All Canadians wear blackface on the first and last day of the month as well as days that fall on prime numbers. It's a ritual, don't take it away from them
All of this makes a lot more sense when you understand how expensive maple syrup is. If I recall, at the time of the heist, the price of maple syrup was *higher than the price of oil*.
Before Woolie said what it was I jokingly said out loud "they stole a bunch of maple syrup" without ever hearing about this before because it's such an obvious bit

I just read that Katalyka update and… yeah. It is definitely reads like the ramblings of a conspiracy-spewing maniac who is trying to prove that they are “not racist” even though they make a lot of race-based accusations.
Paige has literally nothing to do with it except from being Asterios' ex, she kept herself out of this drama since the beginning. Maddox sure be dragging anyone remotely involved into that 'harassment campaign', even his past collaborators (failing to realize that he was the one who instigated it all along, as proven by the Herrera v Ozounian and Kokkinos v Ozounian court docs). He still hasn't reported this so-called crime to the police even after 10 years as he knows that all the evidence actually points to himself if investigated.
@HoChiMints2007 I'm not saying she did having anything to do with it. Fans can get weird. I was checking to see if they were aware that weirdness could be coming their way if it hasn't already found them.
I've heard of this story from Gold Shaw Farm, it's hilarious if a very dystopian realization of Canada being fucked up controlling the syrup content of the entire country.
@@miguelnewmexico8641Canada is legitimately becoming a dystopia, though. Between Chinese ownership and the suicide machines, we're uh... we're getting up there.
No. The more you learn about Canadian History, the more you realise that the entire nation is made up of psychopaths that can only be pacified using sweet-tasting tree sap.
Maple syrup, the most valuable Canadian commodity, 2nd being the blackface paint worn by Trudeau.

Tbf, PM blackface os more of a cultural export than a commodity
@Carlos-Mora It’s the same as idaho and potatos. Sure it isn’t native, but it sure as hell is theirs
Literally the only way this crime could get more Canadian is if the ringleader apologized profusely when he was caught.
My favorite part is the Canadian Government asking "BUT DO YOU HAVE THE- WHERE DID YOU PUT ALL THE MONEY, THOUGH?"

Disappointed at no mention of a certain other infamous Canadian thief.
Those pies were his by right
The Hockey Stick Bandit looks at his stockpile of hockey sticks and sighs longingly for this kind of recognition.
You can tell how Canadian this is not just from the maple syrup, but no murder? This barely qualifies as a crime.
Stealing 3000 tons of maple syrup is a victimless crime, like punching somebody in the dark.
If the devs behind Payday 3 weren't cowards they would make this a mission.
"The Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist" sounds like a Critical Role one-shot ropleplaying session.
Imagining black market syrup being sold in baggies
Before Woolie said what it was I jokingly said out loud "they stole a bunch of maple syrup" without ever hearing about this before because it's such an obvious bit
I know of an infamous Canadian pie thief.
Truly does this heinous crime strike at the heart of what it means to be Canadian.
5:55 the fake out!
Woolie had the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever by just ignoring Pat at the end.
Dude every time this story resurfaces, I cackle at how much it breaks people

I’m sorry 2011-2012 wtf
The Katalyka dev posted an update on Kickstarter about a month ago, and it is... Woof.
I just read that Katalyka update and… yeah.

This comment got me to check it out and ..woof. This person needs real help
oh. i thought they meant the person's Son. not like, The Sun :o . jeez
Wasn't this the subject of an episode of 'Dirty Money'?
Is this where they got the idea for the train heist in Breaking Bad?
99.1% pure maple syrup
Canadian Maple Syrup Mafia
I'm serving every year on my best behaviour if I have $8M in a stash somewhere.
lol according to wikipedia Amazon is making a show called The Sticky based on the heist. good luck with that i guess

I heard about it from White Collar. Nothing specific beyond the money.
everyone just loves throwing the word dystopia around. being stuck in traffic for 5 minutes is grounds for crying dystopia nowadays.
@@miguelnewmexico8641 Dude, Canada literally federally controls it's entire syrup output. You're not allowed to make it or keep it without permission.
