      Hey Paul 🙂 no, the disco was closed during our stay; they mounted the sound system outside the disco. From what I’ve heard the disco space was being used for Covid testing.

      We’re not sure until what time it’s open but it was open at night during our stay. I would imagine it’s open as long as the pool is open since the idea is to make this an adults area…

    Going here this summer. We’ve never been at this resort but have been at other palladium’s. I see people complain about the food. Well maybe it’s not the top of the top of the top of top ( you get the point) but it’s still very good. Some people just are snobs or need something to complain about. Can’t wait to go and now worries bout the food. Besides you’re not there for the food but the beach and water.

    Hi! What would be the advantage of staying at the Palace vs Punta Cana vs Bavaro section if you could eat at any of the restaurants throughout the resort?

    • @rays7445
      @rays7445 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Everything is accessible from everywhere. Each hotel has a slightly different vibe and is closer to different things. The Palace is somewhat quieter, it's close to two of the buffets (Poseidon & Las Torres), Bhogali & a couple more restaurants, the spa, gym, and to the ocean. Each hotel has its pools. Punta Cana is in the middle of the complex, area wise bigger than the Palace, huge pool, center of all the pool action, family friendly, the Behique buffet, Portofino & El Dorado, close to the athletic fields. Bavaro is the largest in area is also close to the athletic fields, has the sports bar, one more buffet, Adelta/Lola/Bamboo restaurants, the Sunset theater, etc.

    • @NittyGrittyTravelers
      @NittyGrittyTravelers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great answer! Thanks for your detailed response, Ray 😀. Adding to your answer, the Bavaro resort is the oldest of the three so you can expect older looking rooms.

    • @NittyGrittyTravelers
      @NittyGrittyTravelers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, our overall experience was positive and we would visit again 🙂 The biggest tip I would give you is to make dinner reservations for your desired a la carte restaurant as early as possible each day since they seem to run out of space fairly quickly. Including on your arrival day, right after check-in inquire if you can make a reservation (we didn't find room on our first night!)

    I’m planning to go to punta cana in November. Any idea if this a good time for the right weather conditions and seaweed-free beaches?

  • @sapphireprincess78
    @sapphireprincess78 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, there! Thank you for this video!
    My husband and I stayed at Royalton Punta Cana and also Royalton Bavaro for our honeymoon at the end of 2020. (Sidenote: Royalton PC was my favorite-love the Diamond Club luxury and the smaller, community feel.)
    We’re considering staying at Palladium Palace for vacay this summer. Not quite as much of a budget as we had for our honeymoon. I’m keeping that in mind 😬, but seeing this video made me feel like I might be continually disappointed in Palladium. I noticed you also stayed at Royalton Bavaro and gave it an 8 over Palladium’s 7.5. Thoughts on how the two compare? Or what strongly influenced your ranking on these two?
    Also, I live for being in the ocean, but CAN’T stand the seaweed! The smell nearly ruined our vacation in Cancun a couple years ago. Is it ubiquitous at Palladium?

    • @NittyGrittyTravelers
      @NittyGrittyTravelers  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thank you for watching! 😀 Let me first address the seaweed; unfortunately, you're coming in the summer, and those are the highest seaweed months for the Caribbean/Mexico. It can vary from day to day, but I'm afraid you should expect seaweed during your visit. The Palladium complex does an excellent job at picking it up, but it can be overwhelming some days.
      Please note that the hotel we reviewed was the Palladium Punta Cana, not the Palladium Palace. They are part of the same complex, but the room buildings are different. The room was part of our overall score, so that can vary from the Palace to the Punta Cana; in fact, we are under the impression that the Palace's rooms are better than the Punta Cana's.
      The Royalton Bavaro is newer and more modern. The Palladium complex is older and has more of a tropical feel to it. It's beautiful, don't get me wrong, but it's not modern.
      The great thing about the Palladiums is its many amenities, sports facilities, restaurants... it's hard to get bored. The food at the Palladiums was also better than the Royalton's.
      We are discussing changing our scoring system; instead of giving a score, we're thinking of saying if we would come back or not and what impacted our decision. We would keep the rankings, so you know which we liked better than others, but we feel a number score can be tricky, especially with decimal points. Would you say this is a good idea?
      We would return to both the Royalton Bavaro and the Palladium Punta Cana. Royalton Bavaro scored higher because it's newer, and the room was better. Food and amenities are better at the Palladium, and both have good service.
      I hope this helps! :)
      -Ari.

    Would you recommend staying at the Palace or Bavaro or Punta Cana? - looking for good food, night life, close to beach and amenities, newer rooms with private bathrooms - would we have access to all 3 hotels amenities including restaurants? Our first time going we want to make sure we have a good time - there are 6 of us going (18 plus)

    • @NittyGrittyTravelers
      @NittyGrittyTravelers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Flora :) Regardless of which one you pick, you'll have access to the entire complex. We stayed in the Punta Cana, and it was more in the thick of the amenities, so it was easier to get around. The Bavaro Hotel is the oldest of the three and the Palace the newest, so I would pick the Palace if I were you. The three hotels are side to side horizontally, so they're all beachfront 🙂 I hope this helps!
