LOL omg this convoluted slack outline.... 🤣🤣💞👍
If you work for the government the Boss says no by default because it falls outside “the directive” provided for interns, which was last updated 15 years ago, so NO is safer and the easiest way not to have to talk to the Director about a situation not covered by the directive. Which would just get a NO at that level then. 🥱
Other branches learn to stop sending these opportunities or requests. interns have high turn over as it’s a dead end position, way under their developing skill set and potential. Permanent employees engage in presenteeism because they realise the Boss only cares about getting along with Director
    - morale drops as remaining employees assume the workload of older dead wood colleagues... but then burn out and get angry. no one leaves because it’s government, has stability and their attitude is now too toxic to be accepted in other productive workplaces.
Burnout or bad performance feedback, occurs at this stage and instantly becomes a union grievance. So no one is dismissed and grudges get cemented for decades. Rinse and repeat.
Saddest part is the productive hardworking talent are usually at this last point when they realize they should’ve left years ago and ... cue presenteeism...
True example how truly damaging convoluted chain of command communication is.~ and Your tax dollars 😞
