Why does the mustang still sound like a crossplane ? Has the correct Mustang motor been recorded ? I would like to see the official firing order. Does the UDUD crank make it sound this way...or is it the bad header design?
firstmusic00 no doubt I too feel that cross plane crank V-8 sounds better then flat plane crank V-8s. I actually think that this Mustang sounds better then the Ferrari 458, now a Ferrari F355 with tubi exhaust? that is another story.
agreed though i loved the 458 im not at all impressed with its sound, neither are auto journalists but they cant say that or even write to that fact because they desperately want and need Ferrari in the mix of their testings, write ups and reviews which has to be sanctioned by Ferrari. Talking bad about them (or what they would precieve as bad) could not only mean your job but also the financial gain those reviews and magazine get in revenue just from having the latest greatest Ferrari on their pages. Ferrari's Power within the industry. So Journalist will say it sounds great when we all know Ferraris lost their beloved signature 'scream' long ago. They dont sound bad, but more buzz saw hair clippers so to speak.

Flat planes are cool, but they just don't quite have that deep, uneven exhaust burble that cross planes have.
