I love all the friendly waves you got from the engineers.
Great video! I took the Acela train number 2160 from BWI Airport to Providence to see my Grandma up in Connecticut. While we were there we decided to take the MBTA train from Providence to Boston South Station.
just a cozy & beautiful ride to New York City.
the accells conductior waved. nice
@MrBearsito That's a good question. I think MBTA has Catenary wires only where Amtrak runs. I believe it got install around 1988 or so. I know Amtrak F40's used to run to Boston prior to that.
Great Video!
Ahh seeing the engineers waving. Boston is quite a place.
The providence commuter line to Wickford Junction is the only MBTA line that is electrified. That being said, some tracks along that line are not elecrified (Mainly track 2 from Back Bay to Readville), and would have to be in order to allow MBTA electric service. This was only installed in 1999. To have locomotives dedicated to just one line as was mentioned would strip the MBTA of some flexibility, but Back Bay has some dirty air and something needs to be done about it.
the MBTA train that came after the first accella train looked very clean considering how old that model is
Great Vid Dude
Most Awesome Vid!!!!!!!
1:11 What's that thing on the side of the Acela folding in?
@SuperStarRendon thanks for replying. i travel to BOSTON around twice a year. i usually go there by GREYHOUND & return by AMTRAK. there are so many different deals to go & return. GREYHOUND o/w is $ 18.00. ( 7 day advance purchase ). on the megabus.com $ 9.00 on certain days late afternoons. search around. enjoy.****
@tpirman1982 That is a mirror that comes out.
@metro4star Thanks.

@tycoonkid9 Gotta check it out.
for the providence line the mbta should hav electirc locomotvies
thats still South Station at 3:28 ?
What is that flap that the Acelas and HHP-8s have at 7:25 for?
@romino707 That's true.
Yeah, they put those there back in the day because kids in the hood would throw shit at em. Newer models don't have them, instead they use stronger windows, but the T is too broke to be spending money replacing the bars.
on the providence line the mbta should hav electric locomotives
Im noy from thoes areas im in californian and i will tell you the gp40 mc looks pretty nice
I'm not sorry misspelled
At 5:23 why was there a Acela locomotive connected to a northeast regional Amtrak train?
It's an HHP-8 they are like aem-7 but with a streamline design
so sad!! the lot of ye!!
Why can't MBTA make electric locomotives like NJ Transit does?
