my brain gets fryed after 8 hours of streaming... nobody watches me anyways lol... well besides my elden ring dlc stream, i had like 4 guys pop in when i beat the final boss after 3 hours of attempting, so that was pretty hype.
My issue was never the viewer count more I see a dead chat and think "wow I must be really boring, the gameplay is bad and nothing I'm saying has value". On top of that I only really like RPG's which are quite story focused and I feel bad talking over the cut scenes which made me not wanna play the games on stream. Now I'm kinda stuck with what I should even do or if theres any point in trying.
Hi! im not a seasoned streamer by any means, but usually for me I'll keep yapping unless a voice acted cutscene is playing, genshin for example, ill shut up for archon quest cutscenes which is why i dont usually do the aq on stream, character quests i will do, but ill be quiet for like the final pretty cutscene, and then ill yap passively thru the rest. so like, if im asked a question in chat in a character quest, ill usually respond, even tho i talk less during those. this or you could go onto a different acc and stream with that one, and use ur main on ur own time, so yk whats happening already. hope i helped a little :D
Some commentary on calling people out: I'm a lurker, tried and true, I'm there-- I'm probably watching most of your (generalized) streams and I have your merch: I enjoy you. But, I usually end up following channels while the user is offline, just because I don't want my name called out. Maybe it's anxiety, maybe it's privacy and it's different strokes for different folks, but it's a personal big ick. That said, if I were to speak up, totally respond to me and I'd be thrilled! But otherwise god please don't acknowledge my existence.
Asking questions to yourself out loud is great, but make sure you're ok with them getting answered. It's also totally fine to not want them answered; just be clear about it by having a "rules" section or mentioning it a few times out loud during stream. Common stream watching etiquette is to not backseat unless explicitly asked for. Personally I'm not going to stick around for long if advice is being given from rhetorical questions or otherwise, and especially by regular watchers. Overall though don't think about it in terms of turning away viewers. Just make the stream a space you're comfortable in. Video is great advice, and it is conveyed well without getting too detailed thanks for the tips
2:12 This just made me laugh for a whole minute hahaha Amazing tip btw! I personally love yapping even when I don't stream all alone in my room lol But it so helps with viewer count!!
People keep forgetting that people watch their VODS offline. If they see them quiet, even in their Vods , no one will follow or come to the stream when live.
I don't care about the view count, the fact people stop by to enjoy my streams makes me happy, but I do kinda suck at yapping cause I don't know what to talk about, I also don't like talking over character dialog during a game, as most of the games I play are first time experiences, like Bioshock which I'm currently playing through [inset "Like, comment, subscribe" joke here]
i feel like my gimmick is to intentional call out and yell at anyone who watches my steam. "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE ANDROIDISBI23, DID MY STREAM TITLE INCLUDE YOUR DUMB ASS, DIDN'T THINK SO GET THE HECK OUTTA HERE." i think it will do well
"just keep yapping" is always the HARDEST part of streaming for me, thank you for all the tips! i'll def be checking out extensions 💗

"i already know how to talk to people" now that was your first mistake

l learn from someone on twitch yapping is the most important to think about streaming. The person turn a 1h game to 3 just for yapping about the game
