This video is very helpful. I'm a first time buyer for these scooters/moped. so I'm watching all videos to find a good one get. I will start out slow & work my way up to the more powerful bikes once I complete the motorcycle course at my local college. Thank you for posting it.
DAMN! 100m per gallon?!?! I must get a moped just like this! I love everything about this moped. Now I don't have to catch the diseased busses! Thanks a lot for this review mate.
although i thank you for this advice, i have been motorcycling for many years and i understand everything i need to do or to maintain to keep my bike in good health
@Mathew Ingham the top speed depends on your weight and road, I am VERY heavy and tall and i get 40-45 mph on a standard straight flat road but anyone slightly lighter can get 50 mph easily (my dad did) travelling up hills may vary and i'm afraid it is different for every hill. This is not the fastest 50cc but it compensates with its smooth handling, big wheels and easy driving style. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask. :)
thank you for your contributions, this will be very useful to all the new bikers out there (by the way the recommended oil is pp2 semi-synthetic 2-stroke oil) fully symthetic can damage the components and reduce the bikes reliability or overall use life even if it does seem like a better option for the bike. Be warned what oil you buy!
Thanks for the video I was hoping to find more I just bought one but it's not been used yet untill I do my cbt end off the month it's been sat in my garadge for 1 month so I'm hoping a kick-start is all it will need as I'm keen to start using it.
Best review of the Kymco Super 8 on youtube. I have the same model, also 2 stroke 50cc and same colour aswell. But i have a little problem, it wont pull more than 35 mph. So may I ask, how did u derestrict it, and what should I do to make it go faster like your does? :)
Andrej Gorgiev I took mine to my local dealer who sold me the moped, i am not sure what they do to de-restrict it so you will have to look it up on a forum (maybe this? www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=455.0) or ask a mechanic for that. To ensure you get as much out of the moped as possible, ensure the bike is serviced regularly (once every 6 months is recommended by the handbook) also use good quality oil, i like 2-stroke rock oil, not the cheap Tesco stuff or anything! Correctly inflated tyres and keeping the moped in general clean condition can never harm it too. Overall i have made no significant modifications after de-restricting it. A final piece of advice, NEVER use premium unleaded petrol in the moped as i find it does not agree with it.
Fuel efficiency is basically the same for both 2 and 4 strokes of this capacity. 4 strokes compromise power for slight efficiency but it is barely noticeable (maybe 120mpg to only 110mpg) 2 strokes are faster in the long run.
Cheers! I meant to delete my comment after I saw you mention it in the video. But thanks for being specific. I have 3 weeks to decide on my moped and beggining to wonder whether it is worth it's $2000 AUD pricetag hahaha :)
@mower123petrol it I've very reliable, no parts have gone wrong but when you first buy the bike it may be worth asking the dealer (if the bike is brand new) to re position the cooling vent closer to the engine as it does get a bit hot otherwise (this can be covered in the dealers warranty) a de restriction is a good choice too as it completely changes the bike and it is even better to drive
I can get the same speed on my 4 stroke 50, but I only weigh 10 stone. Are two strokes that much worse on fuel? I might want to get a faster 50 as you don't need a bike test, just a car licence and a single CBT
60 mph is fantastic! for a 50cc mine did 45ish but i am far heavier due to my height and size. PS keep in mind the outer set of numbers on the speedo is in kph, mph is the little ones on the inside. Your 60 mph may actually be kph ;)
+Ben Deane i ride a 2004 TGB 50 cc 2 stroke and the kph are the small # under the larger mph #'s.. just saying... most china made bikes are like what your talking about..
I purchased my bike from a shop called Roadrunner In Stroud, Gloucestershire. It cost £1750 from new plus £100 on the road fee. Insurance cost me £300 fire and theft cover for the year when i was 16 years old, that company is Lexham insurance. I am currently selling this bike so if you are local you can take a look, it is on the market for offers around the £800 mark. I hope this helps :) www.roadrunnermotorcycles.co.uk/ www.lexhaminsurance.co.uk/
Hi mate great review. I'm turning 16 in November and looking to get one of these bikes. I would probably need to get it de-restricted as I'm heavy lol. Can any bike shop do this ? And will it affect the mot ? Thanks mate. Ride safe
Hi Jack Jones, any bike shop should be able to do this but i advise a dedicated dealer specialising in mopeds or small bikes and if you can get to a Kymco dealer great! MOT will not be affected and if the ped you buy is new you do not require an MOT for 2 years anyway (maybe 3 i cant remember).
BigFrojo Yet 80% of 50cc mopeds with 16 year olds on them have been de restricted, there are no official checks and nobody really cares. Police cant enforce petty matters like this, saying that i am in no way trying to justify doing this, it is done at the owners risk and liability and is their own fault if they are caught or fined. Thank you for your input.
Ben Deane The problem is, if you are in any kind of accident. it invalidates your insurance. Or if you were pulled over for somethings else and they find out it's de restricted then that will add to your bad luck. Seems fun where you are, where I live no one at 16 would ride de restricted xD
BigFrojo Just to add to that, if you were unlucky enough for the old police to not have a liking for you, they will take it off you, crush it, give you 6 points and a £300 fine for driving without insurance if it is de restricted.
Roadrunner Stroud (Official Kymco dealer), £1650 (i think) plus £100 tax and preparation charge, and 16 years old. If you need any other help please ask
50cc only goes up to 30mph Im sure of that because I am thinking of getting one when I get my CBT to go to school and police cadets and back again. How much is it to fill the tank? How much is your insurance?
Have you watched this video review at all???? Yes all 50cc mopeds are RESTRICTED to 30mph but can be de-restricted to allow them to go faster!!! Tank costs around £6-7 to fill up depending on petrol station price rates. I rode this moped for a long time so i know all the in and outs of it. In the future read previous comments on the video and actually pay attention to what is stated in the review, it saves me and you a lot of time and correspondence.
+Ben Deane ah right thank you, also one last thing, what did you do if the police were following you? Because surely they should know that you shouldn't be going over 30
+James Flint it is a bigger problem if you are in a city, I am not, police never once troubled me if I was doing 40 on a 40 road. If you are doing the speed limit and not drawing attention to yourself by driving too fast or making lots of noise with aftermarket exhausts then you won't have a problem! Police are more interested in other things!
+LegitGamer697 Im 6ft 4in. The seat height is at a position to accommodate both taller and shorter people and you should be fine. I would suggest trying one if you are not sure :)
Hey man how do i un-restrict this scooter when i have my A1 licence as i don't want to be told off for having it un-restricted on a AM scooter licence. Thanks.

