Yep. The chat support/warmth/encouragement was off the charts. You could feel the love pouring out of the walls. Kind of a happy thing in this life for once finally!!
They wouldn't have even needed an invisible wall. The station's designed in such a way that it has an exterior entrance, but only because it's broken. If it were intact, there would be no exterior entrance at all. But considering one of the first things they did when they released their Fig alpha was run a contest to see who could land on the sun station first, I suspect they really wanted people to try it.
Such an amazing addition. Being a physicist with a fondness for the Parker solar probe missions, I assume you can see where my first voyage was headed.
I spent 3 hours trying to do this myself in honor of Fauna's let's play. I gave up and I tried the Ameway, and completed it in less than an hour. I am honored to watch this clip again.
It's genuinely astounding how well this matches the soundtrack. Like, right as she starts to suspend herself in front of the rapidly moving entrance, **boom**, the score just kicks up.
As of yesterday, I did this for the first time (and then a second time because the first time took just a little too long) with keyboard and mouse as well. It's not simple by any means, and Ame earns every commendation for doing this. The hard part to me was managing to synchronize and converge on the station's orbit... the second hardest was exiting my ship once I was in a comfy position because, unlike Ame's apparent case here, the forces were shoving my character away from the hatch rather often and I was fighting to break away from the edges of my chamber to leave. It's very satisfying to accomplish, all the same!
That was seriously hype. Watching her try again and again, getting more frustrated with each failed attempt but staying persistent and then..... she makes the landing, chat explodes into cheers, her sigh of relief with the happy claps. That really was an epic moment.
