Very cool that you were able to visit the real, full size Hurricane R4118. I am sure that does make your model feel special for you. I really enjoyed that you were able to make a patrol with your Hurri bird. Very nice flying. I notice my Dynam retracts have a fair chance of working when it is warm / hot out. But on cold days, for some reason the retracts don't want to work at all! So I don't even try a Dynam plane during the winter. You have a very good looking model - I wish you good luck with it!
Thank you, jollyroger! Thanks for that info... I'll keep a 'weather eye' on the retracts. At the moment of writing, I can only report that it *was* a good looking model. Much activity behind the scenes is going on to get it back to some semblance of order.
Dang Dynam electronics! Glad you got her in the air. Beautiful airplane and the video of your interview with the Hurri owner is one of my favorites! Nice emergency landing...I dread finding out what happens next. Hopefully fixable. Maybe consider a Geo-textile runway at some point. Still $$, but way less than any kind of paving.
Hi Adam! Well, yes, when it's in the air it is a sight to behold... it's just the act of getting there that's proving difficult. Serious thought is currently being expended by the Purcell Brain Collective about hard surface runways or their equivalents...
Hi new to your channel, I’ve just got one of these, had to upgrade the landing gear as they were unbelievably wonky and I found it was underpowered. Great vids 👍
Hi Keef! Thank you very much, Sir! Yes, the Dynam Hurricane is a shonky thing out of the box, but nobody else makes a 1.2m size Hurricane, which is a great shame, so it's Dynam or nothing. I wish E-flite would bring one back 😞
Like your new intro. I know that issue with grass only too well me and my Eflite T28 1.1meter had the same issue. I think your Hurricane really really hates grass. Early happy wishes for Battle of Britain day for September 15th. You are so lucky to have your own Hurricane. From 1 Flight Lieutenant to another "beware of the hun in the sun" 😉
Hi Gina. I missed this one earlier but just to say I have this Dynam Hurry and a ME109. Both have retract issues, especially when its cold. A friend once experimented with an intermittent unit by putting it in the fridge and cooling it down to about 8C. It didn't work at all. He then brought it up to room temperature and it worked fine. I've noticed the same low temperature issue and in fact I don't fly either over the winter! I will swap them out eventually. Then there is the spit that they glue them in with!
Hi Bob. Yeah, I've had issues since that video you've watched. All to be seen in an upcoming video that'll be here in a few weeks' time... brace yourself!!
Thank you! Is yours an E-flite one? If so, it probably is better made than my Dynam one. Having said that, when mine gets airborne it generally flies quite well... apart from this flight. And the one after this. Oops.
@@purcellrcaviationchannel I have the Wind rider version. Probably the best scale foam Hurricane I've seen. I'd post a link to it on my channel but I don't want to be rude 😉
@@purcellrcaviationchannel Unfortunately they are out of production. But wow, what a great deal they were. I did mine up as a Maltese. There are a couple of videos. I really enjoy the Dynam warbirds as well. Well, after some upgrades 😁
By 'upgrades', I take it you mean 'finishing off the model so it goes together properly in the manner that it should have left the Dynam factory in' type of meaning! 😄 Just watching your Hurricane flight in a tornado, right now... awesome!! @@8poundquark
Was super excited to see this lovely flying again Gina. Shame it landed on just one good pin but wasn't unknown for one to fold on the real ones either. Still, looks like it didn't catch fire and the pilot was able to walk away. 😉 Dreading to think what'll happen in your 'future video' now though!!? 🛫😰
Thanks Andrew! Well... "You could teach monkeys to fly better than that!" probably applies here 😄😄😄 Do, however, dread the upcoming video 😞 It won't surface for a few weeks as there's probably 28-or-so videos to upload between now and then.
Grass take offs on warbirds can be dicey at times my technic is to put the toe of my shoe on the tail rudder run up the power and at about half throttle release the hold and it will take off like a sling shot that way and uses very little grass runway
Not a happy flight by the looks, she's a lovely aeroplane though, and i agree with the take off flaps comment. Maybe swap the Dynam retracts out for some better ones? (H/King) possibly. Undercart anxiety is NOT nice. DYNAM made some great airframes, sadly let down by the mechanics/electrics, I have their Gloster Meteor so I know 😤
Thanks, Ramon. Flaps up or down doesn't seem to make much difference. The cut grass area is smaller than it looks, so building up speed with the flaps up likely results in meeting the uncut (or at least, longer) grass faster. We need a proper hard runway, but that's expensive.
@purcellrcaviationchannel OK 👍 maybe more gas a tad sooner? 🙏 you could try a roll of that plastic mat stuff, or imitation grass, they sell in DIY stores. 2-3 metres is enough. 🤷
Hi Gina, nothing to do with flying, could you balance the volumes from the intro and commentary as i have turn volume up to full blast to hear you and then get my eardrums shattered my the flypast intro.
I can do something about that 😄😄😄 ...but not for the next few videos, though. And what's wrong with having your eardrums shattered by a roaring Rolls Royce Merlin V12 engine? 🙉🙉🙉🦻🦻🦻
Thank you for sharing
It's my absolute pleasure. Thank you for watching and commenting! 😃
Ohhh Gina, such a lovely plane the Hurricane &an perseverance to boot in flying her. Well done!✔️✔️✔️
Thanks, Noel! I do love owning and flying this model, for sure. Enjoy your holiday.
Home now with 2 new models waiting to fly.
Enjoy your dummer days
Summer not dummer or bummer😎😂😂
Sum and Summer! 😄@@Bellairvideo
Well…. That ‘sum’s it up’ Gina

Gina great flying, Mark is right with the friction from grass at slow pre-takeoff speeds flaps act like down elevator. Jeff in LA USA
I think me and take-off flaps are like Peanuts's Linus and his security blanket, Jeff 😄

Looks like a nice flying bird once it finally got in the air.
Thank you, flyingfortressrc! 👍👍
Thanks for persevering. I think you're one of the few females who likes to fly RC!
Thank you! I don’t think I could ever lose interest in the hobby now, as its roots go right back to when I was young. It’s too much a part of me 😁
If at first Lol you kept trying Gina!! Lovely sky just right for the MK I Hurricane 😀👍
Thanks, Ian! Never say never, as they say... 🙃

I find that the take off flaps just increase the risk that the plane will nose over