Glad my video can help! I have now got my A2 licence and will shortly be posting a review of my new bike, stay tuned if you are interested!
Just bought one of these for £450 + £50 delivery. First bike, license goes valid in December - can’t wait to ride it.
DAMN! 100m per gallon?!?! I must get a moped just like this! I love everything about this moped. Now I don't have to catch the diseased busses! Thanks a lot for this review mate.
no problem :) also a good bike for consideration is the geared Kymco pulsar s125 for the same price and insurance (review coming soon! :D)
I got the same one in a different colour! It's a good bike in my opinion :) Nice video!
although i thank you for this advice, i have been motorcycling for many years and i understand everything i need to do or to maintain to keep my bike in good health

@3DAxew you should get around 45-50 mph mate once restricted
@Dj Danis for me it cost £300 for 3rd party fire and theft through kymcos recommended lexham insurance

+MatrrAguuNaa a aprillia sr 50 with a 70cc kit will do over 65.
It is 50 kmh
I have a copy of this bike in New Zealand but the bike stopped all of a sudden I don't know why the engine doesn't start
@james Bennett lol yeah most 2 strokes sound like that with a standard exhaust on them
@alistarstuart2009 it is a fantastic bike restricted too, it pulls great and accelerates well. I would highly recommend this bike
How u did the sound like this bro pls Teller me
Im a little late to comment hopefully you see this how do you de restrict the scooter
Wow the engine is so small the GY6 what I have is a bit bigger what’s the top speed of the 2stroke one ?
Doing 80km/h on my stock PGO G-Max 2010
:D
Do you have to change the oils,on this model?
110 imp mpg on a 2 stroke? in derestricted mode?
Do you find the 2 stroke being jerky at very slow speeds? Compared to a fuel injected scoot
Wear did u buy bike from n how much n how old r u
would you recommend a 50cc two stroke restricted?
@Harry Rafton 45-55MPH please check the description for FAQ's
Nice video, be my next moped. Kymco have same quality as yamaha and peugeot, maybe better then peugeot, and much cheaper to buy.
where can i get this bike i really like it. how much did it cost and how much is the insurance.
I purchased my bike from a shop called Roadrunner In Stroud, Gloucestershire. It cost £1750 from new plus £100 on the road fee. Also how much do u weigh?
All in all how do you like the Kymco? I'm thinking about getting one for my spouse for birthday. Thoughts on 2 or 4 strokes? Thanks!
2 stroke is recommended and the kymco is perfect as its better value and still comes with a 2 year warranty
Top speed? Mph
do you use a key to open the gas cap?
yes

It is illegal to ride a de-restricted moped at 16, after that I believe it's ok.

