Mia is a wonderful, sweet and passionate story teller. She does a fascinating performance for making the long story short. She must prepare "Long Story Short" for all operaVision opera videos.
I'm not an opera fan and have been gifted a ticket for Tosca tonight. I wasn't looking forward to it but this video will greatly help my enjoyment and understanding of the opera. Thank you!
Just recently watched Puccini's Tosca on DVD from the Royal Opera House featuring one of my favorite divas Angela Gheorghiu in her incredible performance as Floria Tosca, it was indeed a roller coaster ride 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏.
LOL and the TH-cam craze leaves no stone unturned it seems. This is cool content. Really helps for us plebs who can't speak Italian but still listen to opera here and there. Way better than reading Wikipedia. You've got a sense of humor about it which is nice, and your delivery is very straightforward and engaging. I imagine you can get a few new people into opera with this kind of content! Keep it up!
Merci !
I am seeing this today- last show at the SF Opera. You are extremely entertaining in your presentation. Looking forward to seeing your short on my next opera.
We're going to watch it in London next week performed by the English National Opera at the London Coliseum until November 04, definitely not going to miss this one. Woohoo 👏👏👏👏👏.
Scarpia, the guy in opera you most love to hate, which is a pretty tall order. You'll have to give a few more examples to prove the opera has more cliches than usual. Tragic romance and the heroine dying at the end are pretty much just rules, otherwise it's called a comic opera, operetta or opera buffa. What's not a cliche is that Tosca gets her revenge before the end, way to go female empowerment. Love the PJ's btw.
Résumé plutôt bon !!!! ...
Very informative, thank you for uploading. I really did not like this opera; I found it confusing and I did not like any of the characters but thank you for your passion!
I didn't see the opera, only heard two most famous songs and I don't get what's the point with that countess hiding clothes and the blond woman attending the church. Why are they in the plot at all? (I probably should see the entire thing to understand)
- Heinz

You’re so great at describing the story to one of my favorite operas

I think that is one of the copies of Tosca I have
@kellicoffman8440 Oh yes there's my favourite Scarpia the Welsh baritone Sir Bryn Terfel also Jonas Kaufmann as Mario Cavaradossi.
That opera can always make me sob. I mean...they were so close to being together (alive)!! T_T

Scarpia is like Frollo.
It's not a long story to begin with, especially as operas go. Aristotelian in its compactness.
