-+Just took the plunge myself with another 2.8i from the same year as yours Jacob after retiring my 535i E39 from daily use. Looked at a few and as I've a V8 in my E39 went back to the delightful M54 again. decided to buy the best i could afford and have an Individual specified SE in Orient blue, cream interior with contrsting blue carpets and dash along with 18 inch style 32's finished in smoke chrome the same finish as an M5. The one I found had only 57k on the clock and is absolutely impeccable condition and history wise. Decent examples are definately on the rise value wise as I had to pay near the £7000 asking price but I can't fault it and I do like the blue with both my E39 and E46 Touring (Another M54 engine with 68k on the clock) are in the usual Triton silver. I'm enjoying keeping the cream leather clean as I live on a farm and do spend a lot of my time doing mechanical work along with all the mud and shite wearing wellies most of the time. Thanks for your review mate and I'll go and have a look at your other vids. I own a very rare Peugeot 304 Coupe from 1974 which we think is one of only a couple of RHD UK sold cars left though theres a few convertibles known still. Anyway, I remember the E38 coming out and liking it then so thought I'd best buy one before they really go daft value wise as people are begining to realise what a cracking all rounder they were compared to Benzs' of the same era. Owned a few of those too and am definately a Bimmer man in my old age.!! Cheers.
At the time that was in market I was in selling Benz and my best friend was in BMW so we did comparisons all the time. It was a turning point for BMW where the products was probably best they ever was even tho I’m a Benz man you have to give BMW credit for such complete products 👍
@@Classicsbyjacob I had an E32 for a few years and loved the ride comfort so thinking of exchanging my E39 for an E38 as I know these cars mechanically inside out.
@@froggy8301 I do like the e39 but there’s something abit special about an e38, they look incredible and make things seem very luxurious for such an old car.
@@Classicsbyjacob Here's a few things I'd do to your E38 if you want to bullet proof it a bit more. (1) Aluminium rocker cover (2) Water pump with metal propeller (3) Aluminium thermostat housing (4) Aluminium power steering pulley. These are some of the common failures on the M54 engines due to plastic components. Otherwise the M54 engine itself is rock solid.
I paid 3 grand for mine its a nicer colour peppermint green with style 32s ,Ive had it 5 years and ive spent just under 4 grand in 5 years and that is mot and tyres and gearbox and engine service ,cheap motoring realy and its lush .And if i knock it over into manual its crazy mad .
I can give an opinion about the car because I had the 2001 750il V12 and it is wonderful, but... oh please...!!! You want to appear opulent and your behavior when expressing yourself is very ordinary, and that is the biggest problem for people who have never been millionaires, because being very refined comes from birth, the best thing you can do is be yourself without exaggerated masks, come on bro.!!! be you..!!
What a gorgeous car! And a great review. Thumbs up from me 👍🏻
Why thank you! 😎
Best era for bmw that's why I love the e38 and e39
