    Thank you for these excellent lessons! I learned Fisher's Hornpipe a couple of years ago but wasn't much interested in it. These ornamentations really bring it to life.

    I am nowhere near advanced yet, but I like to see what the lesson is about. Being a guitar player too, the pull-offs, triplets and hammer-ons i can get with just a wee bit of practice, so this lesson is just about within my reach - at a slowed down speed!
    Great lesson on what very advanced pros can do to a tune.

      Always worth trying something above the standard you think you're at ... you'll be surprised how much you'll be able to play. I look back and cringe at what I tried to learn only a few months in to picking the mandolin up ... but trying to learn a ridiculous tune (Ode to a Butterfly by Nickel Creek) made me a better player at the time. So, go for it :)

    I learned this great tune by playing the first of the three pickups with an up stroke. The third note is also an up stroke, with the 4th the down beat, a down stroke. 2 hammer ons are too weak sounding to me. Try it like I have mentioned and see if it works for you.