Is it still running lean? or did you make it rich?
I haven't adjusted the fuel mixture

yes
@3DAxew *de restricted
do you have it restricted? if not how did you unrestrict
Demanize CSGO take to a garage/mechanic I personally don't know how to do it
Thaks man, i have taken it to them and it got a new exhaust and rollers and the carb upjetted, it goes 55 flat and 70 down hill
Were you 16 when you made this, just wondering as to whether I should de restrict
I was yes! I felt it was both safer to keep up with traffic and also a bit more entertaining! It is something done by most teens with these
+Ben Deane ah right thank you, also one last thing, what did you do if the police were following you? Because surely they should know that you shouldn't be going over 30

Are these sold in America
Yes, contact a Kymco dealer or consult the Kymco website for more info
how fast?
how tall are you I'm 5ft 3 . would I be tall enough . can a 5ft person use this
+LegitGamer697 Im 6ft 4in. The seat height is at a position to accommodate both taller and shorter people and you should be fine. I would suggest trying one if you are not sure :)
I'm 5'3" as well. I have a Kymcom Super 8 (love the gray camo color). I fit just fine. You just have to sit more to the front.
Anyone do you know why gov website it says that the max speed you can go is 30mph why anyone? Thank you
How do you find the acceleration of this bike. I'm a bit nervous about keeping up with traffic even when derestricted.
Should have no problem on normal roads
where can I buy this in the US?!
I wouldn't be able to know as i am in the UK, my best advice would be to check the kymco USA site and go from there.
How much does it cost to derestrict a moped
Hamdaan Javed £50
Hey man how do i un-restrict this scooter when i have my A1 licence as i don't want to be told off for having it un-restricted on a AM scooter licence. Thanks.
Which moped make is the best??
i wouldn't be able to be truthful as the only ped ive driven i the super 8
Cool.
Would I be able to get this second hand for under &1000
Yes, forced to sell mine at £600 as no one would take it :(
I'm thinking about getting a ped for my birthday, mum and dad are willing to spend around £600 which make of ped would be best for that price?
A second hand kymco super 8 is well within that price range. Alternatively a second hand Peugeot speed-fight 50cc may be affordable.
im looking at getting a used one but it had 11k miles, should i still get it?
kurtis nice does the reading display11k because if it does that's In Km and yeah sounds like a low enough mileage either way
im not to sure, im viewing it on saturday but he said it has 11,000 miles. thanks for the info bro.
kurtis nice how much are they asking for it? You can get a used one at that mileage for £700 at the most
im picking this one up for £300 but has no mot.
how would you fit a top box on this bike?
Rhys dealer fitted it for me, removed passenger grab rails and bolted a top box mount into its place
Kymco has a factory error regler
How fast can it go because mine only gos 60 mph ):
60 mph is fantastic! for a 50cc mine did 45ish but i am far heavier due to my height and size. PS keep in mind the outer set of numbers on the speedo is in kph, mph is the little ones on the inside. Your 60 mph may actually be kph ;)
45 on a flat or hill?
James Roberson mostly flat
Well i broke down got my mc licence bought a old school 81 Yamaha Maxim 650 wana race lol.
Give me a few weeks to get my A2 lol
70cc vs 650cc hmmm? lol
James Roberson 70cc where you getting that from? A2 is me on any big bike up to 47BHP which sounds competitive to me ;)
No it's about 55 to 60mph because mines a aprilia make moped and aprilias are racing moped so that's why dude
Restricted top speed is 30mph?? Pretty slow if u ask me
GOrDoN ReMseY it's UK law for all 50cc scooters to be restricted to 30mph on a learner licence. Of course anyone could choose to de restrict it.
Ben Deane lol I'd find it hard to only go 30mph. I'd probably end up way over it 😂
I got the same one vertelt gast scooter
Hej
take it to a dealer £75
Are you joking? I'd of bought it!!!
It's a nice scooter but it sounds like a leaf blower aha
A 4t
I now also have a 50cc Baotian review on my channel check it out :)
Fuck Kymco has a factory error regler
£1000**
