the tiger h1 that i have is basically a really big TD im pissed that unless you angle it and basically play as a damn m10 its useless AND EXPENSIVE AS HELL TO FIX literally 2.4k lions VS Pzr IVH is 1.2k to repair, sure you dont get armor but the gun is really good if you can hide
actually i find regular IS-2 (5.7) to be a very satisfying tank to play. i mean yeah, reload is long, but it feels so great when you basically only need to hit anything out there and it blows up (exclude your usual bugThunder moments but it has little to do with the tank itself). in addition somewhat thin armor does deflect rounds (only if you dont expect it to), and reverse gear is surprisingly good for a russian tank
Some players, myself included like to use that very reactive reverse gear to drive backwards towards the enemy. People don't realize this, but the engine plate is 60mm thick and angled, so in once in a rare while you'll actually bounce a shot. And if you don't? Your engine gets damaged and your tank doesn't insta-explode because of the frontal fuel tanks not detonating. Is this risky? Yes. Is it better than being 1 shot from the front? Absolutely.

They're not survivable, they have troll armour. If you know the game well enough they're really not an issue but even then on the odd occasion your shot might be off by a mm and thus ruin your whole day. Just keep that in mind when deciding how to approach one instead of taking risks that will get you killed in the inevitable occasion that volumetric says 'lol no.' Always lower glacis if that's available. Big, square and flat. As someone who does play the IS, attempting to RELY on it WILL get you killed but it does on occasions save my life.

I liked the old version of Vietnam, at least it was one of my favorite to use amphibs on, but then they made basically all water passable by every vehicle.
when it first got introduced i hated it so much along side red dessert but as time pass i found out i do way way much better with bigger maps for some reason and i 70% of the time get a nuke on them. but now they ruined this map to be so generic with less flank opportunities.. now i hate it so much.
Object 248 gun is very good with excellent penetration of 230mm and an ok reload speed of 11s. but it doesn't have a cremation level of TNT in its shell and it has a worse Angle pen. I will give this gun 10/8.
Drinking game wise I did it on stream already, you wont last very long. maybe an hour or two. Trust me, im a certified grade a alcoholic, i mean im Scottish not an alcoholic
i like to imagine what the russian player base would do if they released a battle pass german tiger 2 with 50mm more pen or 2 seconds off its reload, but sure, add an is-2 with significantly better reload.
I would say it fits fine at 6.3 due to the many issues the tank itself still has. 1. -3 gun elevation means the slightest incline can vastly affect your shot hitting or missing the target. You have to be on flat ground. (Affects trying to hull-down behind cover, more exposed.) 2. The "armor". This thing cannot be angled at all from the front, the areas to the left and right of the area underneath turret become huge "SHOOT ME HERE" spots because of how the hull is designed. Straight on is worse, the lower plate CANNOT take a single hit from any gun of its tier without detonating the fuel tanks and 1-shotting the tank instantly. Compare this to the Tiger 2's, there's a *SLIGHT* chance they can take a turret hit without the ammo behind the crew detonating. 3. Even with the reload, the IS2's gun could overmatch armor sometimes that the 100mm has no chance of penetrating. Very situational, very RNG dependent. So just because it has a few seconds shaved off doesn't mean it has the same ammo type ect. You have to factor that stuff in. Its like the 105 King Tiger, a side-grade with slightly better penetration performance at a cost of a higher reload. I think it'd struggle badly at 6.7, so where its at current is fine.

The armour on this tank can be really trolly. I was playing this tank the other day and two 1000 pound bombs landed about 10 meters to my right, when they detonated they made my tank do back flips. I didn’t take any damage just flips
I loved my IS-2s. Dumbasses rushed forward, got a single kill and got killed while reloading. I just stay a bit back, fire and take cover, something the T30 taught me very well (if you dont like the T30 you are playing it wrong)
Obj 248 has mechanical rammer that help push the round into the breech (like modern SPH) that’s why it have very short reload time than other 100mm gun armed Russian tank
2:12 Honestly it was better before. One of my favourite maps as long as it was 3 cap and o could avoid A. All the good sneaky places that were empty like the entire town part are guaranteed to have multiple people in which makes flanking or just getting to good positions so much harder.

Correcting you on the “straight up better version” comment at the beginning. The 248 is the early low BR hull armor layout for the IS-2 up at the same BR as the 1944 hull layout. That is a massive disadvantage
In terms of the Vietnam map, I don't really mind it. Love it thematically and while from a gameplay standpoint it isn't great I still tend to have fun, somehow

I love this tank it infuriates German players since you can just wipe half the team and it’s great going through the front plates of panthers like the is2 without the 30s reload
The is2 is very good especially the 1944 version. It’s much better as a mid to long range sniper than brawler because of the reload, but is armor is pretty effective and the gun is very good

IS-2 is definitely worse than the King Tiger, however, King Tigers are driven by Germany players so that balances it out.

People dont understand that the armor is of an is-1/2, not of the 1944 version (which is 6.3 too and has way better armour)
In terms of the Vietnam map, I don't really mind it. Love it thematically and while from a gameplay standpoint it isn't great I still tend to have fun, somehow
Im actually starting to appreciate Vietnam map, I like the changes they made and it's nice to play a map other then the main 4 or 5 I seem to get constantly

The is2 is very good especially the 1944 version. It’s much better as a mid to long range sniper than brawler because of the reload, but is armor is pretty effective and the gun is very good
It's an IS-1.5. works great though.
should mention that it's mistaken for an is-1. so people in jumbos and panthers think they are safe.
