  • In this video I am building a Thin Rip Jig for the table saw. This jig is incredibly useful when you need to cut a number of thin strips that are all equal in thickness.
Having a means of cutting thin strips quickly and repeatably is a real time saver, and great for quickly knocking out strips for edge banding, bent lamination etc.
A bandsaw is also a good option for achieving this, but you will get a cleaner finish when using the table saw.
All you really need to create this jig are the following items :
An offcut, i would advise hardwood over softwood if possible,
    3 m6 bolts ( I used 60mm bolts )
    1 x m6 threaded insert
    1 x m6 wind nut
    2 x m6 star knobs ( these could be substituted for m6 nuts in a pinch )
This jig should work on any table saw, provided it has a mitre slot.
