@@SouthCoastRailVideos Well said Michael and a wonderful video documenting what will take place there.. As you know and for other fans of this video, Boston had become freight train unfriendly many, many years ago.
@@SouthCoastRailVideos @baker3person I had a chance to tour the place with camera in hand but missed it. really wishing I had made it to see it in action...
@@SouthCoastRailVideos The train wash is owned by Amtrak ! MBTA "use" to run trains thjru there,at one time . If they still do (witch I doubt) ( "T" Amtrak, have had problems) but I'm sure it would really help there appearance of there cars/ engines !!
This is quite interesting! Just the cost savings to bring trains up from the Readville storage makes this the slam dunk! You mentioned the electrification of the Lakeville line; any progress on the electrification of the Providence line (using the existing catenary lines along the route)?
Very, very exciting news. Guess it’s time to pay a visit to the area. Appreciate the info 👏👏
Thanks for watching!
It's always great to hear that new track is being built.

Wasn't that Americold facility receiving rail service up until a few years ago? How was it accessed?
Americold was getting cars maybe 5 years ago. CSX brought the cars up the Fairmount line.
The MBTA needs to commit to full overhead catenary electrification systemwide soon. This yard should be electric from day one.
Thanks for watching!
Any chance for freight to make a return there? It CAN coexist with passenger traffic.
The whole property will become a 26 track passenger layover, no room for freight.

Where does MassDot get the money? They have projects all over this state and others.
I sure hope MassDOT doesn’t have projects in other states….that’d be odd
How about a wash for the trains they need it
The building with the track running through it at 2:26 is the train wash
@@SouthCoastRailVideos HAHA they should use it 😂

The battery trains are actually planned for the Fairmount line. I’m not sure if any other plans at this time. Thanks for watching!
