Thanks so much,Miriam, i hope next year when the virus is over here i can make these for my viking inspired bed and breakfast /thats in three majestic wooden trojan goat shaped mini houses, if you ever come to Alaska ill put you up for free, merry merry!
Miriam, what is a “dl”? I’m in canada and I’ve not heard of that measurement before that I know of... could you give us the equivalent in millilitres or grams maybe? Thanks ❤️
The video refreshed my memory of the Christmas I had in Sweden 15 years ago:) I totally get what you said about the way you wrap the candies affects the experience when you eat them. It does "taste" differently when you put them in the cup cake holds:)
Oh, I thought everyone had the same recipe for "knäck", but seems like our recipes are very different. My recipe for knäck is just equal parts heavy cream, syrup and sugar, add a knob of butter (not important how much in my experience) and then almonds to taste. When I was a kid my mum would always try to use a spoon to place the knäck in each cup before it hardened (about 70-150 cups!) which often was very stressful. When I got old enough to take over I just pored the toffee into the cups right from the pot. A lot quicker but you lose some toffee when the cups fall over or you miss xD. Practice does make perfect though and nowadays I usually only miss about 5 cups in one batch (~75 cups). The missed cups go to the chef as a reward for the hard work ;) .
In Australia we also have a toffee in a cupcake mould. A little less complicated, ours are called Stickjaw Toffees and usually children sell them as school fundraisers during the yearly school festival (fête) or during bake sales as a class fundraiser! They’re so hard and sticky and that’s the fun in them because they might unstuck a loose tooth! We usually sprinkle them with colourful sprinkles but basically it’s just sugar 😂 nothing much else like nuts or cream like the Swedish version!
I really like watching your Christmas preparation videos! They make me feel very christmasy ❤️ You have inspired me to decorate our home and also prepare some Finnish Christmas delicacies. 🥰
Thank you for sharing this delicious sweet. It's things like this brings ppl together. Culture intermingle that leads to harmony and peace in the world. Baby so cute too.
I love the Swedish recipes. I am part Swedish and have been learning to speak Swedish, so it's fun to learn about the cultural stuff. Alltid bra att titta pa din kanal :) Hej fran Canada
Remembered when my mother first came over from China, she did not always gets all the ingredients she wanted when it comes to cooking or making biscuits. What she does is to look for alternative to substitute what she doesn't have. Well at the end she did well and things did have its unique taste . It's all the more what a mother would do for us. Improvise is the answer. No cheese , make your own. My mum lived up to a good old age at 84 before she passed on after my dad left a couple years after. She was a very strong will woman and good in business as well. Much like your mother in law. Believed she'll pass on all she knows to you. That's how my wife learnt the cooking's and our family 's culture & traditions. Some might be useful some might not. It's up to you to choose, adapt. Improvise all that you had learnt from your mother in law. All that for you to pass onwards to your future daughter in-law !! That's chinese family culture. Good night, morning.
What a cosy video this is ! Thank you for making this ! It is so good to see you again. ! Wishing you a lovely Christmas with family. Much love from California 🙏❤️
Tomorrow is 冬至, maybe you should bring it to your in-laws to celebrate. And also "Christmas Star" - Jupiter and Saturn conjunction happening on 21 Dec. Go star gazing on this rare celestial occasion and celebrate a fusion festival. I am sure that you would have a great view being in the country side and high altitude.
Another video who stirred old memories. When I was a kid I vaguely rememember my father making candy with peanut halves in it. But I can't remember the name so I don't know if it was a traditional recipe or not.
Do you have anything simular to peanut butter fudge?? It all looks especially yummy at Christmas. Its the little things that give you that feeling of magic. :)

@@UrbanHomesteadMomma a dl is a deciliter, 1/10 of a liter so equal to 100 ml (milliliter).

I am curious how the Chinese ingredients compare to what you are used to using in Sweden. Are the syrup, butter, and sugar much different?

God Jul! 💖🎄
Looks delicious, wondering if you could substitute the bread crumbs for rice crispies. .
Hi Miriam,
They do sell tiny cupcake mold at aliexpress that are 25x21mm if you search for "mini cupcake mold". Not sure if that's small enough.
I am sure little Sansan bear will eat up a lot of sweets!
Any baking buffs in the comments know what purpose the breadcrumbs have in the toffee? I’m intrigued!
Yummy, yummy ,they look delicious .❤❤❤❤
Loved the video
🙋♀️❤🍀Good morning dear Miriam I love Knäckebrot 👌🙂
hej god jul och gott nytt år!

This looks so delicious I am going to try it tomorrow. What kind of paper are you wrapping the candy in?
It looks like she's using parchment paper/baking paper. If I don't find the cups, I would have used baking paper/perchment paper.
Can’t find the tiny forms here in the USA ether
! wonder how all these recipes for christmas candy would work with honey instead of syrup and sugar?
Ouh yummmm!! I might try this. Does it taste similar to the inside of a Daim bar but just chewier??
Very good 👍😊
more sansan, please ^^ he is too cute to handle with.

Hi Mariam, I found out that some vloggers have added paid membership to their channels. Maybe you can consider doing that.
Very good, beautiful.
You have one of the most lovely families on planet Earth!!!❤️🎈💜💙🥰😘🎁💝🎁❤️⭐️💙💜
Wrapping in paper seems so wasteful, do you think it will be fine to store them in a box or will they stick together?
Nine! 😛
Sister do something for the humanity.long live sister.
