    Isn't there a built in shower pan under the bathroom door? The Rialta came standard with one.

  • @JonTanOsb
    @JonTanOsb 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    In all the models, there is a removeable panel in front of the bathroom that covers the rest of the shower pan. Then, when extended, you have a good area to shower in.
    I'm getting an HD model next week and plan to use everything. :) Yeah, I want solar, too. :)

    You seem to have a great deal of repairs to do. Many of them major. Unless you have friends or family to help you, your going to have to come up with big bucks. Please make the repairs properly. We're talking about life and death decisions. Lots of luck with your RV.

      Some of it I can do, the other things we have a mechanic working on that's great. Thanks!

  • @skylinefever
    @skylinefever 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm going to buy one eventually, so I try to learn as much as possible. Have you had to make any mechanical or electrical repairs?
    So you mentioned oil leaks under the hood? I have found that with German cars, they tend to leak oil before most American and Japanese cars do. Also, they tend to be more complex. I suggest you remove some spark plug wires, check them for oil, then put them back. If you find oil, that means the valve cover gasket has failed. That is usually the first gasket to leak on any modern engine, no matter where it was made. Also, it usually is the least difficult gasket to replace. Someone with a little DIY knowledge can do the job on their own and save a lot of money.

      Not much, but that's because we bought it from someone who had redone a lot of the RV-side work. We've really only done mechanical work to the van-side. Nothing major really, the engine is running great and we've stayed in this on the weekends quite a few times now.
      Thanks for the pointers! We had our mechanic looking at it and we've drastically decreased the leak. There's still a pesky bit coming from somewhere that we're trying to locate.

    We have a 2000 Rinalta, doesn't you table insert in the back wall? Your chair is way better. We have a barrel chair. I wonder if we can exchange it. Where are you taking it???

    How was removing the toilet, and adding the composting one? I'm about to do it in a 96

    • @JonTanOsb
      @JonTanOsb 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it's the separating type, can you drain the liquid straight into the toilet hole, rather than use a bottle?
      You can also buy a connector for the black and grey waste outlets, so you can use both for grey. A bonus, since the sink only connects to a 7 gal. grey tank and the shower and sink connect to the13 gal. black tank.
      At least it all evens out to the 20 gal. fresh water tank.

      Ask about the heating/cooling for the cab (engine) -- That ended up being a pretty expensive fix that turns out to be common on any EuroVan builds (like the Rialta's).

    Hi Guys, hows the Rialta going? I have a 96 Rialta. I suggest dropping the generator out. It will save you 100+ pounds and yeah the generac generators never work and when they do they are super loud. i wonder how previous owner stiped the pain for the aluminum finish. It looks cool.

    • @craiginzana
      @craiginzana  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He did. I love that finish too. We recently painted a mural on the one side. Good idea to drop the generator all together.

      It was pretty complicated to actually get it set up and remove the toilet that was in there. I think it would have been better to figure out how to turn that toilet into a composting toilet.

    Two questions: how tall are you and what is the max height you can be and still be able to stand up straight without bumping your head on the ceiling? And can you say how much you paid for your Rialta? Thanks!

    • @craiginzana
      @craiginzana  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm 5' 11" and that's pretty much the max height to stand up straight as my head brushes the ceiling. The entrance is about an three inches taller and the cab is shorter. Once you include some of the immediate fixes we made to it, we paid $9,800

    • @LyfordFrank

    Hello! Fellow Rialta owner here! Hope you are enjoying your Rialta. I am sure you have found this site already, but just in case, there is great info here. Including how to reset your water heater! www.rialtainfo.com/winnebago/water_heater.htm. My water heater was also not functioning and it was a simple reset!! I would like to know the brand name and model number of your microwave! I still have the original in my Rialta and it does not have the Convection feature. Hope you have lots of fun in your Rialta! Greg.

    Nice floor plan but dated technology. Needs tankless hot water. Bluetooth, wifi, tv in rear, lose old tv in front and put in a flat screen tv, and dvd. Toilet should be charged to a cassette toilet. Fridge is better than the original that had no freezer in QD version

    • @craiginzana
      @craiginzana  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I still had it, I was planning on working on upgrading a lot of that stuff. Pretty good basic RV that holds up, but you'll be missing a lot of the modern tech for sure.

    • @JonTanOsb
      @JonTanOsb 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As well as the water heater, the Rialta uses the engine heat, while driving, to heat the water, so you have hot water once you park. You can also heat the living area the same way.
      The cab AC is also pumped into the living area from the overhead cab vents. A lot of cool things were dropped for new technology.
