kinda seems like they just put in a few things to "fill up the box" if that makes sense. I do really like how the RWBY shirt looks, but I can't imagine a lot of people being thrilled about getting the notepads/memo pads. I agree with you on the Blue Exorcist item situation with Anime Bento, though. As far as the "box exclusive items vs items from a JPN store", i guess it depends on what the exclusive items are. Overall, I would prefer items you can get in an actual JPN store.
I admit that I actually hesitate to subscribe to a lot of anime-themed boxes because of fearing I end up with things I don't like/want, or worse, could go get at my nearest Hot Topic/bookstore. The one time I tried an anime box - Betoyo Bento - I was disappointed because the only items I really liked were the small gashapon and chocolate egg figure. I am gonna give Omakase a shot, in only in part because their next box's theme is Vocaloid.
+MilkyStar I don't get very excited over the little filler items. The notebooks are ok and I might see myself using them on occasions to write notes, but it's something I wouldn't have missed if it didn't come in the box. I agree that it really depends on the exclusives as some items are nice, but then others I would have preferred a nice blind box. That's the thing with sub boxes though, with such a random sort of items chances are there will be something in the box you could care less about.
I did see a couple people write on Anime Bento's Facebook page on how they didn't get the Blue Exorcist item and the fb staff at least agreed with their concern and that they would bring it up with staff.
For me the closest Hot Topic is an hour away so sometimes it's nice to get something they I could get there as we don't make it that way to often. But I think overall I would prefer items that are harder to get around here as it's kind of a treat. We don't have many places around here to get imported Japanese items. Betoyo is a nice service and I've gotten some nice larger items, but the issue is that if you don't like the large item you feel like you just spent 30-40 bucks on a couple small items you could get for $5 or less.
And shhh don't tell anyone, but I will be trying Omakase out as well :P

I think loot anime mainly focuses on popular animes whereas anime bento focuses more on newer animes. I think both boxes are really good but I prefer anime bento
+Billy Mays Well Loot Anime is just starting out and it's probably a good idea to cover all the popular animes to bring the most people in. Time will tell if they broaden their merch a bit. I still can't pick a winner though.

Soo far Shabby geek has dissapointed me because my personalised box is 2 months late.
They have also told me 3 times it had shipped, still no box, and other people who complained about their box being late on facebook, had their comments removed by Shabby Geek, not a good sign, I regret I ordered 6 months personalised boxes, cause likely I wont get them all, even if I do, theyr probably gonna be very very late. :(

Ok I'm just going to reply here lol. Just because an anime is popular doesn't make it an insta watch for me. I've seen other popular animes: Fairy Tail, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Love Live, Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, many many Studio Ghibli films, etc, as well as some less popular animes that sometimes I think are better than the super popular ones I've seen and even liked. I watch what appeals to me and don't base an anime solely on it's popularity.
And yes I have learned the errors of my ways and pronounce it "ruby". As for the rest of the video I honestly don't even know what I said anymore lol.

It's not that I don't like mainstream anime, just not all of it. But I never understood why some people get so offended. I'm not saying that you were at all, but things can get pretty heated in the anime community.
People are going to like what they want and shouldn't feel force to watch something.
But yes CosmicVelocity. I think a lot of it does have to do with if you grew up with some of it. Not saying people can't get into it now, but nostalgia does play a part in things. But I would hope that people wanting to get into anime check out some lesser known titles they are interested in as well as some more popular. It's all about tastes and what makes you happy.
I think that the genre is a big part, being about whatever you like in the end. And the nostalgia stuff. I'm not trying to act offended (i did act that way...) now but i guess i kind of assumed you watched those anime, sorry.

I bought an Anime Bento and was terribly disappointed. So much so, I've never bought another. I mean, I was so bitterly disappointed as the box had crap in it that month and I had been so looking forward to it. (It was the one with Digimon, and I LOVE Digimon. Yet the figure was...meh...) Plus, I got hit with a ton of import /handling costs for it and it doubled the price. I've subbed to Loot Anime since month two, and I've yet to be disappointed. Sure there are things that maybe could have been better (I LOVE Yu-Gi-Oh and it was in the Duel themed box this month, expected a figure or something but it was SOCKS! Still love them though XD) So yeah, personal opinion is Loot Anime is good value for money for someone from the UK, Anime Bento burned me, and I doubt I will ever buy it again. Great vids btw, very helpful :D
+F. R. Donaldson The custom fees and shipping can be rough. Anime Bento comes from the US so I'm all set there. I find with any sub services though they have their hits and misses, but when you have to pay double because of customs and stuff then i probably would pass as well.

getting at when I was saying that Anime Bento has items that you can
find in a shop in Japan. Loot Anime has their labs as they call it and
exclusives that they work on most likely with a license to use the
source material, but they do it in a style that is familiar to North
America. I'm not saying it's bad as some of their exclusives are nice.
Even the Norigami cover still was in the style of the manga, but it was
exclusive to the box which is cool. But it's also nice to get items that
aren't easy to get here that come straight from Japan.

+Vero The anime Bento box seems underwhelming to me. Yes the loot anime box was westernized and didn't have a figurine is always well.
The thing I like about Anime Bento is that they are one of the only Anime sub boxes that I've tried that constantly puts in blind boxes and I love that. The thing with sub boxes though is that one they aren't for everyone and two there are some months you just aren't going to like. I've had some great months though that had me very pleased.

+Adrian Perez IIRC, they are both February. Anime Bento came late that month and Loot Anime always comes the month after. So I paid for Feb's box early Feb and they ship it in early March. March's theme for Loot Anime is Duel and I've already gotten an email saying that it's shipping out late, about a week I believe they said.

(loved it btw) Sometimes these boxes are nice as they get me into animes I may have passed on or yes don't know much about. Some boxes are full of animes I know and love so that's cool too.
I also feel like I should give my honest opinion. If it's not something I'm into or something I'm going to use I'm not going to make it seem like the greatest product on earth just to try to sell it to you.
