Been binge watching this channel for days now. Full of handy tips. Im holding off till next year to build mine in the hope that timber prices come down a bit. Couldn't believe the prices of wr cedar 😬!!...U deserve way more subs fella! Great work building these and managing to film at the same time.
Hello fella!! thanks so much for leaving that comment! Yeah prices are just nuts at the moment! so deffinalty worth holding off for next 9-12 months if suppliers are to be believed :) When you get round to building any questions just please ping em over buddy!
really fantastic vid! question - is the insulation board butted up against the external wall? I had assumed you needed some gap between the insulation and wall
How do you deal with the vapour barrier where it meets the floor? Do you just cut it at the corner of the wall and floor? Do you then seal where the vapour barrier meets the floor ?TIA!
Nice vids Steve. Im working on the design of my garden room & I want to include a storage area. This one seems pretty wide at 2.5m - obviously each to their own but in your opinion what's a good size without compromising the main room? I've also got 6m to work with. Cheers
Hello fella!! Cheers for the comment :) Yeah its lie you say and down to personal preference, I did one a bit ago that was the same size as yours and the client and I settled on 2.5 widths for the storage area leaving 3.5 for the main space and was lovely :D
Been loving your videos, they’ve been super helpful in aiding me to request how we want our garden room built. Can I ask, what gauge of vapour barrier do you use?
Cheers for this fella!! :) The one I use is this one from Screwfix: www.screwfix.com/p/capital-valley-plastics-ltd-vapour-barrier-green-300ga-20-x-2-5m/12869?tc=WT5&ds_kid=92700065972061625&ds_rl=1249407&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=CjwKCAjwh5qLBhALEiwAioods3mkIcmXot-16LPUxoqqczvalrdww3MQoEDooRvWowR0eq22RWKp2BoCRcQQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Hi Steve. What tape do you use at the joints in the vapour barrier. Is it some form of foil tape. Cheers.
hey steve so when plastering boarding the walls no need to stagger i see all your wall boards are upright? thanks buddy!
Spot on fella! They are full height so just fix them next to each other and hey presto your all good!!
@@TheHomeRenovationExperts thanks for the reply also do you leave a few mm gap between boards too
@@jack-if1xl Nope just butt them straight up and then just use scrim tape over the joints. Dont worry at all if there is a gap beatween them though 😄

Hi Steve
Just to check, with OSB T&G roof boards, do i need to keep an expansion gap of 3mm?
Thanks
Hello Harsha!! Nope not at all fella! Get them nice and tight and your done ✅
Thanks Steve , as always very helpful

Hello buddy! So I cut it just about the floor so o can use the foil tape to stick it to the bottom stud and the vapour barrier 👍
What membrane did you use please? I am doing a room at end of a garage.

@@TheHomeRenovationExperts Your a gentleman, thank you! 🙏
Does it matter what vapour barrier you use ?? What one would you recommend??
Hello buddy!! Sorry for late reply!! I just pick the one up that they stock in tool station really good stuff and perfect for these builds :)
!! Havn't you just punctured that vapour barrier with the screws?
Oh yes! Same with cutting out the sockets and light switches, these builds are doing the most and best we can within the limitations that we face. 👌👍
