    The claimed 140db horn is hilarious. For comparison, 140db is like a shotgun firing right next to your ear. The 300db siren... well, that's the estimated volume of the explosion of Krakatoa, the loudest sound ever, which was literally heard all around the world. This little electronic buzzer doesn't quite match that, I would say.

    • @phoffen3829

      The obvious answer is that he is going deaf.Besides that, I think I want the duck.

    • @rasmuswi
      @rasmuswi ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wasn't Krakatoa more like just below 200 db? A nuclear weapon is just over 190 db.

    • @nbartlett6538
      @nbartlett6538 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@rasmuswi I think it's pretty theoretical, obviously nobody was there at the time with a sound meter. The other important thing to know about the decibel scale is that it's exponential: an increase of 10db actually represents *multiplying* the sound energy by ten. So 110db is not 10% louder than 100db, it's ten TIMES louder than 100db... and 120db is a hundred times louder than 100db.

    • @ZachShannon1
      @ZachShannon1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@nbartlett6538 Yeah, I'm pretty sure that an actual 300dB would be fucking cataclysmic. Real Horns of Jericho type shit.

    • @Gisae
      @Gisae ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Those bar inner things are the exact ones i have and they help a lot on long rides by providing a different position. Actually, the letters for L and R are for if you were to mount them as bar ends.

    • @bDekaru
      @bDekaru ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The original ones are called Spirgrips and those have L and R on the correct sides(inverse of this knock-off version). Sqlab used to sell these before they released their own version of inner bar ends which are slightly different.

    • @Frostbiker
      @Frostbiker ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also use similar Spirgrips knock-offs and find myself using them for 90%+ of the time. They give you a hand position that is similar to being on the hoods of a drop bar without the cost of a handlebar conversion on your bike. I may do a proper conversion in the future, but for now they work fine for me.

    I used a similar stem extender on an old rigid mountain bike while turning it into a comfort ebike as a fun project during the covid shut down and it worked really good. I still ride it when not wanting to kit up to do things at my Moms some 12 miles away. Seems solid. If you (not me) ever decided to let the real boys breath at a nude bike ride, the seat chamois might work out and you could throw it in the wash for the next time. At least your saddle would be happier about it.

      If you fit them correctly (eg not on 800mm bars so you look like a Staffie pinching off a log.) it can give you a position similar to having brake hoods on your flat bars while still being able to cover your brakes. If you've got hand/wrist problems and can't ride drop bars Spirgrips can make a massive difference. It's not going to turn a Hybrid it a TT bike but you can tuck your elbows in and stench your back out. (Also if you have them on a Brompton It will still fold up.)

    The steerer tube extension is a very relevant thought, when you have bought a bike thats been sized for someone else and cut, and buying a new fork set is just not an option , what else is there within the normal reach of the usual cyclist, there is no evidence that the extension was unsafe , its clamped just the same way a head stem is . other than that I really like to approach to bringing these examples to the masses .
